Chapter 184: All over again
SEVEN YEARS LATER
"Your majesty, we finally caught him. He was the one who was caught looting from the palace’s farm."
Oberon growled, and stood up, his eyes looked menacingly at the criminal.
He walked up to him, and towered over him, "So this is the reason you came to work here?" He asked grudgingly.
The thief bowed, his head touching the ground, "No your majesty, I had no choice. I am not a worker here your majesty, my family is poor, and we can not afford good meals at all."
He squinted his eyes, "What?"
"I am so sorry your majesty. None of my neighbors would help me, i had no choice."
Oberon’s eyes softened, and he shook his head, "You could work. Why did you not do that?"
He sniffled, "I have not been paid your majesty."
He sighed, "Let him go. Fetch his master, and make sure he is severely punished. Give him some food. You can leave."
His eyes brightened, "Thank you so much your majesty," he thanked him profusely.
He stood up, and followed the guards out.
Oberon felt weak when the guards left. These past few years was horrible for him. He was getting lonelier each day, and up till now, he still didn’t know why Nyx left him.
He stood there for a while, still dazed, "Tsk."
The doors burst open, and Klaus, his nephew burst the doors open.
"Uncle! Uncle!" He spread his arms.
Oberon sighted him, and he grinned, He spread his arms wide open, "How are you Klaus?"
Klaus ran into his arms, and hugged him tight, "I am fine uncle. How are you?"
He ruffled his hair, "I am doing good," he faked a smile.
"Mother has been looking for you. She requests to see you."
He nodded, "Oh, okay. Tell her to come to the throne room."
Klaus grinned, and ran out again.
Oberon rolled his eyes, and went back to his throne, "What is it now?"
He held his head, and rested his hand on the arm rest. A few minutes later, Dora sauntered into the throne room. Once she got to the center of the room, she bowed.
"Good day your majesty," she greeted graciously.
He sighed, "Stop all this formalities, and go straight to the point."
She sighed, "I have something to tell you," she bit her lips.
"Okay? Go on."
"What are we supposed to do about Kaelos? He wants Klaus."
He arched his brows, "He wants Klaus? All of a sudden?"
"He is a little grown now, he is now seven years old, of course he would want his son around."
Oberon sneered, "He is not getting Klaus just like that. Who does he think you are?"
She shrugged, "The pressure is getting stronger everyday. He keeps begging, and I can not take it anymore."
His lips turned downwards, "This should not bother you at all. He is lucky I am being lenient towards him, I would have finished him off by now."
She sat beside him, "Oberon, I do not know how much more I can resist him. I do not want to lose Klaus to him."
He held his head, "I will make sure you do not lose him to Kaelos. I am not with my son right now, I would not want to lose my nephew too," his voice turned sober.
She held his hand and squeezed it a little. He softly pulled away, "You can go. I will take care of it," his firm voice came back.
She nodded, and stood up, "I should take my leave," she bowed and left.
He watched her leave and clenched his fists, "She is making me bloodthirsty," his lips turned downwards.
"A kill would do no harm right now," he smirked.

"Mother! Mother! I have a kill today!" Archi ran into the cottage.
"Oh thank goodness," she exhaled, and wiped her head.
He brought in his game, and dropped it in the kitchen where she was. He kissed her cheeks.
"What is for dinner mother?" He arched his brows, washing his hands.
"Soup. Now you have brought this, we would have meat as well."
He laughed heartily, "Good one," he exhaled.
"You are doing a good job Archi, thank you so much my child," she touched his face affectionately.
He smiled, "That is not a problem mother, I love you too. Remember we have sweaters to sell tomorrow, I have to go knit the remaining ones. Bye!" He left the kitchen.
She shook her head and continued her cooking. Archi had been of great help to her even though he was just fourteen years old. She sometimes felt guilty for making him work like an adult whereas he would have been swimming back in wealth, back in his father’s house.
She sighed, "When is all these going to come to an end?"
"Mother? Where is the knitting pin? I can not find it."
"Hm? What did you say?"
"I said where is the knitting pin? I can not find it?"
She felt her heart contort with a kind of emotion she did not understand.
"I am coming," she replied, she left the kitchen to meet him in the living room. She arched her brows, "What do you mean you can not find it?" She rolled her eyes, and walks straight to the table, found the pin, and showed him the knitting pin.
He creased her brows, "What kind of magic do you possess? It is not as if you are a vampire or something," he laughed nervously.
Her mind raced back to the moment when she was being chased with Dora by vampires. She was pregnant then. She laughed, "Archi I.."
He took the knitting pin from her, "Hm?"
"I am so sorry you have to live like this. Maybe I am a horrible mother."
He stopped, "Why are you saying this?"
She palmed her face, "There is so much to tell you, and I still have not."
He smirked, "You do know something is still cooking right?"
Her eyes snapped open, "I will be right back."
"Whatever you want to say.. is it concerning why we left the palace?"
She nodded, "Yes."
