Chapter 166: Archi’s wolf

Dora flickered her eyes, as she tried to open them. She yawned, and finally opened her eyes. She looked around, and met the concerned eyed of Elena, and Archi.

"Where have you been?"

Dora blinked, "Mother?"

"Archi, and I have been frantically searching for you everywhere. What happened? Where did you go?"

She sniffed, and wiped her nose.

"I.. was kidnapped," she hung her head.

They gasped loudly, "Kidnapped? By who? Why?"

"It was Neriah’s mother."

"How dare she? Who does she think she is?!"

"The Luna mother."

Elena stopped talking.

"Wait.. Neriah is royalty?" Archi raised his brows.

Dora nodded, and sighed, "Yes, he is. He wants to be king."

"So why does he need you?"

"I am carrying his pup. He wants to secure his throne too," she sat up on the bed, and hugged her knees.

"Oh," Elena sighed, and looked down.

"Who brought you back?"

"He did," she answered simply.

Elena ruffled her hair, "Oh, I am so sorry you had to go through all of those. Do not worry, Oberon will soon return, and he will sort everything out."

She hugged her tightly, "Thank you mother."

"I will tag along too," Archi pouted.

They turned to look at him, and Elena laughed, "Oh no my dear, it is way too dangerous for you."

"Why not? Who said I am not strong enough?"

Dora rolled her eyes, and tapped his forehead playfully, "Oh, shut up."

He sat on the bed close to her, and embraced her, "Both you, and the pup is safe, no need to worry about it."

"It is... It is. Thank you."

"Is Oberon not back yet?"

"No."

"What is taking so long?"

"Overcoming Aegis would not be so easy I guess. There would be battles, and of course, it would take a while."

"So we are staying without them for a few days?" Archi pouted.

"Yes dear," Elena caressed his hair.

"Aww," his shoulders drooped, "I miss them already," he sounded sad.

"They will be back soon."

Dora looked at the ceiling, "I.. am hungry."

Elena nodded, "Of course, I will go prepare something for you. Hold on," she rushed out of the room.

Archi waited till she was out of earshot, and leaned in closer to Dora.

"I had a dream last night," he whispered in her ears.

"What was it about?"

"In the dream, I saw father wearing a kingly robe, and a crown. He also had a scepter in his hand, and a lot of wolves were bowing before him."

Dora arched her brows in surprise, "Interesting. Does this mean Oberon must have defeated Aegis?"

"I think so," he nodded enthusiastically.

"Hm, I do hope so. This dream of yours have given me some hope. A few days from now, Oberon will come here, and lead us back to the palace."

He clapped, "I know right? That would be really nice."

She rubbed her belly, "My pup will be safe from those evil wolves who just care about themselves!"

He patted her back, "I am here with you. Nothing will happen to you while I am here."

She smiled softly, "Thank you so much my dear," she spread her arms, and he hugged her too.

There was silence for a moment, then Elena broke the silence.

"Dora? Would you like some shrimp in your lean beef?"

"Yes Mother!"

"Okay, good."

"Dora, one more thing. There is something else I want to tell you."

"Okay."

"I.. think.. my wolf is already.. waking up," he whispered the last part.

Dora gasped, "What? How is that possible?"

"I do not know. I noticed this yesterday."

"You are still six, you will be seven in four months time."

He nodded, "I know. I thought it was usually from the age of sixteen?"

"Well.. yes. Sometimes, it wakes up when you are eighteen years old. My wolf woke up when I was eighteen. How come yours is waking up at seven?"

He bent his head, "Maybe I am weird. I might be something else."

She shook her head, "No. Do not think that way. Just keep observing yourself for another week. If it keeps happening, then we will think of something."

He rested his head on her shoulder, "I am getting scared. What if this is a sign of something bad?"

"It is not," she patted his head, "It might be something very good. Do not worry. Your mother would know better."

Elena came in with a wooden tray containing the lean beef, and the shrimps.

"Here you go my dear. All done," she set it before Dora.

She dived in, "Oh! Finally!" She chewed on her shrimps hungrily.

Archi snorted, and shook his head.

"Is something wrong Archi?" Elena creased her brows.

Fur began to sprout all over his face, and arms.

Dora choked on her food seeing such a sight. Elena screamed, "Archi! What is the matter?"

"What? He was right," Dora muttered to herself.

"Do not tell me your wolf is already waking up!" Elena gasped in horror.

He growled, and yelped, and howled loudly. He jumped off the bed, and hit himself against the wall.

"Oh my goodness! What do we do?" Dora cried, and got off the bed.

Elena darted her eyes around, thinking of a best solution.

"I.. do.. not know. I have never heard of or encountered any such case before," she panicked.

"We can not just watch him! He is in pain, can you not see it?"

Elena ran out of the room to go get lavender oil.

Archi ripped his shirt off still growling in pain.

Dora’s heart went out to him. She walked to meet him, and began to stoke his head, "You will be fine, you will be fine,. please calm down."

He tried to break free but Dora gripped his hand, and pinned him with all her might, and continued stroking him to calm him down.

Elena rushed back in with lavender oil. The scent of the oil filled the room, tingling his senses, and he calmed down a bit.

Elena felt relieved, and went over to him. She used the oil, and applied some of it on his face, and arms.

"There, there, calm down okay?"

The fur in his face, and arms began to recede till it was smooth skin beneath.

Dora held her chest, and breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh, thank the moon goddess."

Elena patted his head, "Oh dear, your wolf is waking up."
