The Alpha's long lost heir
Chapter 164: Paralyzed...

Chapter 164: Paralyzed...

Oberon squinted his eyes in suspicion.

This feels wrong,’ he thought to himself.

"I know this came as.. a surprise," Aegis coughed, and held his chest, "you should know, I am sorry."

"This feels wrong. What do you have up your sleeve now?"

He shook his head slowly, "What could I possibly be thinking of?" He turned his head to look at him.

Oberon straightened his head, "Make him sit up."

Two of them, walked to Aegis and helped him with on the floor.

"Aegis what do you want?"

He shook his head slowly, "No, I do not.." he groaned lowly, his face contorting with pain, "I.." he stopped talking, as he writhed in pain.

Oberon watched with a disinterested look in his eyes, "tch."

"Take them to the Crimson Den," he ordered.

They took Aegis’s guards one by one to the Crimson Den, leaving Aegis behind.

Aegis watched them as his guards were being taken to the place he despised. He had always hated the Crimson Den, but had thrown a lot of people in it.

That was the place Kael had died too.

He sighed, and shook his head.

"What is up with this apology of yours?" Oberon asked when it was just both of them in the throne room.

"I am just sorry," he coughed.

Oberon frowned, "It does not feel that way," he shook his head.

"How can I.. prove it to you?"

"It feels fake. I just do not believe you would suddenly feel sorry. Not after what you said about am hour ago."

Aegis tightened his lips, "is it a crime being sorry? What? What is.. wrong if I have a change of heart?"

Oberon rested back on his throne, "hmm."

Aegis looked up at him, "Oh, have mercy on your once ignorant uncle."

He looked away, the look in his eyes growing sinister.

’I feel he is trying to play games with me. If I eventually heal him, he might turn against me,’ he squinted his eyes in thought.

"What are you thinking? You still think I am untrustworthy?" Aegis’s eyes drooped.

"As if, that is not what you are. I can not just trust you. I have made mistakes before. I do not plan on making more," he said, more to himself than Aegis.

"Well, well, still building yourself I see," Aegis gasped, his eyes diluting.

"Just die already," he caressed the throne’s arm rest.

Aegis threw his head backwards, ’This child actually wants me dead. Ugh.’

He brought his head downwards, "Well, I.. do .. I.. you do not want me to live? You do.. not want to give me another chance?"

"Give you another chance? To live? Oh, I do not think so."

"What? I thought you wanted to fix your mistakes?"

He closed his eyes, "Fix everything with Nyx.. not you."

Aegis sneered, "Ugh.. you have not even marked her yet, what do you think you can fix?"

His eyes widened, and he fluttered his eyes open, "Wait.. that.. is true. I have not marked her as mine," he smacked his palm.

"Yes.. yes.. you are welcome. Now will you spare me?"

He growled at him, "No!"

"Ugh! Do not be so mean! You can not chose your mate over me!"

"You are not even close to her in any aspect. Listen.. let us stop talking about her.. we should focus on ways to kill you."

"At least do not use the Crimson Den," he said quickly, and gasped, darting his eyes.

"Hmm. The Crimson Den would kill you too quickly. I want you to die slowly."

Aegis blinked, ’Is this the fantasy of the young Lycans now?’

"What is with you and.."

The door burst open, "Your Majesty!" One of the wolves who had accompanied him broke in.

"What is it?" Oberon got to his feet.

"One of them... The one who is Faunana by name.."

"What? Did he escape?"

"He killed himself."

Aegis eyes popped out of their sockets, "What?"

Oberon blinked, "Killed himself? How?"

"He had ripped out his heart."

Oberon’s jaws fell.

Silence...

"He actually ripped out his own heart!" Oberon exclaimed, his eyes widened with surprise, and interest.

"He had said, it would be better he died, killing himself, than dieing by the hands of children."

"I thought you had bound his hands?"

"We had to unbind them so we could bind them with the chains poisoned with silver. Before we knew it, he had quickly stuck his hand into his chest, and ripped out his own heart."

Oberon didn’t know why, but somewhere in him felt proud of Faunana. Faunana had repented of what he did, and had chosen to die a good death.

"Wrap his body. I will tell you what to do with it later on."

He bowed, "Okay your majesty," he left the room.

He faced Aegis, "He died a good wolf."

Aegis was speechless. He dropped his gaze, wondering what had led Faunana to think that way.

More silence...

Oberon walked towards him, "It is time you became paralyzed."

He took out wolfsbane from underneath his robes.

Aegis shook his head, "No.. no.. not wolfsbane.. please no!"

He applied it to his legs, causing them to burn severely.

"There you go."

Aegis cried out in pain. Blisters appeared all over his legs. His legs went numb, and it kept burning deeper.

Oberon sighed, and knocked him out.

====

All of the wolves he had earlier called to Battle with him, stood before him.

He bent his head, gratitude written all over him.

"I do not know how well I can thank you all. You just came to my help, and still went on further assisting me even though you do not know who I am."

"We are forever ready to help a good wolf in need," the one who was their Beta spoke up.

"May I know which pack you are from?"

"The neighboring pack."

He squinted his eyes, "Oh? I do not recognize you. Where is your Alpha?"

"Oh, we killed him," the Beta grinned.

He arched his brows, "Oh my, why?"

"He had contacted Aegis to kill our Lycan Kael so he would become Alpha."

Oberon eyes widened, "Kael is dead?"
