Chapter 134: Aegis at stake 2

"Archi!" Nyx screamed, running to meet him.

Aegis managed to stand up, "I am not done with you yet!"

Oberon forgot about Aegis momentarily, running towards Archi. Dora in panic, rushed to meet him on the ground.

"Oh my goodness, is he okay?"

"Aegis, what have you done?!" Nyx screamed at him, her heart tightening with rage.

"Archi.." Oberon held him in his arms.

Aegis grinned, he made a signal, and more Lycan guards came running out.

"Take them all," he said softly.

Some of them ran towards where Oberon, Nyx, and Dora was, around Archi.

None of them seemed bothered by them, all their concern was on Archi.

"Archi.. are you hurt?" Oberon asked him.

He shook his head, "it only hit my arm. I am fine," he managed to say.

Nyx was boiling with emotions, "Aegis you devil!" She screamed.

Aegis rolled his eyes, "do not watch them display their madness, get them!"

Archi was too weak to even look at the guards, Aegis had struck his arm hard. He buried his face in his father’s bosom.

Oberon ignored the guards who had surrounded them, and faced Aegis.

"You almost killed my son," he whispered.

"He is not dead yet? Hmph, I should have aimed for his heart then," he laughed sarcastically.

Oberon stood up, his eyes getting cold.

"I think I have considered you for too long. The facr that I respected you as my uncle was just a mistake," he clenched his fists, "I will make sure I kill you."

Aegis scoffed, "you are quite the stubborn one, took after your father huh? I will finish you off first," he growled.

The guards pressed in on them.

"Take care of them, they should be well taken care of," he grinned.

"Come on. Let us go lock them up in the Crimson Den."

Dora gritted her teeth, thinking of a way to distract them. Her eyes lit up with an idea, she suspected these pack of Lycans might have sensory overload, and it would lead to disruption of senses.

She stood up. She inhaled heavily, and closed her eyes, allowing her energy flow through her veins. She lifted her face, and spread her arms.

With a deep breath, she muttered the words of the old ritual.

"

"Από τις κροτίδες καλώ βροχή, και τα ύδατα (From the taps of the heavens, I summon the rain, open up, and let thy waters flow.)

The air around her began to shift and swirl, as if the very fabric of nature was responding to her summons. Dark clouds gathered, heavy with moisture, and the wind carried the scent of ozone

ύετός! (descend, rain?)"

The skies opened, unleashing a torrent that pounded against the earth.

The rain threw them into panic. Dora, herself was not so immune to the rain, but she had no choice.

Oberon blinked his eyelids, "Dora.. what.. did you do that for? How are we supposed to concentrate?"

"You just have to try your very best! This was just to disrupt their senses!"

He wiped his face, and turned to look at Archi again, "Nyx! You have to take him somewhere away from the rain! Quick!"

She nodded, and carried Archi in her arms, she quickly ran with Archi in her arms to find shelter.

Aegis, and his guards were now confused. The rain had completely disrupted their senses.

"What have you done?!" He yelled at Dora.

Dora clenched her fists, "Oberon, be prepared to fight them," she squinted her eyes.

He nodded, "I will try my best," he shook his head trying to stay in focus.

Aegis dripped his sword, panicking. Dora saw this as an opportunity, she ran towards him, and took his sword.

Oberon wanted to follow her, but he was getting distracted. He tried hard to focus, the rain was overwhelming. He was getting a sensory overload.

He breathed heavily, "Dora.. I do.." he wiped his face again.

Dora hissed, swinging the sword at Aegis. He saw it coming, and tried to dodge it, but he turned in the wrong direction, and the sword his his left arm.

He fell to the ground, his heart beating fast. He knew if he continued this way, Dora would kill him.

He decided to rely on his other senses.

His guards were totally confused, and could fight no one.

Dora swung the sword again, but Aegis was lucky to dodge it.

He groaned, as he crashed into the wall, trying to escape. The rain has rendered him completely useless.

"I will kill you before you try killing others!" She yelled, going after him. She swung the sword, and it hit his back. He fell on the ground face flat.

Nyx and Archi had found shelter, and she tried her best trying to tend to his wounds.

Oberon was trying hard to join Dora. He never knew the rain would affect him this much.

"Too bad I have a Lycan’s weakness’s but not the powers," he groaned.

His attention was drawn to one of the guards who was trying to get to where Nyx and Archi were. His eyes widened, he wouldn’t let anything happen to both of them.

He turned in their direction, though his movements were slow, he tried his best to get to where the guard was.

With a heavy blow, he struck the guard down. He struck the guard again, and again knocking him out.

He gritted his teeth, "Dora is taking care of Aegis, let me get to Archi, and Nyx first," he muttered.

He walked slowly, and painfully to where Nyx, and Archi were.

"Are you okay?" Nyx asked.

He nodded, "I am fine, just trying to battle my sensory overload that is weighing me down."

"We are few compared to the Lycans here, there is no way we could finish them off even with the rain," she blinked, her heart racing.

Oberon sighed, "I.. do not know what to do. The rain is making me weak, I almost can not do anything," he groaned.

Aegis, defeated and helpless, gazed up at Dora with pleading eyes. "Mercy, Dora... please," he begged, his voice trembling. "I do not want to die."

Dora’s expression remained unyielding, her grip on the sword tightening. "You should have thought of that before you tried to kill Archi," she spat, her sword flashing in the dim light.

With a swift motion, she struck, aiming for Aegis’s chest. But he dodged at the last second, and the sword sliced through the air, mere inches from his face. Dora’s eyes widened in surprise, and she raised her sword for another blow.

But just as she was about to strike, a bolt of lightning illuminated the dark sky, striking her hand and sending her stumbling back. Aegis took advantage of the distraction to scramble to his feet and make a run for the palace.

"No! Come back here!" Dora shouted, clutching her injured hand in pain.

Aegis did not look back, disappearing into the darkness of the palace. Dora’s eyes blazed with fury as she gave chase, but her injured hand and the relentless rain slowed her down.

Oberon, still struggling with his sensory overload, stumbled towards Nyx and Archi. "We have to get out of here... Aegis will not stop until he kills us all," he warned, his voice strained.

Nyx nodded, her eyes wide with fear. "We cannot take them on in this state... we need to find shelter and regroup."

Archi, his arm still throbbing in pain, nodded in agreement. "We cannot let Aegis win... we have to protect ourselves."

As they spoke, the storm raged on, the lightning casting eerie shadows on the walls of the palace. Dora’s scream echoed through the night, her pursuit of Aegis halted by the bolt of lightning.

And in the darkness of the palace, Aegis smiled to himself, his heart still racing from his narrow escape. "This is not over," he whispered, his eyes gleaming with malice. "I will finish them off, no matter what it takes."

Nyx nodded, her eyes scanning the darkness. "There must be a way to escape... a secret passage or something."

Archi’s face set in determination. "I will find it. I know this palace like the back of my hand."

As they moved deeper into the palace, the storm raged on outside, its fury unrelenting. But within the walls, an even greater danger lurked. Aegis, fueled by his thirst for power and revenge, would stop at nothing to eliminate them.

Suddenly, Archi halted, his head cocked to one side. "Do you hear that?" he whispered.

A faint noise echoed through the corridor, growing louder with each passing moment. Footsteps. Heavy, deliberate footsteps, coming from the depths of the palace.

"It is Aegis," Dora growled, her sword at the ready. "He is coming for us."

I replaced "It’s" with "It is" to write the abbreviated verb in full. Let me know if you have any other requests!

As Aegis vanished into the palace, Dora’s determination only grew stronger. She gritted her teeth, ignoring the searing pain in her hand, and pressed on. Oberon, Nyx, and Archi followed closely behind, their senses still reeling from the storm.

"We need to get out of here... Aegis will not stop until he kills us all," Oberon repeated, his voice firm.
