Mark was kindling a fire, "It is almost kindled, I think you can come and start cooking."

Selena brought the pot to where he was and placed it on it.

"Finally, dinner is sure," she smiled weakly.

He nodded,"I am sorry you have to pass through all this, I promise to get another metal steamer, just be a little patient."

"I am patient, I understand, just do not inconvenience yourself for it, we could still manage the firewood."

"If you say so," he got up and pecked her cheeks.

"Hehe," she blushed and began her cooking.

The door was broke open, both Mark and Selena were startled.

Guards rushed in, "Oh, he is at home today, how sweet!"

Mark creased his brows, "What did I do?"

"Come on! Seize him!"

Selena gasped and came to stand in front of him.

"What has he done? Leave him alone!"

"He has been accused of being an aid in the kidnap of the Alpha’s heir!"

Mark frowned, "Why would I do that?"

"Are you asking me that?" The guard got angry and struck him at the cheeks.

Selena was shocked, "What has he done? Why are you hitting him?" She cried.

Mark didn’t fight back, he sighed, "May I know who accused me of this?"

"That is not for you to know here, come with me!"

They grabbed him and dragged him out of the cottage but Selena ran after him, "Where are you taking him to? Let him go! Please let him go!" She cried.

"I would not want it to be turned against you, please distance yourself from us," the guard warned her.

Mark turned to face her, "Selena, please go back, I have not done anything wrong, so hopefully this will be resolved."

"But, why are they dragging you in this manner, what have we done?"

"We have done nothing, please go back," he said calmly.

"Go back!" The guard yelled at her but she refused.

"No! I am not going anywhere! I will go with you," she told him.

Mark tried to tell her to go back but she refused, "No, I will not go back, if they want to take you anywhere, let them take me with you," she sniffed.

"Then grab her also, since she wants to be stubborn," the guard was already pissed off.

They grabbed her also and dragged her along with them.

"They are here your majesty," they dropped them roughly before the Alpha.

Oberon stood up from the throne, "Mark?"

He raised his head and looked at him in the eyes.

"Your majesty?"

"What have you done?" He asked calmly.

Mark maintained a calm face, "I have done nothing your majesty," he said calmly, "I do not know why I am being accused wrongly."

"Accused wrongly?"

"Yes your majesty, I have done nothing," he replied.

" Why do you say you are accused? There are proofs against you," he said.

"Proofs?" He frowned.

"Yes, proofs, witnesses," he said.

"How can this be?" He cocked his head to the side.

Two she werewolves came into the room led by a guard. They were led to the spot where he knelt.

"Remember these two?"

Mark squinted his eyes and frowned, "I do not know them, I have not even seen them before," he shook his head.

"Are you sure? Look at them closely," Oberon pointed at them.

Mark took another close look at them and shook his head, "I do not know them your majesty, maybe you should ask them where they know me from," he shrugged.

Oberon squinted his eyes darkly, "Ask them?"

Mark bowed his head, "Yes your majesty, ask them," he answered as politely as he could.

Selena cried, "He did not do anything, he has done nothing wrong, please let him go your majesty," she sobbed.

Oberon was pissed, he maintained a calm face so as not to show his anger.

"It is best if you remained silent, I did not ask for your opinion," he sternly warned her.

She palmed her face and sobbed quietly, "Please let him go," she sobbed.

He turned to the witnesses, "Go on, say what you have to."

One of them cleared her throat, "He is the one responsible for your heir’s sudden disappearance."

Mark raised his head and looked at her with a surprised look on his face, "When did I do that?"

Oberon raised his hand signifying him to stop talking.

"Say no more," he interrupted.

"As I was saying your majesty, he was the one who is responsible for your son’s disappearance. He was ordered by a Lycan to carry out all these."

"We saw this, since we were appointed to work at the garden that particular time, but they were too strong for us, so I could not save him," the other she werewolf chipped in.

"Exactly, that is what happened," the first one said.

"Why did you not run to the king and report the incident immediately? Why let him kidnap the pup before coming to say anything?" Mark threw a question.

"We.." she was thrown off balance, looking for a question to answer to that.

"Why ask her such a question, when you are clearly the one at fault here?"

Mark looked at him, "I have done nothing wrong your highness, why would I kidnap your heir? What would make me do that?"

"Because, you have done something similar to that," he replied.

Selena looked away, and sniffed, feeling attacked by his statement.

Mark closed his eyes and exhaled, "I would never kidnap your pup, I might have done a bad thing to you once, but I would not do something this evil," she said firmly.

Oberon drew his head backwards, "Is that so?" He arched his brow.

"Yes your majesty, and I stand by what I am saying," he kept his firm face.

Oberon twisted his lips and looked somewhere else, Mark was not flinching at all and kept saying he didn’t kidnap Archi.

He propped his chin in thought, "Throw him in the duegon."

Selena’s heart skipped a bear, "In the duegon? What has he done?" She screamed.

Mark didn’t try to resist, he looked at Oberon and shook his head, "I have nothing with which to defend myself but, I do know I have done nothing wrong. I shall be avenged one day."

The guard grabbed his hand roughly, "Stop saying nonsense, none of us needs to hear this right now," he said.

Selena ran to Oberon’s throne and fell at his feet, "Your Majesty, please let him go, he has done nothing wrong, let him go please," she cried.

Oberon sighed and gently shoved her away, "Please, do not make anything more tiring for me, just go away," he said.

She cried loudly, "If you are taking him to the duegon, then take me with you, I will go with him!" She said.

Oberon squinted his eyes, "You want to go with him?"

She nodded fiercely, "Yes, I am going with him," she said.

Oberon wondered why, "Hm, well, if you say so, that is your choice," he shrugged.

She ran to the guard and held onto Mark’s hand, "Let me go with him," she told the guards.

Mark looked at her, "No, you should not come with me, go back," he told her but she refused.

"Please, Selena, go back, you can not come with me," he tried to persuade her to go back but she refused.

"No, I will not leave you alone, I am coming with you," she said.

The guards shook their heads in irritation and took a hold of her too.

"They have been put in the duegon, so they are the king’s suspect for now," a maid told Risa.

"Phew, when did that happen?"

"Early in the day, that should have been the early part of the morning."

Risa held her chest and sighed, "Oh, thank goodness," she wiped her forehead.

"Is that all?"

"That is all my lady, nothing else," the maid affirmed.

Risa nodded, "Okay, there is no cause for worry then," she exhaled deeply, "You can go," she excused her.

The maid bowed and left the room.

She closed her eyes and rested back on the bed, "This is going well, a little too well," she chuckled, "Now, I should not worry about Oberon suspecting me because he is not," she grinned.

She felt pleased, "Poor Mark will not know what hit him," she shook her head, "I just have to keep myself out of any trouble, if not he would not have to go through all this" he ," she rolled her eyes.

Another guard came into her room. "My lady," he bowed.

"Yes?"

"I have some news," he said.

"What is it?"

"They.. your captives.. they are gone," he dropped the bomb.

Her eyes widened and she got down from the bed in shock, "Huh?"

"They are not there any more," he kept his head bowed.

She stood up in a rage,"What? Where did they go?! How could you let them go just like that?"
