The Alpha's Blind Fate -
Chapter 344: Marital Bliss
Chapter 344: Marital Bliss
ZINA
The feeling of being cuddled up to Daemon, naked body against naked body was indescribable. And that was exactly because that feeling was nothing but home.
In his arms, with their bodies melded as one, she felt like she could go against the world and conquer it at the same time. It was a feeling that she had missed for the better part of her life without knowing what it was.
But now, she could define it clearly... at least to some extents.
Daemon kissed her neck, his arm pulling her back further into him.
Zina smiled even though she could not see his face, allowing it.
"You worked really hard this morning," he muttered while his fingers caressed her back deliciously.
Zina dissolved into laughter. Trust Daemon to use the strangest words to describe their intimate time together. "Back at you as well. I would say you worked the hardest, seeing as you were determined to punish me."
Daemon groaned, "Should I ever set my eyes on Jacen Vampage, he wouldn’t escape with his life intact."
Zina froze at that. His words forced her turn to face him properly. He had said the words so easily but his eyes held stealth that said he was hardly joking.
"How did your informants also hear that Jacen referred me to his mate?" Zina said out loud, figuring that was the only reason Daemon would want to kill the son of an Alpha. But without realizing she had made a grave error for Daemon’s eyes hardened to ice points.
"What did you just say? That asshole called you what? His mate?"
Oh no. So he hadn’t heard that?
’Of course he hasn’t heard that,’ her wolf who had been purring from sexual bliss said suddenly, ’that shameless man had whispered the words so low that it almost escaped me as well.’
Zina wanted to slap the damn voice away for pointing out her momentary foolishness just like that.
It hadn’t occurred to her to think that far, and now Daemon expression demanded further explaination.
"Tell me all the things he said," he growled lowly, not disguising his murderous intent.
Zina chuckled awkwardly. "You must not have known, but he seemed drunk to me. He even reeked of spirit," Zina said carefully with a non chalant shrug that was aimed at underestimating the seriousness of the situation.
But it seemed she was only digging herself in a far bigger hole for he said. "Just how close were you both standing for you to smell the alcohol in his breath?"
Zina narrowed his eyes at him. "You know you’re being ridiculous, right? Nothing could ever happen between me and Jacen Vampage. Not even if all the men in the world died."
Zina didn’t know why she added the last part of sentence, but she had only been hoping to convey the gravity of the intended meaning of her words.
Daemon found it funny instead for he chuckled, his hands darting out to caress her cheeks. "Naturally as you are mine in all sense of the world. Mate and wife."
Zina smiled up at him, hoping the conversation was over. The last thing he needed was Daemon cutting off yet another man’s hand just because of her.
Political tension wouldn’t do them any good at that time. They needed all the allies they could get and Zina knew that because she sensed that a war was coming soon.
Not sensed giving that she had seen one happening for herself.
"What else did he say to you, wife? Your evasiveness only tells me he said something else."
Zina groaned internally. "He drunkenly
said he missed me." He groaned, enunciating drunkenly, but as far as she was concerned Daemon might not have heard that in the first place. But he did hear the other words because he cursed under his breath, swearing to kill Jacen.
"Daemon please, we can’t afford more political tensions right now." Zina attempted to be the claimant voice of reason.
She knew there was no telling the man what and what not to do, but at least in her case, she had always had success in that regard with him.
"I believe I can afford one more."
Zina leaned up to him until her breasts were pressed against his hard chest. Then she cradled both sides of his face with her hands.
"He truly was drunk. Sparing him any attention because of stupid words will only flatter him. He is a loser, best we forget about him. Besides, I got my petty revenge on him so that evens it out."
Daemon seemed to peer at her as if trying to gauge what was on her mind. Finally, he caved in. "Fine. But he and his father are banned from stepping foot into the Arctic North."
"And on what grounds is that?" Zina questioned playfully, her eyes narrowed at him.
"On grounds of raising my ire." He snapped.
"Hmmm...." Zina acted as if she was thinking about the rationale, "I believe such a reason doesn’t exist in the law."
"Well as from today it’s a law." He groaned, pulling her closer to him. "How dare that imbecile attempt to speak to you and even spew words that he missed you?" He complained, still disgruntled.
It was obvious he was dissatisfied with Zina’s attempt to convince him to let it go. "Can I at least kill him in private? I assure you, no one would know I did it." He pleaded like a child whose candy had been unfairly taken away from him.
Zina snuggled up to him, pecking him on the mouth. "Between I and killing Jacen Vampage which do you prefer?" She asked in a playful voice while staring intently at him.
Daemon groaned out loudly, "The answer is obvious of course."
"Then leave it. When everything is over, you can have your revenge then."
"Fine." He acquiesced reluctantly, "I guess I will channel that energy of mine into working hard to make a family with you," he said while Zina froze for a second.
How to tell this gorgeous man before her that they had been successful in that endeavor and that she was far too scared and afraid to reveal it to him.
Recovering quickly, she smiled a glassy smile, hoping that he wouldn’t notice the sheen of tears in her eyes. "Let’s do just that. Let’s make a family, Daemon."
And they made love all over again.
