Chapter 325: Worried For Nothing

ZINA

Zina’s fears were momentarily allayed when Ablanch reported back that Seraph had made it past the city’s gate without any incident.

Breathing a little bit easier, she asked Ablanch to reach out to Sybril with a letter as the elderly woman was the only one who could make contact with the Heralders.

Seraph making it past the gate was one thing, but what if she never made it to the North Heralder. By logic, she shouldn’t be back until another two hours at most, so Zina didn’t know why she was worrying so much.

It’s not like that wasn’t the first time she was seeing something grossly inaccurate. They might not have been visions, but in her past dreams she had seen things that ranged from borderline comical to downright unbelievable.

One time, she had seen her head being cut off by the Alpha of the WolfKnight Pack, and another time she had seen herself throwing hot water at Jacen Vampage. The latter dream was the most comical because she didn’t even know what the man looked like.

She had never seen Jacen Vampage.

So why was she being so paranoid at that moment and on a good day at? Seraph screaming on her vision must have been a scene contoured by her subconscious due to the calming nature of the bath that she had dipped herself in.

That made perfect sense.

Nonetheless, Ablanch took her letter to Sybril, and two hours later, the woman made it back with a most surprising visitor.

Yuri NorthSteed.

The four year old girl ran to her m, engulfing her in a hug with her tiny fingers. "Theta!" She squealed causing Zina to smile and the tension that held her shoulders captive to ease up a bit.

Zina hugged the girl back. "Yuri."

It seemed as though the young girl had grown taller, or perhaps it was Zina who was growing smaller.

"Are her classes over?" Zina asked Sybril who shook her head.

"The princess insisted that she must be present for the wedding of her uncle and future aunt. Not like the attendants at the academy could hold her back from her request."

Yuri frowned, "I cannot believe you didn’t invite me, Theta."

Zina smiled, "I never thought it was possible to take you out of the Academy before official closing time. Besides, it’s just a small wedding, nothing of import."

Yuri’s eyes widened and she turned to Sybril. "Did she just say a small wedding? Theta, for how long have you been cooped in your room? Do you know what outside is like."

Zina grinned, ruffling the girl’s hair. In the strangest of ways, Yuri looked so much like her mother and managed to retain the ethereal beauty that Bella BloodMoon once boasted of.

"It’s a whole party at the castle. People are parading themselves in their wolf forms, Theta! I even saw a grey hound wolf! Elder Sybril says it’s a Lycan Shifter!"

Zina frowned while carrying Yuri into her inner chambers, Sybril tagging along. "Is that even allowed?"

Sybril nodded. "It’s a traditional thing. On the day the Alpha King is to take a mate as Luna Queen, male shifters parade in their wolf forms believing that they can attract their fated mates on such as auspicious day."

"Oh," Zina simply exclaimed. "But the wedding is not until afternoon."

"It’s already almost mid afternoon Theta, the preparations must have made you loose track of time."

Zina hadnt lost track of time; how could she when she had been counting the hours till when Seraph was supposed to be back at most.

Evidence of the law hours counted was the fact that every part of her body was scrubbed throughly from her hair to toe nails leaving her with the most delicious, achy feeling in the world.

Remembering why Sybril was there in the first place, she probed just as she plopped on the bed with Yuri following after with a giggle. "You recieved my letter?"

"I did," Sybril said with a tone of disapproval, "no matter what, you must not strain or stress yourself Theta. Your worry is uncalled for." The woman finished, her eyes resting on Zina’s flat belly.

"I was merely worried," Zina said without delving into the fact that she had seen a vision, "Seraph is usually very diligent and would have been back earlier seeing as today is my wedding." She said because that explaination made more sense.

Sybril didn’t seem to buy that explaination. If anything, the woman frowned harder. "Theta, a royal wedding is being held. Naturally, city patrol is tougher and stricter. Even with your seal as Theta, Seraph will not be able to navigate the city as fast as she should."

Oh. Zina hadn’t even thought about that. S he had been so worried that logic had eluded her.

Zina chuckled in a bid to ease the awkwardness in the air. "Is that so? I almost forgot." She said, looking anywhere but at Sybril.

"Did something happen Theta?" Sybril inquired in a gentle voice.

"Not at all." Zina said, realizing that she had probably been worried for nothing. How could she not have realized that it was a special day so it would be harder for Seraph to reach the outskirts of the city as easily as she should.

She would be thankful if the maidservant got to return before nightfall.

The woman sighed as if she had just realized what could be responsible for the tension, "You mustn’t allow your hormones to take over you especially at a time like this. You will be standing and facing thousands today. Most of them foreigners who are here to see the Luna Queen long prophesied on different occasions to either be destruction or a savior. You must prove to them that you’re the embodiment of all things far beyond their thoughts and imagination... and in the best of ways."

Zina nodded, understanding perfectly well where Sybril was driving at. Ever since the deceased and former Theta Amelia left her in Sybril’s care, it has always been about this. And Sybril more than ever believed that the path that faced her was more than fate— it was prophecy fulfillment instead.

"I understand. I shall collect myself better."

"Good. Now shall we allow the hairdresser to come do their work on your hair. You might not know it, but I hear that royal hair required of a Luna Queen takes no less than two hours to make with five pair of hands on deck."

Zina’s jaw dropped open, same as little Yuri who like every other girl in the world, started listening in in their conversation once Sybril mentioned the matter of making her hair.
