"And why should I apologise?" The woman snapped angrily in a voice that was hardly breathless, but almost didn’t sound like that of a woman.

It was a girl’s voice, Marcus realized.

He raised an eyebrow, his amusement wiped off and nowhere to be found. Of all the discoveries in the world, that definitely was a new one.

His eyes appraised the ’woman’; from the dainty silk that she wore, to the way her neckline was exposed as if she was beckoning on a man to bite and take her. She only reached her chest which was quite tall for a woman, but seeing as she was not one in the first place, Marcus became interested in why on earth a girl was in such a place like this.

And not any girl, but one who cosplayed like a damn woman way too well.

"Your name?" He probed, tightening his grip on her. Something like lightning passed through her stormy eyes, and Marcus feared that the girl was more than prepared to fight her then and there. And hell, wasn’t he anticipating the show that would turn out to be.

But before the girl could react, the registrar interrupted them with an uncomfortable clearing of his throat while his wide eyes looked from her to Marcus.

The man shifted uncomfortably as if he was witnessing something far too obscene. "Kaliga, with due respect, the woman belongs to another. Perhaps I can find you far more interesting entertainment?"

That was the problem there, Marcus didn’t imagine there would be something far more interesting than the woman in his hands. "Far more interesting entertainment?" He repeated, "aren’t I look at just the thing." He said with a wiggle of his eyebrows.

Meanwhile, Fionna the amateur certainly didn’t like this man they called Kaliga. Not only was he obstructing her from attending to a far more important part of her mission, but he was becoming a nuisance with the way he so skillfully trapped her body in his powerful hands.

Fionna had heard about Kaliga, one of the most skillful merchant from the United Arctic North. But of all the things she had heard about the man, she never believed strength was particularly his strong suit. And yet the man before her seemed to possess ample of it.

There was an overwhelming urge to murder the man just for touching her. She might be a Red Sister, but she would only be touched when she submitted herself to such.

When the man didn’t move despite the registrar’s intervention, Fionna growled in a low voice. "Let me go, fool!"

The man only seemed more amused at that, and she could clearly see it in his dark brown eyes that were almsot the same color as her hair. The only thing that seemed more enraging than his blatant disregard for her was the fact that his features remained a mystery. With his face covered and only exposing his dark ominous eyes, however could she track the man later and skin him alive?

But then, the man leaned into her, his lips hovering by her ears. "Fool?" He repeated in a delicious drawl that did scandalous things to her body, "at least I am not fooled as to your true age, girl."

Fionna froze, but her shock only lasted for a moment before next thing, the man released her waist abruptly and she was falling to the ground.

If she were any other person, she would have landed squarely on her butt. But she was Fionna the Amateur, and all her trainings kicked in at that moment. Her legs darted out, holding her weight at an impossible angle while she twirled mid air few inches from the ground until she landed on her two feet like a graceful panther.

She was too quick for the registrar or the man’s companion to track her movements. But unfortunately for her, the man who called himself Kaliga seemed to track every dainty move of hers like he was a fighter himself.

Fionna hissed, turned, and then left the place before she would expose herself any further.

No one had been able to tell, not even Alpha Dale, so how did the man come to the knowledge that she was not the twenty-year old hostess that she had posed herself to be.

She shook her head while discreetly making her way to the secret meeting place where she would report her progress to the Red Sisters. She would have to be very careful from now onwards; her identity was the core of her mission and she just had one day left before she would finally see to the big success she had worked hard for for six months.

If things were to go awry now, her dreams to become a Red Hand at the age of fourteen would only puff into the air as a sea of smoke. Tomorrow’s auction was a big day for her; it was the day that would change or maim her life, so she would not allow anything to interfere with it.

When Fionna was sure she was alone at the meeting grounds, she whistled the peculiar spy sound of the Red Sisters, and almost immediately, a Red Sister appeared from nowhere and approached.

"Fionna the amateur." The Sister called in a haughty, almost bored out of her mind voice.

"Superior." Fionna gritted while she bowed down as was expected of her.

"What is your progress so far since your last report?"

"Alpha Dale claims he loves me so much he would love to have me back with him to the West."

The Sister chuckled, her beady eyes appraising Fionna. "I can see why he would foolishly want that. Save for your true age, every other part of your is quite enamoring. How have you responded?"

"As I’ve been directed, I have made him believe that he can only free me of my slave status by trading in diamonds. I’ve of course been very subtle about that. He also believes that introducing Diamonds to the Elites of the West will make for a far more charming market takeover than colored stones."

"Good. It seems you’ve him in all places. Remember that failure is not an option Fionna. The Scarlet Mother awaits your success tomorrow. All the high powers in the East are secretly waiting on you."

"I shall see this through with every fibre of my being!" Fionna chanted, determination and stealth shinning through her voice.
