The Alpha's Blind Fate
Chapter 203: Perfect Experiment

Chapter 203: Perfect Experiment

Somewhere at No Man’s Land in the Iron Coast of the West.

MOON (Earlier on The Day of the Coronation)

That night was the first night of the full moon. Earlier that same day, news of the coronation of the Alpha King of the North had swept all over the lands. Every man knew of the coronation that had shaken all of Vraga whether by choice, or by force.

If not for the fact that thousands of spectators were heading to the capital, then it would be for the fact that many packs were still grumbling over the loss of elite members of their Pack whom have decided to find greener pasture in the ice cold castle of the Arctic North— either as one of the elite four that would be the Alpha King’s Beta, Delta, Gamma and Enforcer.

Prophets and prophetess have now become a rampant thing as they all say that the hands that crowned the Northern King will raise him to unimaginable heights; hands that belonged to none other but the Theta of the NorthSteed Pack also chanted as the Great Seer. The very Theta who had originated from the GreenLands of the East and still managed to dominate the Arctic North.

However, worse rumors carried about saying that while the Theta was busy getting rid of her vows for the Alpha King who is her mate, the Alpha King in fact intended to also put up the position of the Theta for the grabs of the ’best man’.

Whether the rumors were true or not didn’t really matter; what truly mattered was the fact that among the influx of spectators and guests flooding into the North were people who proclaimed themselves as Seers capable enough to dominate the North and replace Zina WolfKnight.

But while all these were happening just that morning of the coronation, the man who called himself the Red Wolf waited impatiently for news from Freya Fergus whom he had sent on a mission to activate the spell in the very staff that held the essence of their finest experiment.

He was in the cave that was his Master’s abode, and the more the clock ticked, the more time stretched without any news.

He was impatient. Just a few days ago, word had gotten to him that Daemon NorthSteed had snuck into the West to look for a man whose description suspiciously sounded like his very own self. The Red Wolf would have been impressed with the fact that the Northern King had managed to catch a whiff of his existence, but considering how very inconveniencing it was, he was rather not impressed.

The agreement had been that day... that day being the full moon when Daemon NorthSteed would be crowned, then the staff would be activated. Already, Freya had reported that she had successfully managed to get her hands on it, so all that remained was to perform the spell.

However, once it struck the time for the spell to be activated, the mirror that they had been using to monitor Freya shattered into a billion pieces that stung his eyes and every other part of his body.

Annoyed, he removed them while his supreme wolf healed him in mere milliseconds.

"Your weapon is dead, and so is the means to activate the amulet...." His Master drawled, clicking his tongue.

An unnatural man surfaced from a ball, missing his lower limbs, but possessing long sinewy hands and a head way too big for his half-body. His bald head possessed sparser strands of hair, his eyes were sunken making his face reminiscent of that of a bare skull, and he possessed a limited number of teeth.

The Red Wolf bowed, while he gritted. "My apologies, Master."

"Apologies...all the time you’re apologizing. What is too hard with retrieving just one woman! Especially one that we have bred carefully for all the years. Does it give you joy to see my state?! Don’t you know she is the future of a wolf greater than all that I’ve imagined? Don’t you understand that she will be even fiercer and much deadlier than the deformed?!"

The Red Wolf bowed again, his body shaking with rage as he raked his head on how to word his next words. The man before him might look nothing more than a quarter man, but the Red Wolf was well aware of his master’s capability.

"Master..." he started, shutting his eyes as if to ask for some strength from above, "has it not occurred to you that perhaps Zina WolfKnight is a failed experiment?"

When the Master said nothing, he rushed to explain. "She was cursed and abandoned to be alone, but I’ve heard that Daemon NorthSteed favours her in a way a man would his equal; she still remains a level five shifter when she is supposed to be a wolf greater than all, and her humanity has not wavered for once. Perhaps, could we be mista...."

Before the Red Wolf could complete the words, long sinewy hands reached out, grabbed him by the neck and flung him hard against a rock partition that shattered on the impact. The Red Wolf fell freely to the ground, his face smacking against the hardened floor and causing him scratches and a dislocated shoulder.

They all healed in an instant while he staggered up, bowing to his Master.

"I apologize for speaking out of turn," he said, but his voice hardly sounded apologetic.

"You mock the hard work that I’ve built for years!" His Master growled through sparse teeth while fragments of rock freely fell from the cave to the ground.

"You spite the work we’ve put in! Do you know when we started? From the days we instigated the execution of the Screamers Pack to the day we snuck out their one true blood daughter. Knowing the amount of hard work we have put into this venture, how dare you demean it all?!"

The Red Wf said nothing and simply kept his eyes turned to the ground.

"Zina WolfKnight must be the most successful experiment in all the experiments we have done! Prophecies have foretold it, dynasties have been brought down in anticipation of her birth, I shall not take anything less than a perfect experiment! SHE MUST BE A PERFECT EXPERIMENT!"

The Red Wolf was saved from having to answer when a shrill scream tore out in the cave. His Master’s sunken eyes swiveled around like a ball as if he was searching for the source of the unnatural sound.

"Was she not drugged?" He asked, referring to the woman they had held captive for decades.

The Red Wolf was already walking towards the direction of the noise that was the most unusual thing they had ever heard in the cave in the past twenty-four years. He didn’t stop until he reached the partition of the cave that housed a woman bound by silver chains on every single part of her body.

The Silver Chains were on every part of her body wrapping her like a corpse. It was obvious that there was no chance for her to escape. Even if another sought to untie her, it would take twenty-four hours to untangle the mess of chains.

The woman hung in the air, her bound limbs dangling beneath her while her eyes were open as if in a daze, exposing only white while she stared intently at something that hung in the air before her.

"She activated the ruins of the Screamers Pack?" His Master growled from behind him, unnatural limbs walking towards the woman. "How is it possible when she doesn’t possess the power of the Screamers Pack?!"

The Red Wolf was in awe too as he stared up at the activated ruins that hung in the air... dancing as if a very powerful being was controlling it. It glowed an otherworldly light that could even beckon on gods, and he was sure that was the first time it had been activated in a century.

"It is not her that activated it," the Red Wolf gasped, "it must be her daughter."
