The Alpha's Blind Fate -
Chapter 161: What His Wolf Says
Chapter 161: What His Wolf Says
Refer back to ’Chapter 134: A Look Into The Future’ for Zina’s first encounter with Norima Talga
ZINA
Sprawled on the table for all to see?
He didn’t like to share?
Was there an end to Daemon being so... like this.
Honestly, Zina loved the attention. But she dreaded the day that attention would cease to be.
’Stop focusing on negativity.’ Her wolf growled, the sound startling her once again. She squealed against her intention, and Daemon’s eyes flitted to her, his eyes holding amusement.
Zina bit her lips, almost ashamed. She had only served to inflate his ego when in reality it was the wrong timing of her wolf that caused her to squeak like a damn mouse.
’Shut up.’
She growled in her head, hoping the furry thing would hear her. It was honestly strange to hear her wolf speaking to her and she intended to speak to Sybril about it.’Make me.’ Her wolf taunted back, and Zina pushed out the feral things voice away from her altogether. She could only deal with one nemesis at a time, and Daemon had already taken on the role.
"Surely you’re not that turned on?" Daemon whispered to her, refilling his wine glass, while she rolled her eyes. To anyone that was looking at them, it didn’t seem as though they were speaking from that vantage point. At least, it didn’t seem as though they were speaking of very dirty things.
More like an Alpha addressing his Theta in very serious subject matter.
"Does your wolf usually speak to you?" Zina asked instead, ignoring his taunting question.
It was an innocent question from her side, but there was nothing innocent about the way Daemon’s eyes cooled like molten magma when she said the words.
Blatantly, he turned to face her squarely, his drink hovering over his lips as he swirled the contents of his glass.
"He does speak to me." He said in a low timbre voice that caressed her ear lobe and caused butterflies to flutter madly in her stomach, "care to know what he says?"
Zina stared at him like a caged rabbit, and maybe she was one. His eyes were like that of a predator, circling its prey, and she felt like the prey alright. So even knowing that his question towed the path of decadence, she still asked.
"What does your wolf say?"
The space between them grew thinner until it was there no more as he answered without skipping a beat.
"Claim her. Mark all of her till every part of her belongs to us. Take her until there’s nothing else left for any other man to take. Strip her of her goddamn vows and just...take her."
The world around Zina drowned into a noiseless puddle while the intensity of his words rendered her speechless as she stared at him stunned. She swallowed nothing, then opened her mouth to retort, but no words came out of her lips. So she shut them again, simply staring at him.
She was saved from having to speak when footsteps sounded before their table as a voice announced her presence. Zina turned to the culprit, and to her dismay, it was Norima Talga.
She was no longer grateful for the save.
The woman was dressed in a green forbidden dress that had almost all of her breasts spilling out. The dress was a straight cut that possessed a harrowing slit that almost reached her upper thighs.
Her lips were a bloody red that complimented her golden red eyes and was in great contrast with her albino skin. And her hair was tastefully made, the bunch of it resting gracefully just above her breasts.
She smiled, bowing to Daemon while showing more cleavage than was necessary. The material that barely held her breasts captive was stretched and Zina could almost sweat that the thing was at the danger of bursting till all her buttons spilled and clattered to the phone.
"Norima Talga of the Night Mages greets the Alpha King Daemon NorthSteed."
"It’s Restorer Daemon NorthSteed, but you can stand." Daemon responded in a bland voice, and Zina supposed she should be in glee at that fact, but no, the invisible strands of jealousy still tugged at her heart.
Besides, during the uneventful encounter she had with the other woman when she inferred that she had appeared naked before Daemon, Norima hadn’t bothered to dispute that fact.
Which made Zina think that the words she had thrown out distastefully might hold some element of truth. Daemon must have indeed seen Norima Talga naked.
There was no denying that Daemon was an experienced man. Hell, she didn’t expect the man to have been celibate. But the thought that he did it with this woman who was now after her life left a sour taste on the tip of her tongue.
As if hearing her chaotic thoughts, Norima shot her a brief heated look as if to remind her of their last encounter. Her haunting last words naturally replayed in Zina’s mind.
"Our ancestors saw you where you sat on the throne of the Alpha King as the true blooded Alpha-Luna Queen. And then you reigned over a world ravaged by blood."
Zina could see that Norima was so sure that she would bring dearth and death to Daemon so she had taken to trying with all her strength and might to prove the woman wrong.
Since Daemon wasn’t exactly forthcoming about it, Zina had taken the bold step to investigate her own background. Honestly, she cared no more for who her real parents were. All she cared for was to avert this doomed curse in the form of an ancient prophecy that hovered over her and Daemon’s life.
She would not be tied down by it, not when she herself was the seer of all.
Norima smirked at her, and then faced Daemon squarely, a look of nauseating adoration, taking over her features. To prevent herself from puking, Zina picked a drink for the first time that night, sipping just a little of the alcohol.
"Do the Night Mages not find the food and wine to their taste?" Daemon asked impassively, sipping at his wine. His free hand was still gripping Zina’s waist, although he had at least stopped trying to bunch her dress up.
Norima shook her head. "The food and wine is just right. On behalf of the Night Mages, and my father, Saber Talga, I’ve brought you a gift." She announced, presenting a sealed scroll to Daemon.
He took it from her, but otherwise did not open it. But Norima wasn’t done, if anything, the woman seemed quite content to reveal the content of the letter to any who could hear as she announced in a boisterous voice.
"The Alpha King is the Steed of the North. Before Eldric the Damned, your father too saw the importance of the king’s harem to bolster his descendants who will spread out to become Alphas of their own lands. It is for this reason that the Night Mages offer you the true daughter of the Alpha as your wife."
The drink Zina was holding almost slipped from her hand at the very dramatic announcement. One would think Norima was referring to another daughter and not herself.
Zina gripped her glass of drink, refusing to show any emotion. It had become abundantly clear that both the WolfKnights and the Night Mages hardly held her bond with Daemon in high regards. Honestly, she should have seen it coming. And she knew more people were on their way to thrust their daughters on the Alpha King who conquered the Arising Rogues, the DireWolf Pack, and who might just conquer the whole world.
And she must start getting used to it. If not, the green colour of jealousy would be all she could see for days long. And that was the exact same colour that Norima wore.
Talk about hitting the nail on the head.
