The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 83: Unexpected Rescue
Chapter 83: Unexpected Rescue
“Don’t worry about me, Your Highness. I will be...” I said before a loud sound disturbed the peaceful atmosphere around us.
What was that just now?
I could tell that the prince was as surprised as I was at the sudden sound that came from above us. The sharp sound of glass breaking echoed loudly from above us. My eyes instantly followed the direction of the sound as I tilted my face upwards to see what was going on.
“Shit...” Prince Florian muttered darkly from close to me.
I gasped as my mouth dropped wide open when a part of the glass ceiling above us shattered and then a blurry movement of something falling down caused the water in the large pool to splash loudly at the impact of its entrance.
“What...” I murmured in complete disbelief.
The blurry mix of red, white, and gold just now that I saw falling in through the ceiling turned out to be a man. Slowly, I watched as the figure stood up from the water. What appeared to be his full-rank uniform of white, red, and gold was completely drenched along with his blond hair. His blue eyes were a menacing stare as they seemed to glower at Prince Florian and me.
He didn’t just...enter through the ceiling now...did he?
We’re going to be killed...
“Oh, good evening to you, Leo...” Prince Florian said with an amused chuckle.
His words and his attitude are going to get us both killed...
“Florian!” Prince Leonard yelled so loudly that it felt like he had just roared.
“Why are you so mad? I should be the moody one. You just literally jumped in to disturb my bath with Mila...” Prince Florian complained as he pushed me roughly behind him.
Prince Florian is completely naked, and Prince Leonard is completely furious. That was the only thought that ran through my head as I stood behind a very-naked Prince Florian.
“Get away from her!” Prince Florian yelled loudly.
The authoritative command of his voice echoed as it bounced off the walls of the bathhouse. Prince Florian didn’t seem bothered by his brother’s rage at all. It was surprising how calm he was as Prince Leonard waded through the water toward us.
“Prince Leonard...” I murmured his name as fear gripped me.
Please, don’t let this turn into a fight. Although I wished for him to come and rescue me, I didn’t think that things would turn out like this. Plus, Prince Florian had already agreed to let me go and had stopped all his playful teasing.
“Get out of the water now!” Prince Leonard shouted at me.
“Y-Yes...” I mumbled as I backed away from Prince Florian towards the edge of the pool.
Suddenly, there was a slamming sound from behind me. I whirled around to see that someone had opened the door with a loud bang. The door was unlocked, and I was shocked once again to see the identity of the person who had proudly and calmly stridden inside the bathhouse.
“Let me help you...” Prince Darius said in a gentle voice as he quickly came to the side of the pool.
His grey eyes were calm and the gentle smile that he offered me made me feel that everything was going to be just fine. He reached out a hand towards me to offer me assistance in getting out of the pool. Hesitantly, I placed my hand into his and let him help lift me out of the pool.
“Can you stand? It’s fine now. I’m sure you were so scared. Florian can be mean sometimes, but he usually doesn’t mean any real harm...” Prince Darius said as he supported me up on my feet.
“Right...” I murmured.
I doubted his words because I felt like Prince Florian was mean and he does mean real harm. Although, he was kind enough to back away when I felt sick...
“I told you to wait until I got the keys to the front door. Why won’t you listen?” Prince Darius yelled toward Prince Leonard.
The two brothers were still staring at each other as if they were about to tear out each other’s throats in the bath. Prince Darius, who seemed to be the most well-composed out of all of them, stood by my side and shook his head.
“You should come with me, Mila. Let’s leave those two to sort out their issues...” Prince Darius suggested.
I knew that he might be right; however, I couldn’t stop myself from glancing over at Prince Leonard. He didn’t meet my gaze and his attention and anger were purely directed at Prince Florian.
“Darius! Why didn’t you stop him? Now there are shards of glass everywhere in the water!” Prince Florian complained loudly with his back still turned towards us.
“I tried...” Prince Darius replied without much care.
“You both know that I use this bath most often. Why did you have to ruin it?!” Prince Florian continued complaining.
“I honestly don’t think you should be worried about that right now...” Prince Darius muttered coldly.
“Leo, I don’t know why you’re so angry when you don’t have the right to be,” Prince Florian said casually.
I couldn’t move from where I stood. My attention was wholly captivated by the two brothers as they conversed with each other. The atmosphere was tense, and I was scared that violence could break out. Prince Darius waited next to my side as he also looked on at his brothers’ quarrel.
“Stay away from her, Florian...” Prince Leonard ordered coldly.
“Rules are rules. As long as she isn’t yours, she is just a maid, and I can play with her whenever and wherever I want. Isn’t that right, Darius?” Prince Florian spoke up loudly and confidently.
Rules. What rules?
“Florian is right. Leonard, Florian has not broken any rules. I’m going to take Mila back first...” Darius said solemnly.
“I told you so. I didn’t do anything wrong. She’s not yours and she doesn’t even have your scent on her...” Prince Florian said as he lifted his hands up and shrugged carelessly.
The two brothers continued staring at each other and I had no idea what they managed to communicate to one another through that pressure-filled silence.
