Chapter 65: Setting Him Free

Although I said that, I wasn’t even sure if I could remove the chains to free him. My eyes traveled along the chains as my mind worked hard to figure out how to start freeing him. Suddenly, my eyes fell on a very large lock that seemed to be holding the chains together.

“Please wait just a while longer,” I whispered when I finally found a way to free him.

All I need to do is unlock this lock and to do that I needed a key.

A key...I need a key...

‘What is this for?’

‘You’ll figure it out when you’re inside,’

Prince Darius said that after he gave me the key. That key that he gave me is for this lock. Is that it?

Does he want me to unlock and free his brother?

I was so confused, and my hands wouldn’t stop trembling as they held the large and heavy key in my hand. While biting down on my lower lip to help myself focus on the task at hand, I reached for the large lock and began fumbling with it. The large chains holding the prince down were thick and so heavy. I could hardly move it even by pulling on it with both hands. I couldn’t hold the chain properly while still holding the large key. I changed my approach to fumble with the lock instead as I tried to fit the key into it.

“Don’t...” the prince murmured.

My attention returned to his face, and I saw him wincing as if in pain before another groan escaped his lips. He gasped when he sucked in another breath. My heart clenched painfully at the painful expression that he had on his face.

“What?” I whispered questioningly because I wasn’t sure if I had heard him correctly.

Please wait for a moment longer, my prince. I’m going to help you right away.

My hand moved to fumble with the lock while trying to fit the large key into it. The lock looked old and had intricate patterns that looked like vines and roses on it. It looked as if the vines of roses were binding the lock in place. My eyes lingered on the design for a second before my attention solely focused on fitting the large and ancient-looking key into the keyhole.

Please work. Please unlock...

The prince began moaning while muttering something that I couldn’t comprehend. He was in such a delirious state that I started fearing for his life. His body writhed against the chain and that yanked the lock away and out of my grasp. I almost cried out in frustration before I reached for the lock again. This time, I managed to fit the key into the keyhole. Thankfully, contrary to its old and worn appearance, it wasn’t hard for me to turn the key.

The key turned smoothly and finally; the lock was unlocked. Quickly, I tugged on the chain until I managed to completely remove the lock.

There! I finally did it!

So much joy washed over me along with my own relief. I have finally freed the prince now I just need to pull the chain away from his body. Just when that thought occurred in my mind, the chains started moving and sliding along his body as if they had a life of their own. The thick metallic chains looked like metal snakes as they started to move. Prince Leonard growled loudly and for the first time, a shiver ran through my body at how his growl resembled that of a wild animal.

It must be my own imagination...

That was when I realized that the chains did not move on their own, but the prince’s movements were causing the chains to move as they loosened from his body. At least he seemed to have the strength to struggle against the loose and heavy chains now. I breathed a sigh of relief as I watched the prince slowly sit up on his bed.

“Prince Leonard...” I called his name softly as I approached his side.

I peered into his face to see that his eyes were still closed.

“Ahh!” I cried out in surprise.

His eyes suddenly opened; however, his blue eyes that I always admired for their beauty had completely changed. The aggressive blue stare of a wild animal stared back at me. My body reacted automatically by jumping back; however, my reaction couldn’t beat his in speed. I numbing pain shot through my wrist and then my arm and I looked down to see his large hand gripping my wrist.

“Prince Leonard!” I cried out his name as his action shocked me.

Without warning, he yanked and pulled me down onto the bed. I landed right on top of his hard body and his arms were around me and then his hands were all over my body. The heat of his body seeped into my skin through my clothes. His body felt unusually hot like he had a high and burning fever. I pushed my palms again his chest and that was when I realized to my embarrassment that his upper body was naked.

I gasped as his arms wrapped tighter around my body. The heat of his body and his scent enveloped me and filled my senses. I tried to struggle but it was no use. He was so big, and he was so strong.

“Prince...Leonard...” I whimpered his name to get his attention.

The attention that I got wasn’t quite the kind of attention that I was looking for. His hands began stroking their way down my back to the curves of my waist. A small whimpering sound left my lips as he began caressing the sides of my waist. His blue eyes stared directly into my face and for a moment, I couldn’t tear my gaze away from him. It was the strangest feeling to be staring so deeply into his eyes as his hands moved down to caress and massage the curve of my hips and then my buttocks.

I felt the slightly cold air in the room on my upper thighs and then my ass when he flipped the skirt of my dress upwards to expose my lower body to his exploring hands. The slight coldness evaporated in an instant when his hot manly hands groped and touched my buttocks.
