The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 401: Letting Go
Chapter 401: Letting Go
"What is going on? Is Asana really the sister that you’ve been looking for?" Prince Leonard asked, and I could tell that he was finding this hard to believe.
"Yes, I finally found her. More accurately, she found me," Roxanna replied, and her voice took a little. It felt like the two of them were about to cry tears of joy, and I was finding it hard to keep my tears from flowing as well.
"Maybe we should give them some privacy," I suggested.
After glancing one last time at Roxana, Prince Leonard followed me out of the room. To my surprise, Prince Darius also followed my suggestion. Of course, I was happy that Roxanna could spend time alone with her sister because I was searching that there were so many things that they needed to catch up on; however, that also meant that I found myself in the company of the two princes. I had to say that the atmosphere between the three of us was extremely awkward. Prince Leonard did not waste any time before demanding for more details from his elder brother.
"Tell me what happened? How did you know that she’s Roxanna’s sister?" Prince Leonard asked with widened eyes.
"She asked me for a favor after serving me. When she told me about her sister’s name and what she looked like, it wasn’t hard for me to connect the dots," Prince Darius replied emotionlessly.
"But why didn’t you tell me before? You knew that I was helping Roxanna look for her," Princess Leonard said with frustration.
"It’s not my responsibility to do so. I also didn’t want her to learn about our secret. In case you’ve already forgotten, we’re supposed to keep Roxanna’s case a secret. There will be a bunch of trouble if the public finds out about her case and what happened," Prince Darius said sternly.
"You mean they would finally learn just how twisted and rotten the royal family is and how far they’re willing to go and who they’re willing to use just to make sure that an ultimate Alpha gets born?" Prince Leonard said without hiding his distaste.
"It doesn’t matter what you think. You might not care about anything, but I don’t want to deal with any damages if the news were to leak out. At first, I never intended to tell Asana about her sister," Prince Darius said coldly.
"So what made you change your mind?" Prince Leonard asked.
"I don’t know. Maybe it was just out of pity," Prince Darius replied without alluding to any more details.
"Anyways, I’m glad that the two sisters are now finally united," Prince Leonard said, as if he was very satisfied with the conclusion.
I had no idea that Prince Leonard had been helping Roxanna locate her sister. Who would have thought that the sisters ended up at the palace together?
"I bet Asana had a very hard time finding her sister," Prince Leonard said before letting out a sigh.
"Of course, she wouldn’t find her sister anywhere in the palace, no matter where she looked. It definitely did not cross her mind that her sister was experimented on and that she was in an unconscious state," Prince Darius said in agreement.
"Do you still need Asana?" Prince Leonard asked Prince Darius very directly. I knew that Prince Darius had mated with Asana at least once, but I didn’t know anything else about their relationship.
"I don’t need her," he replied without any hesitation.
"Well, if that’s really the case, then I guess you won’t mind if we were to send them on their way together," Prince Leonard said as he stared directly at his brother.
My eyes widened as I stared at Prince Darius in anticipation of his answer when the real meaning behind Prince Leonard’s words came to me. Now that Roxanna had woken up and the two sisters were united, it would be nothing less than a dream come true for both of them if they could leave the palace together. Although Roxanna mentioned that her life wasn’t smooth sailing before she came to the palace, I was sure that the two sisters would be happier if they could live a free and independent life away from the palace. If Prince Darius was willing to let Asana go, then their dream might not be too far from reality after all. For Roxanna’s case, I was searching that Prince Leonard would do anything for her now that she had woken up.
"That is my intention as well. If Asana wants to leave with her sister, I will make sure that she gets her wish," Prince Darius said after coming to a decision.
"Thank you so much. I’m sure that will make the two of them very happy," I thanked the prince before I could stop myself. I couldn’t wait to break the news to the two of them that they could live the rest of their lives together in peace.
...
Perhaps it was because Roxanna looked forward to starting a new life with her sister very much that she managed to clear all tests from the hospital and move her discharge forward. Although I was happy for her and Asana, that also meant that the day that we would part ways arrived much sooner than anticipated. Sadly for me, I didn’t get to spend much time at all with Roxanna after meeting her. As unfortunate as it was, I still rejoiced at the fact that the two of them were happy and ready for a new start in life. Prince Leonard and I were there to send the two off on the day that they were scheduled to depart from the palace. Although I had expected Prince Darius to be there as well, in the end, he never turned up.
"If you ever need anything, feel free to get in contact with me, okay?" Prince Leonard instructed as he stared directly at Roxanna. I could feel his worry for her even though I also knew that he had done quite a lot of preparation to ensure that the two would start their new life together smoothly back in their home country.
