The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 211: Awkward Witness
Chapter 211: Awkward Witness
Salena made her way along the hallway as she carefully balanced the tea set on the tray that was in her hands. The hallway was empty as it usually was and that helped her to relax because she didn’t like being around too many people. Salena looked forward to seeing Mila; however, she always felt uncomfortable in the presence of the prince. It didn’t take long for her to arrive in front of the door to Mila’s room. She stood in front of it and took in a deep breath to prepare herself mentally to face Prince Leonard.
Just when she lifted her hand to knock on the door, her hand stopped mere inches from the door when she thought that she heard a strange sound. At first, she thought that she had just imagined it; however, the sound that she had heard repeated itself and got even louder and clearer. Salena’s body froze in shock when she realized that the sounds of a woman moaning and crying seemed to be coming from the opposite of the door. Her brows drew into a frown of worry as she took a small step forward toward the door.
Her heartbeat quickened when the sounds got even louder, and she could clearly tell that a woman was moaning inside of Mila’s room. Since no one else was supposed to be in there apart from Prince Leonard and Mila, she was certain that it was Mila that was making those strange sounds. She wondered if something was wrong as she lifted her hand again to knock on the door.
“Leo...Ahh...Leo...I’m cumming!”
The loud cry that sounded from inside the room made Salena gasp in shock as she finally realized what was taking place on the other side of the door that she had been standing in front of. Her hands shook as her eyes widened in shock. After recovering from her initial shock and she could move her body again, she quickly took a few steps back before turning to press her back up against the wall as if she could hide away. Her hand flew to cover her mouth as she tried to calm the wild beating of her heart.
She stared down at the tea set and the refreshment on the tray that she was holding as she thought that now clearly wasn’t the right time to be offering a tea break to the prince and Mila. Salena closed her eyes before letting out a long sigh. It was clear that she had just heard something that she wasn’t supposed to. Although she could have guessed what Mila’s relationship with the prince was like, she was still stunned to bear witness to their lovemaking even if she didn’t see them engaged in the act. Her face burned hotter than before as she started to blush even at the thought.
It was shame that Jessie’s efforts would go to waste but she couldn’t bring herself to knock on the door after what she had just heard. When she was certain that her legs had stopped shaking and she could walk steadily again, Salena quickly made her way back along the hallway.
When she arrived back at the kitchen, Jessie was waiting for her with a cheerful smile on her face. Salena wondered how Jessie could always appear cheerful and so full of positive energy. The smile on her friend’s face quickly disappeared when her gaze landed on the untouched contents of the tray that was in Salena’s hands.
“What happened? I thought you went to serve them tea?” Jessie asked in confusion.
“Umm...” Salena made a sound as she tried to find the right words.
She was still flustered and she wasn’t sure what she should tell Jessie. It just didn’t seem right to tell Jessie about what she had just witnessed. Although what transpired between the prince and Mila was to be expected and there was nothing wrong with that, Salena still found it hard to talk about it.
“What is it?” Jessie asked as her hands came to rest on the sides of her waist.
“Umm...it’s nothing. They just didn’t need tea or anything...” Salena replied before smiling a little dryly.
“Well, you could have just left it there. They may not want it now, but they might want to drink or eat it later on, right?” Jessie asked before letting out a frustrated sigh.
“They were busy, so I...” Salena tried her best to explain.
“Never mind. You don’t have to worry about it. We can just enjoy this tea and all these refreshments ourselves. It’s probably better than letting it all go to waste anyways,” Jessie said followed by a sigh.
“I’m sorry...” Salena murmured.
“What for? It’s not your fault that they didn’t want it,” Jessie said while waving her hand to dismiss her friend’s apology.
“Ok...” Salena whispered before she placed the tray onto the table in the kitchen.
“So, what did Mila end up cooking for the prince?” Jessie asked excitedly.
“Umm...I don’t know...” Salena replied.
“You don’t know? You didn’t see what she was making, or did she make something complex that you haven’t seen before? A recipe from her hometown, maybe?” Jessie asked with intense interest.
“I’m not sure...” Salena replied vaguely.
The truth was she didn’t even knock on the door to Mila’s room let alone enter into the room to see what it was that Mila was cooking. However, based on what she heard when she was standing in front of the door, she doubted that Mila had done much cooking if at all.
“Well, that’s too bad. I was wondering what she would make for the prince and whether he would like her cooking or not. Then again, if he likes her then I guess he would like everything that she cooks as well,” Jessie said followed by a laugh.
“I guess...” Salena whispered but her mind was elsewhere.
“Let’s clean up here. I can’t wait to get out of the kitchen. Cooking and preparing tea and all that truly isn’t my thing,” Jessie said as she reached behind her to tightened the apron around her waist.
