Chapter 146: Overwhelmed by Him

My breasts were still exposed and so were my legs. I pulled the fabric of my dress over my breasts in an attempt to dress myself up before pulling down the skirt of my dress while ignoring how my wet juices had wetted my inner thighs.

“Can you stand?” the prince asked from behind me after he saw that I had done arranging my dress.

“I think so...” I replied softly.

On shaky legs, I managed to stand up from the rock thanks to the prince’s large hands supporting my body. The moment, I landed on my feet I winced from the renewed pain of standing on shoes that I wasn’t used to.

Prince Leonard got up and stood next to me with his hands on me as if to help steady me. I turned to offer him a little brave smile to try to tell him that I’ll be fine although I wasn’t quite convinced if I could walk all the way back to the car in this state. However, it wasn’t like I had another choice.

To my surprise, the prince took a few steps in front of me before crouching down with his back turned towards me. I cocked my head to the side questioningly because I didn’t understand what the prince was doing.

“Get on my back, Mila,” the prince said as he turned his face around and looked up at mine.

“Excuse...me?” I asked blankly as if I didn’t quite understand what he had just told me to do.

“I said, get on. I’ll carry you on my back,” he offered.

“Why? There’s no need for you to...” I began denying his offer.

“Your feet hurt, don’t they? I’m sorry, I should have realized earlier, and I made you walk so much,” he said regretfully.

“No, it’s not your fault at all. It’s all because I picked out a shoe too high for me and I’m just not used to wearing it,” I quickly corrected his misunderstanding before he started blaming himself.

“We can stop arguing about whose fault it is already. Just climb on my back and let me carry you because I don’t intend to sleep here tonight,” he said to cut off all other arguments.

“Are you sure?” I asked hesitantly.

“Yes. You’re as light as a leaf, so stop worrying about me and climb on quickly,” he said resolutely.

I gulped before I slowly got on the prince’s back and wrapped my arms around his neck. Once he was sure that I was secured, he slowly stood up as his arms looped under my legs to carry me on his back. I didn’t think that I was as light as a leaf like he had told me; however, I couldn’t deny that the prince did seem to carry me with ease.

Although he was carrying me on his back, it didn’t take that long for the prince to carry me back to the car. I guess it was much faster than if I had to walk there myself with the condition that my feet were in. It was a little dark and I haven’t had the chance to examine my own feet, but I was quite certain that I had more than just a few blisters on them.

When I get back to the palace, I’m going to make sure to get my maid’s shoes back and also demand for some flat shoes that were more practical for walking around in. Prince Leonard carried me all the way back to the car and helped me get in. I thanked him in a small voice and was greeted with his smile and a simple nod of his head.

Although we had spent some time in the car together before, it felt very different to be in the car alone with him now. It was probably because of what we did just now up on the hill that made me feel so nervous and so aware of his presence close to me. My lips felt so dry, and I had nothing to say to him. My body still felt sensitive everywhere that he had kissed and caressed me.

“Let’s go,” the prince said when he started driving.

Once again, he didn’t tell me where we were headed but since it was already very late at night now, I figured that our next destination would be where we would be spending the night together. The ride down the hill proceeded in silence as I tried to distract myself from thinking of him by staring at the passing scenery of the nightscape of the city below us.

My nose made a sniffing sound and I automatically blushed when I realized that I had been sniffing at the prince’s scent. The entire interior of the car seemed to smell of sweet roses and with every breath it felt like I was breathing him in.

Why didn’t I realize this when I was riding in the car with him before?

With each passing moment, the smell seemed to get stronger and stronger until the faint smell of roses that I was used to had turned into a strong and intoxicating smell. I glanced over at the prince and wondered if he could smell the roses too or was it just me. My body trembled as the smell seemed to fog up my mind and made my head feel heavy. Suddenly, I felt so restless and flustered that I didn’t know what to do.

“Are your feet still hurting, Mila?” Prince Leonard spoke up suddenly.

I almost jumped up in my seat at his sudden question as my mind tried to focus on providing him with an answer. The moment that I took in another breath of air, I was almost suffocated by the smell of roses.

What is happening to me?

“I’m fine. Can I...open the window for a bit?” I asked in a shaky voice.

“Sure...” the prince replied casually like it didn’t bother him.

I managed to locate the button that would lower the window and soon some air from the outside blew into the car. It seemed to help, and the smell of roses eased for a bit although it didn’t disappear completely.
