The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid
Chapter 141: Mesmerizing Sight

Chapter 141: Mesmerizing Sight

“Call me Leo,” he said.

“What are you doing?” I asked in slight panic.

“Holding your hand. We’re on a date so we should hold hands always,” he said with his eyes already on the road.

Even when we were not on a date like this, he would sometimes hold my hand when we were together. That was what I thought as I looked down at our entwined fingers.

“Can you...please just drive,” I said as I started to worry about the cars behind us.

Prince Leonard flashed me a smile before he laughed softly but he did turn away to focus on driving. I let out a silent sigh which I now knew that the prince could hear when the car started moving. I didn’t know where he was taking me, but I was eager to find out. The large and tall buildings turned into smaller and lower ones as we drove along. After taking a turn, the prince started driving us up a hill.

The road suddenly became quite narrow and winding. Prince Leonard didn’t seem to have any trouble navigating the car along and he did not drive any slower than before. I had to admit that I got a little scared and worried at first; however, that fear was quickly replaced by excitement when I started to see the view when we were high up.

“Wow...” I murmured as I stared out of the window.

The lights from the city below looked like tiny twinkling stars and I couldn’t take my eyes off of them. The magnificent view soon got blocked by dark tall trees and it got difficult for me to catch more than just glimpses of the view again.

“Don’t worry. The view from up there is unobstructed and much more beautiful,” the prince said without much excitement.

“Really? I can’t wait to see it,” I said excitedly.

“I’m glad that you’re making me feel like this is worth the drive,” the prince replied.

It was quite a drive to get us to the top of the hill. I had a slightly strange feeling in my stomach by the time that the car came to a stop. This must be what it meant to be a little car sick. I shouldn’t have eaten so much earlier on, I thought regretfully.

“Come on out,” Prince Leonard said after opening the door on my side.

My eyes focused on his open palm as he offered his hand to help me out of the car. I smiled a little while I slipped hand into his. He pulled me up onto my feet and I discovered that there were slippery dry leaves beneath my feet on the ground.

“Watch your step,” he warned softly.

“Thanks, I will...” I replied.

After taking a few steps forward, I had to wince in pain. I had completely underestimated the challenge of walking in a brand-new pair of high heels. Not wanting to alert the prince, I decided to bear with it and soon I got somewhat used to the pain. I prayed that we didn’t need to walk far.

“Give me your hand,” the prince instructed needlessly.

His hand took mine into his almost immediately and soon our fingers were laced together. The gesture felt so intimate that it made me blush. We continued walking but I realized that the prince had slowed his pace to match mine. He must have realized that I had difficulties walking on dried leaves.

“Where are we going?” I asked in a small voice.

“To the place where we can see the best view,” he replied.

When we finally arrived at our destination, I found out that the prince was not lying at all. Out on a clearing on top of the hill, the seemingly endless view of the night city stretched out before my eyes. The mix of vivid lights felt captivatingly magical, and I found myself staring as if I was completely brought under a binding spell.

“It’s so beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like this before...” I murmured in amazement.

“It is indeed a very beautiful view,” he said as he stood close to my side.

“Do you come here often?” I asked.

“No. I haven’t been here for years,” he replied.

“It’s so pretty...” I murmured again.

I just couldn’t stop staring at the view in front of me. It was quite unbelievable that there was a hill like this in the city. Being up on the hill and looking down made me feel like there was so much more that I haven’t uncovered in this kingdom. The city felt much larger than I had imagined now that I could see the city light stretch endlessly in front of my eyes.

“It should be starting soon...” the prince whispered as he looked down at his watch.

“What will be starting soon?” I asked curiously as I turned around to face him.

I recalled the prince mentioning something similar before on our way here, but I didn’t know what he was talking about.

What is he waiting for? What is about to start?

“Turn around...” the prince instructed softly.

I felt his hand on my shoulders and then he was turning me around to face the night view of the city again. However, instead of letting me go, his arms moved to circle my body before pulling me back a little against his hard and larger frame.

“Prince...Leo...” I called his name before catching on to my mistake.

“Good girl...” he whispered endearingly into my ear before he kissed my temple softly.

I gasped at the sensation of his warm lips brushing against my skin as he pressed his lips a little lower against the side of my face. His arms tightened around me, and I could feel his body warmth envelope my body as he held me close to him. I could smell his familiar scent every time that I breathed in.

He’s so close to me...

I could feel the prince’s body against my back as he kept his arms wrapped around my waist and hugged me from behind.
