Chapter 139: Teasing Dinner

I bit down on my lower lip as I hesitated. He did call me by my name, but I found it hard to call him by his name, and now he was telling me to call him by his nickname. If I recalled correctly, his brothers called him by this same nickname as well.

“Excuse me...” the prince called out and waved to a waitress who was standing a distance from us.

The woman signaled that she would be with us in just a moment before she quickly started serving the customers at the table that she was at. After he had attracted her attention, he returned his attention to me. The way his blue eyes sparkled mischievously told me that I was in some sort of trouble now.

“I’ve decided to help you make up your mind. Call me Leo before the waitress gets over me. Otherwise, I’ll kiss you,” Prince Leonard said before he smirked at me.

I hated all his little plans to get me to do what he wanted me to. My eyes glanced over at the waitress that he had just called, and I could tell that it wouldn’t be long before she arrived at our table. He’s not thinking of kissing me right in front of her, is he?

Although that question ran through my head, I already knew the answer. That was exactly what Prince Leonard had in mind and to prevent that...

“Oh, she’s on her way over here already...” the prince informed me casually.

My heart leapt in my chest as I started to panic. Even though all he wanted me to do was call him by his nickname, I also knew that it came with something more because if I called him by his nickname once, he would demand that I do it all the time. There were already so many rumors about my relationship with the prince that it had even made the king have misunderstandings about my relationship with the prince.

“Make up your mind, Mila...” he coaxed sweetly to me.

I turned to see the waitress heading right for our table with a pleasant smile on her beautiful lips. Prince Leonard’s stared at me from across the table as he rested his chin in the palm of his hand. I pressed my lips into a thin line as I struggled to make up my mind. It didn’t seem like I had a choice. I glared at the prince in displeasure before I pouted at him.

“Leo...” I whispered softly.

I doubt any normal human would have heard me at that volume; however, my intended audience wasn’t a normal human being.

“How may I help you?” the waitress said cheerfully when she arrived at our table.

“We’d like to order...” the prince replied before smiling politely her way.

His blue gaze shifted to me before his lips curved into an amused smile. I watched as Prince Leonard ordered food for us and then a glass of fresh orange juice for me. He seemed to be in a much better mood than before which meant that he must have heard me.

“My nickname isn’t supposed to be the world’s best kept secret so you can say it a little louder than that,” the prince said teasingly.

All the games he apparently liked to play with me were driving me insane. I heave a soft sigh which I now knew that he could hear before reaching for my glass of orange juice and sipping on it. The prince laughed softly as he stared at me from across the table.

“I’m glad that I could entertain you...” I muttered sarcastically.

“You always manage to entertain me,” he said in such an unfazed way.

I wondered if all dates were supposed to be like this, and then I doubted it. The food tasted delicious, but I had a problem eating in front of the prince. I didn’t quite have this problem when I spent time together with him before I found out his identity. It felt like we were closer, and we got along better back then but maybe we’re closer now too but in a different way.

“Try this...” Prince Leonard said as he directed his fork my way.

My eyes fell to the food on the tip of his fork before my gaze shifted to his face. My heart felt like it was about to stop beating when my eyes met his mesmerizing blue ones. The prince slowly moved his fork closer to my face and I didn’t know how to react to the fact that he clearly wanted to feed me.

“Umm...I can eat my myself...” I murmured as I suddenly felt extremely shy.

“I want to feed you,” the prince replied quite bluntly.

“Umm...I...Mhhmm...” I protested before I felt the warmth of his steak slip between my lips.

I took the food into my mouth and started chewing on it as the prince watched me with a satisfied smile on his lips. Because I was too conscious of the way that he was watching me too closely, I couldn’t focus on tasting the food at all, but I assumed that it must have tasted good. I swallowed and washed it down with water.

“It’s good, right?” the prince asked with a confident smile.

“Yes...” I replied in short.

“The food probably tastes a lot better because I’m the one feeding you,” the prince said with a chuckle.

My eyes widened when his fork approached my face again. I wondered how many times he’s going to feed me until he was satisfied as I obediently parted my lips for him to gently feed more steak into my mouth. The way his beautiful blue eyes seemed to twinkle at me in amusement told me that he was probably having a very good time.

“I think I’m full...” I told him after honestly having had enough food.

“Already? I think you’re too skinny so I thought I should fatten you up a little...” he said before trailing off with a little laugh.
