Chapter 126: Ultimate Alpha Prince

“An Ultimate Alpha is an inferior man with beast-like tendencies because he has a rotten beast inside of him that is hard to control,” the man said with clear distaste.

“Prince Leonard...” I murmured as my eyes widened in shock.

Why is the prince here?

Prince Leonard strode into the room dressed in a dark blue suit that brought out the color of his hair and highlighted the color of his intense blue eyes. Madame Sand was as stunned as I was at the sudden and unexpected appearance of the prince.

“Prince Leonard...” she said as she bowed politely.

I quickly did the same and bowed to show my respect. The sound of the prince’s footsteps echoed softly against the floor until I could see his shoes in my field of vision and feel his gaze staring down at me.

“Enough bowing...” he muttered emotionlessly.

I stood up straight again and found out that I was right about him staring at me. Although I knew that Prince Leonard could enter and roam around the Sacred Chambers freely, I didn’t expect him to turn up here.

Did he come to see me? Why?

“Thank you for your dedication to your work, Madame Sand,” he turned to thank the madame.

“It is my honor, Your Highness,” she replied smoothly.

“As much as I appreciate you teaching Mila, there is no need for you to do so anymore,” he stated flatly.

“With all due respect, Your Highness, but Mila is required to study and understand at least the basics of her role as an honorable maiden...” she said calmly.

“I am aware of that and that is precisely why I will be the one to teach her,” the prince replied before the corners of his lips curved slightly upwards.

Prince Leonard’s surprising suggestion must have caught the madame off guard because she became visibly flustered and at a loss for words. The same applied to me. I had no idea what he meant when he said that he wanted to teach me himself.

Why would he want to do something like that? Wasn’t he supposed to be busy with his official duties?

“I understand. Thank you for your kind offer...” Madame Sand finally replied after a moment of hesitation.

“Mila, let’s go to your room...” the prince said to me.

Before I could say anything, the prince had already turned on his heels and made his way towards the door. I glanced over at madame as I appealed to her with my eyes on what I should do next. She gave me an approving nod of her head before letting out a sigh of resignation.

“Mila...” the prince called my name sternly.

He had stopped in the doorway to wait for me, and I knew that I shouldn’t keep a prince waiting. After bowing slightly to Madame Sand, I quickly followed Prince Leonard out of the room. Just as he had instructed, I led the prince to the private rooms that just had been assigned to me. The elevator ride and the walk to my room felt painfully long and the silence made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The way my dress seemed to swish around when I moved reminded me of how inappropriately dressed I was, and that did not make me feel any better at all.

“This is my room...” I murmured when we arrived.

The prince waited for me to open the door to the room for him. He did not hesitate before entering and soon we were alone together in the living room of my new suite.

“Do you like your new room?” he asked casually.

The prince looked around the room a little before sitting down on the sofa while I stood nervously right in front of the closed door. I wondered why he came to see me and why he wanted to educate me himself instead of letting the madame do her job.

“I-I think that it is too spacious for me to live here all alone...” I replied in a small voice.

“I see. Should I move in here to live with you?” he asked as if it was supposed to be the most natural conclusion.

My mouth hung open in astonishment and I was completely speechless. Prince Leonard’s blue eyes glanced over at me before he started to chuckle at my expression.

“Sit down next to me,” he instructed as he patted the empty spot on the sofa close to him.

I immediately did as I was instructed and sat down carefully next to him on the sofa. The prince seemed very relaxed as always while I felt extremely alert and nervous around him. The words he used to explain the definition of an Ultimate Alpha bothered me. It was as if he was explaining his personal circumstances and that would mean that the prince is an Ultimate Alpha.

“Thank you for coming to see me, Prince Leonard. I...really appreciate it...but I don’t want to trouble you with my lessons. Madame Sand can...” I said as I tried to select my words carefully so that I wouldn’t end up offending him.

“Why must you learn what an Ultimate Alpha is from someone else when you have one right here?” he asked as he cocked his head to the side at the ridiculousness of the idea.

“Well...” I murmured.

“There is nothing special about an Ultimate Alpha. Being a werewolf isn’t something fun or amazing either. It’s a life full of inconveniences and being an Ultimate Alpha just magnifies all of those troubles by a million folds without much benefit...” the prince said coldly.

I wasn’t sure whether I understood correctly what an Ultimate Alpha was supposed to be or mean; however, it was clear that Prince Leonard did not enjoy being one.

“So, it’s true that you’re a wolf?” I asked before I could stop myself or my curiosity.

“Yes and no,” he replied before he grinned at me.

“I don’t understand...” I admitted softly.

“I like to think that there’s a wolf living inside of me but that doesn’t necessarily make me a wolf. However, it’s not like I’m possessed by a spirit of a wolf either. It’s not that simple. The wolf is a part of me, but I am also human. That’s why my answer is yes and no. Yes, there are times when the wolf inside of me takes over and I become more wolf than human. However, most of the time, I’m just human...with some added abilities...” the prince explained.
