The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 123: Unusual Truth
Chapter 123: Unusual Truth
I have to prove him wrong?
“Think it over, Mila. There is nothing that you can achieve without commitment and determination. Set your mind up right and you can complete any task,” she said sternly.
“Yes, Madame...” I replied.
“I will have someone take you to your room. Get dressed and return here at once. Your lesson will start immediately...” she said with a firm nod of her head.
“Yes, Madame...” I replied once again.
...
My new room at in the Sacred Chamber turned out to be a set of rooms. It was so large that it felt sinful for me to be living there all alone. The rooms could have made up a small house had it been a standalone building. There was a large living room with a set of sofas and a dining area. Two bathrooms. A large bedroom with a king-sized bed, a large closet that lined the walls, a very large mirror, and a vanity table set. Then there were a few smaller rooms that were not furnished. A mini kitchen that didn’t seem like it was intended for any advance cooking. The feature that I liked the most about my new place was the very large and long balcony that overlooked the gardens. My room was on the sixth floor of the building.
“Please pick your outfit and get dressed. After that, please hurry back to Madame Sand’s office. Do you remember the way?” the maid asked me politely.
“Yes...thank you...” I replied stiffly.
“There is a button over there. Please press on it if you need any assistance. There are maids in the central service team that are available to serve you 24 hours every day of the year,” the maid told me factually.
“Right...I see...” I murmured.
When the maid left, I let out a long and loud sigh that I had been suppressing. I was beginning to understand the reason behind Prince Leonard’s apology. So many things were changing for me, and I had a huge trouble wrapping my head around everything and adjusting. No matter how much I hated it, it didn’t seem like I could run away from my sudden change in situation. I was now in a new place and without any friends.
Get a grip, Mila!
I yelled loudly inside my head as I slapped my hands over my cheeks. Madame Sand was right. I had to get myself together and do my best to survive and thrive in this place. I didn’t have a lot of confidence that I could prove the prince wrong; however, I couldn’t let that stop me from trying my absolute best.
There were simply too many clothes in the closet. I bet I could open up a small boutique with this amount of clothes. After being told that my fashion sense was lacking, I could tell that this was my first challenge. To live and do well in this place, I had to at least get this right. I pulled out a few dressed and held them against my body before turning towards the mirror.
How am I supposed to choose? What do I choose based on?
...
“That took you a while...” Madame Sand said as her eyes traveled down my body.
After wrecking my brain, I couldn’t decide on an outfit for myself. After wrecking my brain for a moment longer, I came up with the idea to just randomly pick. So, with my eyes closed, I walked along the line of clothes and randomly fished one out.
I like to call this method something like ‘leaving it all to fate’.
On that particular occasion, fate decided to choose for me a short dress that exposed half of my thighs. The dress was gold and very shiny with many sequins sewn onto it along with gold tassels that moved along with the movement of my body when the dress was worn.
“I am sorry...” I apologized without an excuse for myself.
“Do you have plans to go out later tonight?” Madame Sand asked while arching a brow curiously at me.
“Umm...no...” I replied honestly.
“Hmm...I have to say that no one has ever arrived at my lesson dressed so...daringly like this...” she said before she scoffed at me.
I was at a loss for words as she marched right past me and out the door. After taking a few steps, she paused and turned around to face me.
“Follow me. What are you waiting for?” she asked sarcastically.
“Yes, Madame...” I replied obediently.
Apparently, my lessons were not going to be conducted in her small office. Instead, she led me to what was a very proper classroom. Despite the large lecture hall that she took me to, I soon found out that I was her only student for that day. My initial disaster as picking out a dress suitable for my lesson left me without any confidence at all. I only believed that one disaster would lead me to the next.
“Sit down. You won’t be doing anything but listening today,” she instructed as she pointed an index finger at one of the seats in the middle of the front row.
I nodded and sat down as instructed. The madame cleared her throat as she stood behind a podium like an honorable lecturer before she turned on the projector and the large screen came to life.
“This is going to be a little...unusual. Please pay close attention to what I am about to tell you,” she said before taking in a big breath.
I could feel that she was about to tell me something extremely important; however, I didn’t quite understand what she meant by it being ‘unusual’.
“The king and the three princes are not normal humans. They are wolves...” she stated as her gaze seemed to pierce my face.
They are...wolves?
“Huh...?” I murmured cluelessly.
It wasn’t like I haven’t seen them. My fingertips could still remember the softness of those furry ears that I caressed on the top of Prince Leonard’s head. I could still recall the moment his clear blue eyes transformed into those of a beast. I still remembered the fear I felt when I found a large black wolf staring up at me from the rose garden beneath the balcony of my old room at the maids’ quarters.
