The Alpha Prince's Purchased Maid -
Chapter 116: Special to Him
Chapter 116: Special to Him
“Prince Leonard...” I called his name softly to get his attention.
“What is it?” he asked.
Now that I had his undivided attention, I was at a loss for words. I didn’t know how to ask him this without it sounding strange. He must think that I’ve lost my mind for sure...
“That evening when you came to find me at the bathhouse...” I began saying before I hesitated.
“What about it?” he asked with his eyes glued to my face.
“I was wondering...how you knew where I was...” I asked before biting on the inside of my lower lip anxiously.
“Do you have any guesses?” he asked before he smiled warmly at me.
I wished that he would just give me a straightforward answer, but I guess not everything in life was simple and easy.
“You’ll probably think that I’m crazy but...I think I heard a voice...” I confessed shyly.
“A voice?” he asked as his blue eyes widened at me curiously.
Ok, he must think that I’ve gone nuts and maybe I really have. I’ve just told him that I’ve been hearing voices inside of my head.
“Yes. Suddenly, I had an intense headache and when Prince Florian saw that I wasn’t feeling well, he tried to help me. He wanted to take me to see the doctor, but I couldn’t really move by myself anymore. My head hurt too much...” I told him honestly.
“Then? What happened after that?” the prince quickly urged for me to go with my story.
“Well, I think...I heard a voice inside my head...” I confessed before biting down hard on my lower lip.
The prince didn’t seem shocked at all at my confession. Instead, he seemed extremely interested in what I had just told him.
“What did you hear? What did the voice inside your head say to you?” he asked as his face came even closer to mine.
“It asked me where I was...” I told him as I recalled the voice that I heard.
“And what did you do after that?” he asked as his blue eyes searched mine.
“I...I replied. I didn’t say it out loud but, inside my head, I replied and told the voice where I was...” I said as confusion started taking over me again.
Suddenly, everything felt so spooky and mysterious. It was like I was dealing with some paranormal phenomenon, and I wasn’t a fan of such things. Of course, I also never thought that something like that would happen to me. I did consider that I may simply be mentally ill.
“I see...” the prince murmured before he smiled at me.
“Umm...do you think, I’m...ill?” I asked hesitantly.
I didn’t want to use the word ‘crazy’, but it was surely what I was thinking.
Suddenly, I felt a slight weight on the top of my head and realized that the prince had placed his large hand on my head and then his laughter echoed all around us in the bedroom. Prince Leonard laughed so hard that he had tears in his eyes while I simply watched him. His large hand moved to stroke my hair comfortingly until he stopped laughing.
“You’re not crazy. You’re just special...” he told me after his laughter had died down.
“Isn’t that just another way of saying that I’m...not normal?” I asked.
“Hmm...you’re not normal for sure and you’re extremely special for sure too. There’s nothing wrong with your brain and you’re not crazy,” he said with certainty.
“How do you...know that?” I asked while feeling even more confused than before.
“It’s simple, really. Before you felt your headache, do you remember what you did?” the prince asked.
What I did?
I was in the bath with Prince Florian and then he started touching me and saying strange things that scared me and then...
“You called for help, didn’t you? In your mind, you called my name and asked me to save you, didn’t you?” Prince Leonard asked knowingly.
I called for Prince Leonard to help me?
Now that I think about it, something like that must have happened. I thought of him and wished that he would come to save me. However, I never called out to him out loud and even if I did, I was sure that he couldn’t hear me because he was nowhere in sight. So, how did he know where I was?
“I...wished for you to come and save me...” I replied as my brows drew together in a frown.
“That’s right. You were lucky that I just got back from my official duties and heard your call,” he replied before he smiled at me again.
“You heard me?” I asked in pure disbelief.
How can he possibly hear me when I didn’t call out to him?
“Loud and clear. I heard you, in here...” the prince said before he tapped his index finger softly against his temple.
“That’s not possible...” I muttered in shock as my hands and feet suddenly felt extremely cold.
“You’re right. It’s not usually possible. That’s why I believe that you are special. At least, to me, you’re probably someone special...” he said like he didn’t want to admit or believe it himself.
I’m ‘probably’ someone special to him?
“I’m sorry but I don’t understand...” I said as I shook my head from side-to-side.
“I don’t really understand it either but I’m sure enough now that somehow our minds can communicate with each other,” Prince Leonard said before he chuckled.
I could tell that he didn’t want to believe that something like this was possible either. It clearly wasn’t normal, and I still wasn’t convinced that it was really possible.
“I don’t think that it’s possible. It might have been a coincidence...” I mumbled.
“There’s a way to find out for sure, if I’m not wrong,” the prince said as if deep in thought.
“How?” I asked and I had to say that he had perked my curiosity.
“Let’s experiment to see if we can communicate with our minds right now...” he suggested.
Even if he said that, I had no idea how to do it.
“What do we have to do...exactly?” I asked intriguingly.
