Regina’s body froze in shock as I continued to unbutton the small buttons lining the front of her shirt. She gasped when I parted her shirt to reveal her bare shoulders and her chest. Her skin was flushed a beautiful pink color. Regina had a beautiful body and face. She definitely met the requirements of a fine honorable maiden without a doubt.

“That’s about as slow as I can take it. I’m running out of time so let’s rush things a little, shall we?” I suggested.

Before she could react, I yanked her shirt and almost ripped it off her arms before throwing it down on the floor next to the bed. She screamed in shock as her face contorted into an unpleasant expression. Her hands immediately flew to cover her breasts although she still had her bra on.

“Do you really want to do this?” I asked.

“Yes...” she replied defiantly.

Her actions did not match her words at all, and I wondered if she even realized that.

“Even when you know that I will never love you?” I challenged her as I stared deeply into her eyes.

It looked like she was on the verge of tears, and I hated seeing her that way.

“Leo...” she whispered my name.

“I don’t mind mating with you, but I don’t want to fool you in the process. If you’re fine that I don’t have any feelings for you beyond seeing you as one of my childhood friends, that I won’t be responsible for you even if you happen to become pregnant, and if you don’t mind becoming a plaything like one of those Satisfiers that we label as honorable maidens, then...” I explained passionlessly.

A loud sound rang out and then there was a sharp pain on the side of my face. I wondered what I did to ever deserve being slapped on the face like this. Women and how they like to put us men in situations that we don’t want to be in. They make it necessary for us to say things that they don’t want to hear and then we get hit for it.

“I guess that’s your answer. Stop forcing yourself, Gina...” I warned her sternly.

“I’m not forcing myself...” she quickly denied.

“Then what are you doing? Why are you covering yourself up like that?” I asked disapprovingly.

Her body trembled as she began to sob.

I made her cry...or more like, she made me make her cry.

I sighed at the expected outcome as I bent down to pick up her shirt before tossing it gently over to her. Regina continued to sob as I looked on with nothing but pity in my heart.

“I don’t know what you thought you could achieve but this seriously isn’t how you seduce a man. Please don’t ever degrade or disgrace yourself like this again...” I reprimanded her seriously.

“Leo...” she whimpered my name as tears poured down her face.

“You have a special place in my heart, so I truly don’t understand why you’re trying to lower yourself down to the level of the Satisfiers. That’s what we call them off the records. To us, all honorable maidens are nothing more than tools to satisfy our lust. Your father also knows this and yet he decided to throw you into the lump,” I said before I heaved another sigh.

I leaned down and adjusted her shirt for her so that it would help cover up her nakedness while Regina continued to sob. If nothing else at all, I wished that she had learned to value herself a little more.

“Mila...” I said as it suddenly occurred to me that this was a good opportunity to bring up one of the issues that had been on my mind.

“...What?” Regina whispered through her tears.

“Mila, the maid that you sent into the forest and the one whom you sent to the bathhouse, was originally bought by me. If you don’t mind, I’d like for you to return her to me,” I stated my request clearly.

“Return her to you?” Regina asked as if in complete disbelief.

“That’s right. I want her as my maid,” I replied without any hesitation.

It had been my intention all along to find time to talk to Regina about Mila’s redeployment. After the two incidents that had occurred, I could no longer ignore Regina’s actions against Mila. These two needed to be separated and Mila needed to be kept safe and the safest place that I could think of for her was for her to be by my side.

Regina had a very conflicted look on her face but before she could reply to me there was a loud ruckus at the door that drew both of our attention.

“No! You cannot go in there. I told you; Lady Regina isn’t feeling well, and Prince Leonard is taking care of her!”

I heard the sound of a woman screaming quite loudly. The chaos outside was loud enough to wake up anyone who might have been sleeping. Clearly the maids in this palace needed to be disciplined better.

“Come in!” I called out loudly.

The door opened and there stood a very unexpected figure along with the woman who I often see serving Regina.

“I apologize for the sudden intrusion,” Callum said as he bowed apologetically to me.

“That’s not a problem. Regina is feeling much better already,” I replied smoothly.

Regina turned her face away to conveniently hide her tears away from Callum and her maid. It was regretful but it seemed like my conversation with Regina needed to wait for another time.
