Chapter 27: 027

Tristan woke up with a yawn, he stretched and felt his body was extremely light and better than the previous day. He had no idea when slept off but he was happy to have done so.

He was laying on a small bed in a room that looked like something out of an ancient play.

He was still looking around in curiosity when the door opened and his maid walked inside with a tray of freshly made meals and the aroma made his stomach grumble.

"Good morning" she greeted with a smile, causing him to smile back.

"Eat your food and we will take a walk with Agatha before we return home. Since the mating ceremony that’s supposed to happen last night did not we need to return fast before the Alpha gets too worried" She informed him as she remembered what the Alpha went through when Adriana forced him to leave.

"Do you think he would be searching for me?

I bet he is relieved". Tristan trailed off in a sober voice.

"I’m sure he is!.

A few hours is enough to rob the Alpha of his sanity. He is crazy about you but doesn’t even know it yet" She replied firmly ending his doubt.

Tristan looked away in embarrassment, and felt giddy all over to hear her say that. Although he wasn’t sure she was correct and can’t really trust her words, they made him happy.

"The Alpha is crazy about me" he murmured delightfully.

They all left the cabin after he ate and cleaned up. Their walk was towards the forest surrounding the cabin. No other people seemed to be around and Tristan was glad for the absence of prying eyes.

He immediately fell in love with the different kinds of plants and flowers he encountered as they passed by.

"Can I live here with you?" He turned to ask Agatha with a dandelion held between his finger tips.

"You can but that is if your Alpha doesn’t break the force protecting this place to pull you out" she said laughing softly and that made Tristan’s smile disappear.

He had been trying to take the Alpha off his mind, he was very certain that the Alpha would be extremely pissed at him when he eventually returned.

He missed the Alpha too and wished to see him but he doesn’t want to stay around him for long.

And he still doesn’t know what the Alpha thinks of him which makes it hard to decide on what to do.

But he doesn’t particularly have a choice, since they are married anyways.

"You wanted to tell me a story last night. Can you tell me now?" Tristan asked Agatha with an eager expression while pushing his worries to the back of his mind.

"Yes, I might do that or when we meet again".

"Will we meet again?

That would be nice" he replied and hurried towards a bed of white roses.

Agatha walked slower than the Omega and his maid. He was carefree and ran around happily without any worry and that made her happy too. He was like a child in a playground. But knowing what he would go through in future made her worry.

She wished she could keep him for longer even if she had agreed to keep him with her for days but she could tell he missed his Alpha even though he didn’t show it.

"Did the beta contact you?" She asked her partner as they walked slowly behind the Omega.

"Yes he did".

"Why didn’t you tell me?!" She asked in shock.

"I’m sorry, but he asked that we return the Omega after a night and I told him you would only work according to plan".

"No need for that, we will send him back soon.

"Wait" Agatha called suddenly and Tristan paused to look back at her and he noticed her outstretched hand.

"Let’s go," she said, waiting for him to come to her.

"It’s time to go back, your Alpha is very worried" She said with a smile and that made Tristan hurried to her side.

"How do you know?".

"It’s a secret" She whispered and smiled as his smaller hand touched hers. The door they had walked through appeared in front of them and Tristan turned to hug her before walking through the door.

She was caught by surprise but gently patted him on the back.

Her smile disappeared when the door closed and they left.

"You can’t keep a fated pair apart for too long. The Alpha would go feral if he doesn’t return soon" Agatha informed her partner as he frowned at her after the Omega left.

"A fated pair?

Does that still exist?"

"Yes but extremely rare, just like me. But they are one. And that makes their bond very strong. With time they would grow closer and impossible to separate.

I hope to see him again one day" She said and turned around to walk into the cabin she had always lived in for centuries.

Tristan and his maid stood at the other end of the door with confused looks on their faces.

Everything that happened while they were with Agatha had been wiped off their memories. That was the price for crossing back to their world.

"Are we not supposed to be going out to the mating ceremony?

Why are we here?!" His maid snapped back to reality and turned to him with wide eyes.

Tristan frowned and looked around as he realised they were alone but he could remember they were together with Gale and two other people.

"Let’s hurry" His maid said and pulled him along.

They had only walked a short distance towards inside the pack house when they were stopped by a guard carrying a gun.

"What are you doing?!" His maid’s shriek as the guard pointed the gun at them.

The guard was surprised to see them coming from that part of the house when he hadn’t seen anyone go there since the beginning of his shift.

"Who are you two?" The guard asked, cocking the gun.

"If you shoot, you are as good as dead" A voice warned from behind and he turned around to see the beta approaching them.

He bowed and stepped aside.

Gale sighed in relief as he saw the Omega’s face for the first time in three weeks.

He hadn’t known the extent the Alpha could go but the last few weeks had been a lesson for him.

He had thought the Alpha was better off without the Omega but his assumptions were wrong and others paid for that price with their lives.

Because the Alpha had killed more men in under three weeks than he had in the last three years.

He made bad decisions and the Alpha went feral, even if he had kept the news under control the consequences were dire. Even the pack elders could only sit and cower in fear.
