Chapter 23: 023

In less than an hour the whole pack house territory was combed in search of the Alpha’s Omega.

Due to the levity of the situation and Alpha’s anger, everyone present was involved in the search.

Alpha Mitch was a step away from losing his sanity.

He stood amidst the commotion and ran a hand through his hair as his wolf became more agitated with every passing second.

This was the second time this was happening and he was starting to get scared that the Omega ran away again.

"If that’s the case doesn’t that mean he hates me?"

Alpha Mitch thought as he was lost on what to do.

His shirt was coated with sweat and he was out of breath from running around looking for him.

The pack elders had left to have a meeting among themselves.

He doesn’t even care about them anymore, he only needs one thing right now. And that’s the Omega.

"Mitch" A voice called softly and he turned around to see Mariah emerging from the pack house.

Her eyes were red and puffy as if she had just cried.

Alpha Mitch’s brows furrowed. "What happened?"

"I think I caused it" She said slowly with a sob.

Alpha Mitch frowned and looked at her with confusion.

"What do you mean?"

He asked as his heart raced wildly.

"Remember I asked earlier if you were thinking about running away, what if that had scared him and he decided to leave?" She asked and burst into tears.

Alpha Mitch sighed softly as he watched her cry, if the situation was different he would have laughed at the absurdity of her words but he has too much on his mind to take her seriously.

"Let’s not assume anything. We need to find him first.

Okay?"

"Alright" Mariah nodded and wiped her face and turned around back into the pack house.

The search continued till into midnight Gale had to announce the cancellation of the mating ceremony as ordered by the Alpha and the pack elders.

He saw some of the guests off and was overseeing the wellness of the pack and keeping things under control since the Alpha also seemed to have vanished in the last few hours. And the pack elders had been requesting to see him after the decision to cancel the mating ceremony was met but he could not provide an answer as to the Alpha’s whereabouts.

"Where is the Alpha?" One of them asked as they sat in the Alpha’s office.

Gale looked at the five of them with contempt, they were the reason for all these.

If they hadn’t forced him to get mated, he wouldn’t have chosen an Omega that caused the Alpha nothing but trouble.

"I also do not know. If you ask me, who the hell am I to ask?!" Gale snapped, they exchanged a look of surprise before one of them spoke up again.

"Was the Alpha tricking us?

He never picked a mate right?

This ruse is just to get us frustrated and distract us. Do you know how much danger the pack is in?

We need to think of a solution together or the pack members would get scared and think the Alpha is not trustworthy!".

"I really wish that is what he had done!

He picked a mate and you are still not satisfied!

And now you are saying he is not trustworthy!" He yelled back and they all went quiet.

Neither party said another word and they walked out of the office one after the other.

Gale’s hand trembled as he watched them leave. He had taken matters into his own hands and that’s enough for the Alpha to kill him if he finds out.

Bolting the door’s lock, he brought out his phone to make a call.

{FEW HOURS EARLIER}

After Alpha Mitch left his room, Tristan covered his face with both hands in embarrassment as his thoughts ran wild because of what the Alpha did.

The door opened suddenly startling him, his maid walked inside with a knowing look on her face.

"The ceremony is about to start, are you ready?" She asked and Tristan nodded but bit his lower lip as his nerves were beginning to get overworked.

He wasn’t sure how the ceremony would go and how things would be afterwards but more than that he was terrified of appearing in front of the pack members.

A knock sounded on the door and his maid answered but she turned to him with an excited look.

"It’s time". She said after speaking with the person by the door.

"Okay" Tristan replied and joined her by the door.

He stopped beside her with a frown, there was Gale standing with another man and a woman he had never seen before.

"You will go with her and she will explain some things to you," Gale said, gesturing towards the woman.

"Follow her? To where?"

His maid asked with a frown.

"You can accompany him, it won’t take long" Gale replied and a look of relief crossed over their faces.

The Alpha had ordered her never to leave him alone, or with other people since they arrived.

And she would obey that order even if it takes her life, she was still feeling guilty about what happened with Adrianna.

The man and woman led them towards a secret door, it was one of the doors constructed to help people escape if there was war or other commotion.

Tristan moved closer to the maid as a bad feeling crawled up his mind.

"Come child", The woman said with a smile and gestured at him while she stood outside the door.

Tristan looked at her opened hand warily but stilled his wavering heart before he walked outside to her with the maid closely behind.

But when they got outside, it was a different world entirely.

Tristan looked around in shock as they were suddenly standing in front of an old cabin. He looked back to see the door and the pack house gone.

Without another thought, he hid behind his maid and began to tremble as a shiver ran down his spine.

But she was also shaking as she stood with her feet rooted to the same spot.

"You don’t have to worry at all, I only want to tell you some stories over a cup of tea.

And by the way, I am called Agatha". The woman said with a wide smile and the man beside her nodded.
