The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 894: THE RULE HE CREATED

Chapter 894: THE RULE HE CREATED

It happened so fast, none of them saw this coming, especially when Rei’s movement was hard to catch with your eyes.

There was a moment of silent because they were not sure whether it really happened when Cedric fell to the ground and gagged in his own blood that oozed out of his opened throat.

Blood painted the floor of the tent and the smell of it permeated in this small room, it was very nauseating and Cedric fell to the floor, unable to comprehend what happened to him. His eyes opened wide, as if he couldn’t grasp the situation he was in right now.

The heavy breathing sound that echoed in this tent was very sickening, it reminded you of an animal that was being slaughtered.

"Arrghhh!!!" Abby screamed on the top of her lungs, she trembled to see this horrifying sight, but she was unable to take her eyes off the scene before her.

Thankfully, Liam reacted very fast and hugged her, pressed her face against his chest to prevent Abby witnessing the mortifying death of their beloved friend.

Meanwhile, Rei watched Cedric gagged and trembled before his body stayed still and the noisy sound that came from his mouth faded. The room finally engulfed in eerie silence.

The only sound that you could hear was the noise from outside, where the knights talked with each other, some wondered why the Serafim was screaming, but obviously none of them dared to check, since this tent belonged to Rei. They respected him more than the elders, there was something about him that made people very reluctant to get on his bad side.

"This is the punishment for breaking the rule," Rei said without feeling. He was the one, who created the rule. How could he stay still when someone trampled on it right under his nose? "What a pity. He was a good knight."

Rei then shifted his attention toward Abby. His eyes were still very cold and intimidating, while Liam tried his best to shield her from this man. By standing like that alone, Rei’s presence screamed danger.

"How far long you are?" Rei asked, his eyes glanced at Abby’s stomach and instinctively, she hugged her belly.

"She is almost three months." It was Liam, who answered that for her, since she couldn’t utter a single word due to shock.

"Three months..." Rei lamented. "Come here." He beckoned Abby with his finger to come closer to him.

Cedric’s dead body was behind Abby, because Liam positioned her this way, so she didn’t need to see the gruesome sight of him. Liam gritted his teeth, as he watched Cedric was still bleeding profusely. His blood pooled on the floor.

"Abby, I will not say this for the third time. Come here."

Trembling, Abby let go of Liam, but he held her hand, was not sure of what to do, but she shook her head. Liam couldn’t go against Rei or else he would end up like Cedric and Abby couldn’t take more agony than this.

Once Abby was in front of Rei, he placed his hand over her belly and closed his eyes, before he opened them again a few minutes later and murmured.

"A girl." Rei looked at Abby straight in her eyes. "You know the rule."

It was very clear. The unspoken rule was to give the baby to Rei for a year if she gave birth to a daughter.

Abby wanted to scream and refuse that, but all she could muster was silence, while Liam clenched his hands into fists, trying his absolute best not to rush over and beg Rei not to do that.

"Take his body away and you will come with me to discuss our next move," Rei said, he beckoned Abby to follow him out of the tent, while Liam cleaned up his ’mess’.

Abby bit her lip, so hard she could taste her own blood and started picking on her fingers again, as she followed him, leaving Liam alone to take care of Cedric’s dead body.

You wouldn’t be able to describe it with word for what Liam was feeling right now, but one feeling that was more prominent than the other was guilt. It supposed to be him, who died because the baby was his and Cedric simply didn’t explain himself when he was being accused of that to save him.

Liam grabbed a blanket and covered Cedric’s body with it before he carried out of the tent and buried him in the nicest place he could find.

Later that night when everyone started to move to Winter Moon pack and establish their base there, Iris was shocked to see something unusual.

"No way... how could he?" Iris furrowed her brows when she saw him stood beside the carriage.

"Luna?" Aliana looked around, poke her head out of the window, but she couldn’t find anything out of ordinary. "Who are you talking about?"

Iris scrunched her brows and this made Aliana worried. They were on their way to Winter Moon pack, the alpha and the luna’s bedroom was ready, thus they didn’t need to stay in the tent again.

"Stop the carriage, I need to go."

"Where are you going?" Aliana was surprised with her sudden strange behavior. The alpha was not here, as he was with Jace, having yet another conversation with the elders and Rei.

Iris asked the carriage to stop and once it stopped, she jumped out, startled the five warriors that gathered around the carriage in their beast form. Ever since Rei arrived they had been in their beast form, ready to jump into an action if something came up.

But, it was Lou, who actually stopped her. "Where are you going?" He grabbed Iris’s arm right in time and Aliana sighed in relief because the merchant stopped the luna.

"I need to go."

"No, you can’t go. Your mate said that you need to be inside Winter Moon pack right away."

Iris stared at Lou for a while, as if considering her option. "You can come with me too."

"Okay, where do you want to go?" Lou changed his attitude in a blink of an eye, left Aliana speechless.

"You shouldn’t be so capricious!" Aliana protested, but Lou actually escorted Iris to ride on Lil Thing’s back.

"Well, you can stay here if you wanted," Lou replied to the frustrated Aliana, as he rode his horse to follow Iris, so did her five warriors.

"Damn it!" Aliana cursed under her breath and shifted into her beast to follow them too, but there was this smaller beast that tailed behind them as well.

They were not sure what Iris was going to do here, but she stopped Lil Thing under a big tree and asked the five warriors to dig the ground.

"Back off everyone!" Lou said energetically. He folded his sleeves and stepped forward, smug smile on his lips. "I can do it faster than all of you."

"Did he try to flex?" Eron whispered to Dyne.

"Yeah, it’s more like him to flex."

What Lou said was right, by using magic, he could do it faster, but what they found underneath was something that shook all of them, except Iris.
