Chapter 860: COMMOTION AT NIGHT

Iris was sleeping peacefully with Cane beside her when suddenly she was woken up with an intense feeling, which made her heart accelerated rapidly. She was shaking because of how strong the feeling was and she didn’t have any idea what was that.

However, a second later, she heard a muffle commotion from afar, the warriors in front of the door shuffled and it seemed there was something going on, which made them restless.

Because the noise was not too loud, Cane didn’t wake up. Probably because his condition was still not stable, that’s why he was still sleeping, putting down all of his defense.

Slowly, Iris got off the bed, she took her cloak to cover her sleeping dress and went to open the door to find Otis and Dean were standing there. The two of them greeted her politely.

But not too far she saw Zale curled himself on the floor, but he immediately woke up when he noticed Iris came out of the room. The young boy refused to leave and would spend most of his time lingered around the luna.

"What happened?" Iris asked. She tightened the cloak around her neck because the wind was rather cold for her, even though it was almost summer.

"You must be woken up because of the noise, luna." Otis looked apologetic. But, Iris was not woken up because of the noise, instead it was this intense feeling that she still felt that disturb her sleep. Needless to say, she wouldn’t mention anything about it. "Eron has gone to check on it, it seems the noise came from the Holy Kingdom people’s quarter."

The east of this pack house was occupied by the Serafim and the elders. People from the Holy Kingdom usually hang around that area.

"I will go, stay here." Iris felt something had gone wrong and she wanted to check it herself.

"I will go with you, luna," Otis said hastily, but Iris rejected him. "I can’t let you go alone, luna. Even though it is still inside the pack house, but it’s still not safe for you."

"Zale, come with me," Iris said. Since they said she couldn’t go alone, she would take this young boy with her, because she needed them to look after Cane.

Otis and Dean were speechless and Iris cut their protest off by saying this was a direct order from her and they couldn’t refute it, which silenced them efficiently.

Meanwhile, Zale was basked by excitement because the luna chose to take him instead of the two warriors, which made him feel smug. He literally bounced when he followed his luna.

Once Iris arrived in the east part of the pack house, Eron immediately approached, he was surprised, but Iris didn’t have the patient to listen to his protest for her being there.

"What happened here?" Iris asked before Eron could say something unnecessary.

"The Serafim... the Serafim is fighting Elder Rose!" Eron concluded what happened briefly, since he didn’t know the detail of it too.

"What?" Iris hastened her step to follow the source of the commotion, which led her to the main garden in the east side, where she could see Abby and Elder Rose were trying to destroy one another, while the other two elders were standing at the sideline, watching everything unfolded.

How they could be very careless and looked like they didn’t care a bit about what was going on here when the Serafim and Elder Rose were fighting? If anything, their expressions looked very tense, as if they were holding themselves back.

"What’s going on here?!" Iris roared at Abby and Elder Rose for them to stop. "Are you going to destroy the pack?!" They just managed to clean up the mess after the latest battle, but right now these two women wanted to make all of their efforts this past three weeks down the drain! The audacity of them! "Stop it now!"

However, neither Abby nor Elder Rose was willing to back down. The member of Diandem pack had moved away, afraid they would get hurt in this unexpected battle and a tent had been flown because of these two Serafims.

Right now, Elder Rose even used the salamander to attack Abby, which made Iris enraged. That creature belonged to her, but why they used it as they pleased?!

"ENOUGH!" Iris roared, which startled all of them. The harsh wind between the two Serafims stopped and the Salamander immediately went to Iris, hiding behind her cloak. This poor thing was annoyed because it was being toyed between Abby and Elder Rose. "What do you think you are doing?!"

"Stay away from this!" Elder Rose was surprised that Iris could suppress her and Abby’s power, even the salamander chose to go to her, but she masked her shock perfectly and didn’t let anyone to see it. "This is not your problem!"

"This will be my problem if you tried to ruin the pack and threaten the pack member! If you want to have a fight, get out from this pack and have your way out there!" Iris walked closer toward them and every step that she took, she looked very intimidating, despite the fact her figure was nothing, but delicate. "Most of the houses have been built by the warriors and the pack member of this pack, if you have any plan to ruin it again, I will not be quiet and watch from the sideline!"

Zale’s eyes lit up to see how angry the luna was and he felt like he wanted to clap his hand, but thankfully Eron was there to stop him before he actually did it. The other warriors, who had gathered there also smirked smugly because their luna scolded them bravely, while the knights looked at the whole situation bitterly.

And more people came to see this commotion.

Iris’s last word was directed toward the two elders, who didn’t do anything and watch everything unfolded, as if this was an entertainment for them.

Of course, Elder Xarex and Elder Dandolf could hear the hidden meaning behind Iris’s word and they were not happy with the way Iris painted them.

"This is the problem within the Holy Kingdom, stay away from this, luna Iris!" Elder Rose looked like she wanted to attack Iris out of frustration with her.

"Your problem has caused trouble for this pack and this pack under the protection of alpha Cane! If you want to stir trouble and cause more damage to this pack, get out from here!" Iris was way more not happy with this situation.

Now, Iris could understand how frustrated Cane must have felt when all of his effort went to the drain. After all, she was the one, who tirelessly tried to fix the situation and do damage control, but they wanted to ruin it again?

"Luna Iris!" Elder Rose was so mad, her face turned red, but it was Elder Xarex, who stepped forward and deescalated the situation.

"We will take care of our dispute quietly." Elder Xarex then shifted his attention toward Abby and Elder Rose. "Let’s go back inside and discuss this matter."

Iris didn’t want to know about their problem and it would be enough if they were willing to discuss this among themselves. She was ready to leave when Abby actually went to her side and defy the elders.

"I am not going with you," Abby said sternly.

This time, not only the elders, who were surprised, but Iris too. The luna frowned, staring at Abby with questioning look.

"I am not going with you. I will stay with the luna. You can discuss this matter all you want." Abby glared at the elders, but Iris could see her hands were shaking, this must be hard for her to defy the order from the elders when she had spent her whole life trying to impress them and follow them obediently.

"Don’t get me involved in your problem, I already have enough," Iris said in low voice, but Abby replied to her without even seeing her.

"You already involved yourself in this problem, there is no way out now." Abby didn’t even bat her eyes when she said that.

Iris frowned. She wondered since when she was willing to get involved with them?

"Cedric, Liam, come with me!" Abby said loudly. She still had her eyes on the elders. With this so many people, they wouldn’t dare to breath a word about her pregnancy, or else they would humiliate themselves.

Of course, if the words got out, it would tarnish Abby’s name too, but she was willing to bring the elders down with her if they tried to harm Cedric and Liam.

Abby was fighting back when Elder Rose forced her to drink the potion, which drew attention from the other elders, that was when Elder Xarex and Elder Dandolf learned about her pregnancy.

They didn’t agree for her to abort the child, like what Abby expected, but the thought the baby was born out of wedlock and the father was the protectors didn’t sit well with them.

That was why, when Abby fought Elder Rose, they didn’t do anything, since they had not yet decided where they stood in this matter.

"I don’t ask you to come with me, you can stay and serve the elders from now on!" Abby glowered at Ian when he and the other two Holy Knights were about to follow her.

"You will leave Cedric behind," Elder Rose growled. They were still under the impression that the father of the baby was Cedric.

"No." Abby balled her fists. It took everything in her to stand her ground.
