The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 858: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Chapter 858: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
When the night came, Iris was still inside the room with Arella and the three little girls, she didn’t come out, aside from asking for meals for the girls and herself.
And just like what the luna had asked, Dean and Dyne brought alpha Derick and Cezi inside to meet with Iris.
"You can leave," Iris said. She waved her hands at the two of them, but they were hesitated.
"But, luna... it will be dangerous for her to be left alone with them." Dean tried to persuade Iris to let them stayed, even though they had given alpha Derick, Cezi and the rest of the prisoner Rottingbane, which prevented them from shifting into their beast, but he and Dyne didn’t feel right to leave their luna alone.
"I will kill them if they tried to harm me. You can leave." This was not only Iris replying to the warriors’ worries, but also served as a warning for alpha Derick and Cezi not to mess with her, or even had a funny thought about it.
In an instant, Dean and Dyne was reminded of the event when their luna dealt with thousand of the enemy’s warriors and ended the battle without even breaking a sweat.
Immediately they apologized and left the room. Their luna was more than capable to take care of these two.
"Luna Iris," Alpha Derick greeted Iris solemnly. "First, I want to thank you for this meeting."
Cezi nodded politely at Iris. "This is my first time meeting you and I want to thank you for saving my life." Cezi had not yet had a chance to say his gratitude.
However, Iris didn’t seem to hear them, she approached them and took out a dagger from her waist. This was a white dagger that always with her, the same dagger that Cane gifted to her.
Alpha Derick and Cezi widened their eyes when the luna went behind their back, thinking she was about to stab them, but then they could feel the rope around their body that bind their arms behind their back loosened. Iris cut the ropes.
"It will not comfortable for you to have a discussion with your hands were tied." Iris sheathed her dagger again.
This surprised the father and son pair, as they didn’t expect this from her. The luna had every right to end their lives, especially after what they had done. They sided with prince Kellan and attacked them, even though she and Cane were nothing, but helpful. The two of them literally saved Cezi’s life.
Facing with this kindness, they were very shameful of themselves and this was the feeling Iris wanted them to feel. Cane would play them like this if he was awake. Thankfully, the alpha had told his luna what he was going to do with alpha Derick and Cezi, thus Iris knew what to do now even when he was not around.
"You don’t need to be polite with us, we are your war prisoner." Cezi lowered his head, but he took a second glance at this auburn woman. Her height only reached his chest, but the way she carried herself would make you paid close attention to her.
"My mate thought of you as people that close to him." Iris stood in front of them, she looked serene, there was no trace of anger, neither resentment in her beautiful blue eyes. "And I know Kellan has tricked you into submission."
Alpha Derick and Cezi didn’t say anything. It was still hard for them to accept the prince was not the person they thought he was, especially for alpha Derick. It broke his heart to think how he had wasted his people’s and a lot more to support the prince. Denial was the first thing that came to his mind.
However, the truth was right before his eyes and he couldn’t find excuse to justify what Kellan had done.
Cezi said that as much, asking for Iris to understand that it was very difficult for them to accept the reality. He said that on behalf of his father. His investigation alone only began when they were captured and he couldn’t continue with the three little girls.
Hearing this, alpha Derick didn’t have a word to say. He was still trying to put all the information he had in place.
"Do you mean them?" Iris pointed the three girls on the bed, sleeping peacefully.
Cezi and alpha Derick didn’t realize the three girls on the bed when they entered the room because their main focus was on Iris.
"Is that all you wanted to tell me? About why you chose to side with Kellan even after what Cane and I had done to save you?" Iris looked at alpha Derick and Cezi closely and this made them lowered their heads. They felt very ashamed to even lift their head and met her eyes.
"When you believed on something for so many years, you tended to not believe anything else." Cezi tried to speak, but the more he did the more he felt he only fooled himself. "It’s hard to undo what you believe, but still, this is not an excuse to side with wrong people."
Iris said nothing, which made the room fell into silence. And neither of the father and son pair dared to break it.
"Fine." Iris finally nodded. "Maybe you can’t trust me, but I hope you can trust her." Iris then went to open the curtain and revealed Arella, who was sitting on the chair. She looked pale, but she moved. She lifted her head with tears streamed down her cheeks. "I healed some of the poison, but she still needs more treatment, she can move, but she still can’t speak yet. I am working on that."
Arella listened everything that her father and brother told Iris about prince Kellan and how wrong they were about this prince.
It was Iris’s idea to let her listened to what alpha Derick and Cezi were thinking before she let her met with them, so Arella would know what to do to convince her father and brother.
"My daughter!"
"Arella!"
Alpha Derick and Cezi immediately approached Arella and hugged her tightly, while the young girl was crying without any sound, only her tears that showed how much pain that she had gone through.
Seeing this, Iris left them alone. She walked out of the room, giving the time they needed to have their little family’s reunion.
Iris’s intention for this meeting was not to punish them. After all, half of the war prisoners were the warriors from the Celestial Moon pack and with more battle in the future, they needed all the help they could get.
If they could get alpha Derick on their side willingly, they would get half of the prisoner warriors, the warriors from Celestial Moon pack too, while they would think about how to get the rest.
There was no need to assert effort to torture alpha Derick and Cezi to pledge their loyalty, Arella and the three little girls would do the job.
"Is this how Cane played his game?" Iris murmured to herself when she walked out of the room and received another news from Aliana.
"Elder Rose has learned about the Serafim’s pregnancy," Aliana said. She had utilized the people in this pack house to have their eyes on the people from the Holy Kingdom and they were eager to help when she said it helped the luna.
Iris had made her own name in this pack.
"What are you going to do now, luna?" Aliana asked with curiosity. Would she help? Got involved in their matter? How she would do it?
However, instead of getting involved, Iris dismissed her. "That’s her problem. Unless, Abby asked for help herself. We don’t have anything to do with their internal problem."
Without getting involved in the Holy Kingdom’s problem, they already had a handful of trouble and things they had to think of. They didn’t need more headache to solve.
Aliana grinned. "You look more and more like the alpha," she said with a chuckle. "The alpha will say exactly that." She then mimicked the way Cane would respond to that.
"Well, you can say I learned from the best for being aloof." Iris smiled at her too. "More so, Cane will not reply to you. He would have ignored you without even saying anything."
Aliana thought about that and then laughed. "You are right, luna!" The alpha didn’t even want to waste his breath to give any respond. "You know him better now! I think you know him better than the rest of us!"
Iris smiled bitterly. Yes, she knew him. Maybe in this world, only the two of them, who knew each other better.
"Just like how he knows me."
Iris entered the bedroom and wanted to clean herself before she sought comfort from Cane. The only thing that she liked to do nowadays was to lay next to him, hugging him. She wanted to do that all day and night if she could.
However, to her surprised when she went to bed, she couldn’t find Cane. Cane was missing!
Iris froze in her place. There was no way he was missing! The warriors were stationed right out of the door and a few warriors patrolled around the area! How he could go missing?!
Iris was about to turn around and shout in panic that Cane was not here when someone caught her hand and hugged her from behind.
Cane whispered softly against her neck and tightened his arms around her body. "Where have you been?"
