The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 848: I CAN HANDLE THIS
Chapter 848: I CAN HANDLE THIS
Alan had spent his time in this wretched place so long, until he didn’t even realize that his mother had long gone. No one cared to tell him, no one felt the need to say anything to him. He was alive because he was too afraid to die and because Decratic needed him.
Only Corry, his previous advisor, who still saw him with pity and gave him a good food if he could, but he was rarely to be seen in this place. Decratic seeming sent him somewhere for different task.
Alan curled his body even more against the hard rock of the cave wall when he saw Zeke entered the cave with another monster for this little horrendous creature to eat.
His grandfather didn’t even spare him a glance and then walked away after the little boy devoured the monsters.
Decratic was so weak right now, but he started to replenish his power, while Dexter and Zeke were having a hard time to heal the dragon.
But, this was not the end. They still had their follower to come. They would arrive within a few days after some trouble in the Karam continent.
"This was not over yet, my lord..." Zeke looked over his shoulder to the little boy, whose munching on the Deadeye’s stomach.
The little boy grinned when he felt this turmoil in the air. That woman was agitated, there was something that bothered her greatly. Decratic didn’t need to guess, since he knew, who had caused that.
That man came to handy...
Being close to him would disturb her peace.
It was not easy after their first encounter, but it was not impossible too to drag her back to the darkness. It was like a tug of war game...
He only needed to be more patient and let his pawn to fulfill their purposes.
Decratic was right about it, because right now, Iris was going through her own struggle. She didn’t want to be close to the battlefield, but her heart was torn because she wanted to know what happened with Cane.
She would be doom if something bad happened to him. This world would be doom, if she went through the same thing again.
When Iris was trying to figure out what she needed to do, she heard Abby screamed and a loud explosion, which the shockwave shook the carriage. Aliana immediately took Iris’s hand and got them out of the carriage, before it was thrown away against the tree and shattered into pieces.
Thankfully, Aliana was quick to take action, or else Iris would be in a great trouble.
"Are you okay, luna? Are you hurt somewhere?" Aliana asked hastily, while Eron and Dyne immediately approached them, Zale and Lil Thing followed behind them.
"I am fine," Iris said, she fell on top of Aliana’s body, which gave her a soft landing. "Are you, okay?" Iris felt bad.
"I am fine, don’t worry." Aliana didn’t really hurt, only a few scratches that had started to heal by now.
"Luna, are you, okay?" Zale dismounted Lil Thing and then approached Iris.
"I am fine," Iris reassured her and when she lifted her head, she could see the scale of the war before her eyes. Fire everywhere. Curses were thrown in the air and dark magic users fought against magic users from the Holy Kingdom.
Not too far from the battlefield, Abby had summoned the Sylph to back their magic users, but she was overwhelmed, the dark magic users were so strong and she herself was not able to purify their magic.
And so much more. More deaths, carcasses and blood.
It snapped Iris back, as she pushed herself from the ground and immediately approached Lil Thing and climbed on its back. This was not the first time for her to ride Lil Thing, after all, she had been on the lycan and Cane’s beast a few times.
"Let’s go!" Iris said, prodded Lil Thing to move toward the battlefield.
Seeing this, the four of them were mortified and immediately shifted into their beasts to follow their luna, who intended to join the fray!
Her fear of something bad happened to Cane and the thought of losing people that she dear overcame the trauma that Kellan engraved in her mind for more than fifteen years.
Riding the white bear, Iris summoned back the Sylph because Abby was too worn out to gather her power to sustain the air spirit.
This time, the Sylph that Iris summoned looked way bigger and stronger, the spirit engulfed the magic users, protected the shifters and the warriors alike, as they fought against their enemies and dark magic users.
Abby was stunned, this was not the first time she saw the Sylph in full power, but still, she couldn’t get used to it, maybe she wouldn’t.
This was not the time to feel jealous, but the feeling crept in. She felt so weak and small with the presence of Iris. She could feel their awe toward this luna, even the people from the Holy Kingdom, the knights and magic users, who just joined the fight with them, who witnessed this for the first time.
"Let’s go," Cedric said, he knew what Abby felt right now, but they were in the middle of a fierce battle, she couldn’t afford to be distracted.
Abby gritted her teeth, she pushed herself up from the ground, feeling this discomfort on her lower belly, but she bit her lip and moved along the other knights.
"Stay with them, I will be back!" Cedric then mounted a horse and left Abby with the other three knights, as he went to talk to Iris. This was important to remind her about it, since they already learned how things worked between Iris and Decratic.
"Luna Iris!" Cedric galloped beside Lil Thing. This lazy bear was actually very fast! It could easily outrun the horse. "Prevent yourself from killing anyone! Don’t kill anyone!"
A Serafim should be pure, had a heart of gold and compassion, thus killing a living being did not integrate with that.
Killing their enemy would taint Iris’s heart again, which would feed Decratic negative power from her. That was how thing worked between them. How their existence correlated with one another.
Being reminded of that, Iris frowned. She didn’t like it. She could feel their enemies’ wolf spirit and squeezed them all. She could kill them all as she walked, but she couldn’t do that?!
Iris was not happy.
"Luna Iris, don’t! don’t give it to your impulsive thought!" Cedric was panic to see Iris obviously disagreed with him. He could feel her intention to wipe them all.
It was a great move, only if she did that, she would make Decratic strong again.
Iris huffed, she was annoyed and Lil Thing moved faster, leaving Cedric behind to eat dust, as if the creature could sense Iris’s bad mood, while talking to Cedric.
The knight tried to catch up to her, but the bear was too fast.
Now he could only pray the luna wouldn’t do anything reckless.
Well, Iris almost forgot that she couldn’t do that, but it didn’t mean she couldn’t do anything about it. There was always a way if you knew how.
There was three lines of the battle, the frontline was the warriors, they took the brunt from the battle, since their strength and speed matched with their enemies, because they came from the same kind, while the middle line was the knights, they acted as the back up for the warriors, killing the enemies that managed to move passed the frontline.
And the rear was the magic users. Because their enemies had their own magic users and used dark magic, their task was to dispel all the curses, this could be done from afar, since the magic users didn’t need to be extremely close with their target.
Meanwhile, Abby provided the back up for the magic users by summoning the Sylph. The air spirit could provide power for the magic user, boosted their magic, even without magic stone.
But, with Abby’s current condition, she couldn’t sustain the spirit for long.
However, Iris came right in time to summon the Sylph again before the dark magic could do damage on their people.
And right now, the luna was standing behind the magic user’s line and Lou saw her first. He immediately approached her with a surprise expression.
"What are you doing here?! Go back!" Lou was scared something might happen to her. He then looked at Lil Thing. "Bring her back!" he said sternly, yet Lil Thing acted like it didn’t hear him and started to lick its paw, while standing next to Iris, which made the merchant frustrated.
"It’s okay. I can handle this," Iris said. She breathed deeply. The only thing that prevented her from coming in the first place was because the thought of meeting with Kellan. She didn’t even want to see his shadow. It dreaded her for no reason.
After all, that was how trauma worked for some people...
But now, when Iris thought about it again, why would she be scared of him when she was way more powerful than the current Serafim? She could kill these beasts in a whim if she wanted to, a Kellan wouldn’t stand a chance to fight her, he wouldn’t be able to hurt her anymore.
That fact and coupled with the thought she wanted to see Cane and made sure he was fine, resulted this.
"I am fine, Lou. I can handle this." Iris walked forward, but when Lou wanted to stop her again, she put protection around her and Lil Thing.
