Chapter 750: LEGIONS OF WARRIOR
As a magic user, your power bounded to magic stone, where you couldn’t do anything without it, but as a Serafim, it was different story entirely. Your divine power allowed you to have limitless power, you didn’t need such a thing like magic stone to support your power and the Sylph was a natural protector mythical creature.
They only had around ten magic users that came from the Holy Kingdom after the last attack of the monster and Nefilim in the Golden Light pack, more so with everything that had been going on, the supply of magic stone dwindled drastically. It was hard to find those stones nowadays, since there were attack after attack and power struggles.
Magic stone was scarce, even more when they learned the Red Claw pack had fallen into the enemy’s hand.
"Lou!" Iris called for the merchant, as Abby summoned the Sylph and it worked like magic when all the magic users absorbed the divine power that was catered by the Sylph, so did Lou.
Ther merchant and the remaining magic users created a transparent dome that managed to ward off the crows, which allowed them to breath.
Even so, the crows still tried to break the shield by doing the same thing that they had done when they tried to break through the pack house.
Lou felt this strange sensation again when he absorbed the divine power, he didn’t notice this feeling before when he did it the first time, but now it became apparent for him.
Meanwhile, Cane shifted back into his human form, as he stared at the dome that protected them and the Sylph. Everyone cheered because the Serafim saved them, but he knew better that it was Iris.
Cane stared at his mate from the distance, his expression was impassive, as he was deep in thought and right at the same time, feeling his intense gaze, Iris found Cane was staring at her and without a second thought, she rushed toward him and hugged him.
Iris was worried because she couldn’t find Cane among the people and the feeling of relief washed over her when she finally found him.
"Cane..." Iris breathed deeply when she hugged her mate and closed her eyes, relishing a sense of comfort that she could only get from him.
"You have done a great job, Iris." Cane hugged her and kissed her neck. He squeezed her body gently. "I am so proud of you."
That was right, Cane was very proud of his mate, to be the person she was right now. She didn’t really need his protection anymore and could shoulder this hard journey with him, side by side.
Iris became someone that he could rely on and it felt less desolate when you were not alone facing the adversity.
Cane kissed her head, while only a handful people in this main hall, who knew it was actually Iris that could make this happened and protected them, unfortunately, the rest of them thought it was actually the Serafim’s power that played the role and she was protecting them right now.
Therefore, what Cane’s said was very heartwarming and precious. It was very important to be acknowledged for your effort.
Iris couldn’t blame Abby to desire this feeling, because she too, wanted it so badly. She wanted to be acknowledged and accepted. The way Iris grew up had messed up her mind and self respect and confidence.
"Tell me, do you have any plan in mind about how to deal with this?" Cane whispered asking to her ear, his voice was soft and teasing.
Even in dire situation like this, Cane could find joy in his mate, which made Iris less anxious about what she was going to do, because she knew, she had her mate and whatever might happen, they had each other and of course... their little one.
"Excuse me, but I am the one, who created the shield," Lou said, as he stood behind Iris. His expression was ashen to watch the two of them were hugging each other, displaying their affection in front of so many people.
Meanwhile, Grace and Ardand started to help healing some people, who had been injured because of the crows. The protection around them looked strong enough, they could see those crows were still trying to break it, but it was sturdy enough under the assault.
Hearing that, Iris immediately released herself from Cane, there was a tinge of red on her cheeks, as she glared at Lou.
"What? At least, you can say; thank you my dear Lou... like that." Lou blinked his eyes innocently upon receiving Iris’s fierce gaze.
However, instead of saying that, Iris closed her eyes and there were little lights, like small fireflies, or shimmering dust that floated in the air, in which those lights went to the people, who had been injured and helped them recovered quickly.
Some of the people, who had never seen this, thought it was the Serafim again, who had helped them and healed them, but the children from the Black Market had seen this before, they knew who had created this.
"Lou, come with me," Iris said, but she took Cane’s hand to go out of the main hall, while waving her hand, indicating Lou to follow them.
"Why should I go with you too?" Lou protested, but he followed them eventually. "Just promised me not to start making out!"
Cane turned deaf ears upon hearing Lou’s protest, he stared at his mate, who took the lead, as she explained what was in her mind and he and Lou listened to her solemnly.
"I need to get the lizard in the Serafim’s room and we can burn the whole crows." Iris was running next to Cane, while Lou was on her other side. The two men looked like they were having a walk, while she was trying her hard to move faster. Her short legs should be blamed for that.
Cane and Lou formed two pillars by her side, it made Iris looked so tiny between the two men.
"Great! Then we don’t need to worry about that creature again, right? Those people can go out of the pack house and return to their respective house!" Lou felt suffocating when he had to be among the crowded people. He wanted to kick them all out of here, but of course, he could only entertain the thought.
"No, there is more will come," Iris said, frowning at Lou.
"Then you can burn them all too!" Lou complained.
"It’s not crow..."
"What now? Is it mermaid now?" Lou was not happy at all.
Iris ignored his remark and talked to Cane instead. "It feels like... legions of warriors came to our way. They carried traces of dark magic," Iris said. That was what bothered her. These warriors had been affected by dark magic. "You need to prepare the warriors."
"I will," Cane replied, he then shifted into his black beast and lowered his body. He could see Iris started panting and it would take longer time for them to reach the Serafim’s room if they went with her pace.
The black beast lowered its body, making it was easier for Iris to climb on top of it. This was not the first time for Iris to do this and she did it very smoothly, it almost felt so natural for her to climb on top of the black beast.
And once Iris had settled in, the beast dashed toward the third floor.
"Hey! Can’t you take one more person?!" Lou shouted behind them. "I need a ride too!"
Sky would collapse if Cane let him do that. In the end, the poor merchant had to climb stairs after stairs to get to the third floor, which was not fun at all! Grumbling all the way there.
However, Lou could feel the strong power of the Sylph. It almost felt like he had thousand of magic stones, it really increased his power, which allowed him to move around, while sustaining the protection, which now had expanded to the whole pack house.
"This is incredible..." Lou muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, inside the main hall, injured people had been healed and the children were still crying because of how shock they were, but Tatiana and Amara, also a few more people did good job to comfort them.
At this point, the children took almost thirty five percent of the whole pack member, there were a lot of children and you could say the same in the Riverside pack, where the number of the children there doubled the number of the pack member.
People thanked Abby for her protection and her healing power, but all she could do was trying to smile throughout the whole thing. She didn’t feel good at all, knowing she had deceived them.
Yet, Iris kept her promise, she let her claimed everything and now she had disappeared.
Inside the small room, Della was breastfeeding baby Rora, while Hanna held her baby, Adelle. They heard about what happened out there from Amee and was relief that everything had been taken care of.
But when the two of them were talking, someone entered the room. They thought it was Amee, who joined them after comforting the orphan children, but as it turned out, it was Lando.
"Can I come?" Lando asked, the ten years old boy stared at Rora and Adelle, looked curious.
"Sure, come here," Hanna said, she had paid close attention to him and in her opinion, Lando was a quiet boy and actually very nice, probably because there was no evil bone in him yet.
