The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 747: THE LOCKDOWN (3)

Chapter 747: THE LOCKDOWN (3)

Kaz and Maria were thrill to see the baby actually had golden eyes, the only fact that could assure them that the alpha was not being fooled anymore and the baby was actually his!

"She has golden eyes!" Maria exclaimed happily, while Kaz was trying to calm the baby, but a big smile plastered on his lips. He was very excited to learn about this too.

"Yes, yes! She has golden eyes! She is the alpha daughter!" Kaz and Maria were in their own world, as they were mesmerized by the baby.

The only thing that bothered them was the fact the baby was a girl and she looked so weak. It seemed they had noticed, the baby took after in this matter, but they hoped the baby was easily sick because she was born ahead of time and when she grew up, she would be a healthy and strong baby.

Only a handful of people, who knew the baby was not a shifter and if Maria and Kaz learned about that, it would add to their disappointment...

"What are you doing?!" Hanna snapped at Kaz, she heard the baby was crying and when she looked around, the sound came from the baby in Kaz’s arms and she recognized Rora’s swaddle. Her missy loved white color, so most of Rora’s clothes and swaddle was in white color, more so the fabric was different. In one look, you could see it was very soft and was very expensive, since the alpha only wanted the best for his daughter.

Hanna marched toward Kaz and Maria angrily, she didn’t know how Rora could end up in their arms, but she wouldn’t let them to touch the baby! She was still upset with the way they treated her missy and how dense they were for their wrongdoings, thinking they were in the right and everything was only misunderstanding.

However, before Hanna could reach Kaz and Maria to get baby Rora, someone had walked past her. It was a flash of black cloak, but in the next second, a shrill scream added to the baby’s cries and the commotion in the main hall.

Everything happened too fast, people didn’t have time to react to that when they learned what actually was going on.

It was the alpha!

Cane snatched his baby from Kaz’s arms and at the same time dislocated his shoulder, so bad Kaz’s bone jutted out from his shoulder and now the old man was wailing on the floor because of the agony, the pain was too much for an old man like him to bear.

And yet the alpha only stared at him coldly before he shifted his attention at his crying daughter. Tears streamed down from Rora’s eyes, as her small face turned very red.

He checked on his baby, whether she was injured or something happened to her, but thankfully, she was fine, aside from a tiny cut on her eyelid. Kaz must have hurt her accidentally when he tried to open Rora’s eyes to see whether or not she had the golden eyes.

And Cane knew immediately what the cause of his baby to cry like this. He fought the urge to kill Kaz for what he had done, but then he decided to move away to calm down his daughter. He would dirty his hand if he had to kill Kaz right now and he didn’t want to hold his baby with hands that smeared with blood.

He forced himself to walk away. These people only upset him and Rora could sense it.

The alpha cradled his baby protectively, his expression was as cold as the frozen lake, even Hanna stopped in her track and didn’t dare to offer her help to calm Rora. She lowered her head fearfully when the alpha walked past her and silent stretched inside the room.

People were confused of what actually was going on, but they didn’t dare to make a peep.

Grace, who just returned from taking the medicine was stunned to see the alpha and baby Rora in his arms, especially when she could sense something was going wrong.

"Al- alpha..." Grace stuttered, she stared at the floor, didn’t dare to lift her head and look at the alpha, while the warrior, who came with her was trembling in fear too when the alpha’s sharp gaze fell on him.

"I told you to stay with my daughter." His voice was icy and this sent shiver down their spines.

"A- apologize, alpha... I need to get the medicine for Rora..." Grace explained herself, she glanced at Kaz and Maria and shocked to discover Kaz’s shoulder was dislocated and a warrior was helping him to correct his bone. The pain must be very unbearable. Did the alpha do that?

Right at the same time, Iris came with her warriors and Ethan. Cane sent the gamma instead to check on Iris, since his mate was well protected with her warriors and he himself personally checked on their baby only to find this.

"What happened? Why she cries like that?!" Iris asked, panic in her voice when she approached Cane to check on Rora. "Why she is crying, Cane?"

The cut was very small and now the baby’s face had turned very red, so Iris couldn’t see it.

"Go inside, there is small room in the main hall." Cane handed baby Rora to Iris and his mate didn’t pursue the matter, thinking her baby was only hungry.

Iris then went inside the room with Grace, who finally could breathe again after the alpha was out of their sight. Hanna followed them into the room, as Aliana took care of something else after they made sure there was no child was left behind.

Tatiana and Amara were in charge for the orphan children. The two of them didn’t have malicious intention, they were only caught up in the middle of this messed up situation and actually were really good with children, as they took care of their little brother too. Or so they thought...

The warriors moved their food supply into the pack house too and the whole process took less than two hours, thanked to their good coordination and now, they had locked themselves inside the pack house and watched the crows came their way.

The flock of crows covered the sky, it felt like their dark days when they couldn’t see the sunlight had returned, but this time, it was way more eerie, as the crows let out frightening sound.

All of the warriors and knights stared from behind the glass when one of the crows tried to break by hitting itself against the glass, leaving trail of blood on the surface.

"What do you think will happen?" Aliana asked, as she stared at the second crow that tried to suicide in the same way too.

Ethan was standing next to her, he stared at the same thing. "I don’t know." He stretched out his hand and held her hand, this time, Aliana didn’t avoid him and intertwined their fingers together.

Carla just finished with her task and was about to look for the gamma, but she immediately backed away when she saw this sight. She bit her lip and entered the main hall again, busied herself. At the very least, she knew Ethan was already inside the pack house and was fine, since she was worried about him.

Miles away from the Howling Wolf pack, there was someone, who was worried about her man too, but unfortunately for her, she didn’t know whether he was fine or not, or what actually happened to him.

Sofia held her baby. Rye was sleeping quietly in her arms, while the other baby was laying on her laps. She was sitting inside a house in the Riverside pack, at the deep corner, while Trion was staring at the crows out there through the gap of the window.

Sofia couldn’t go to Howling Wolf pack when the rest of them returned to the pack, because the pack member would stone her for lying about her baby. Therefore, she stayed in the Riverside pack and had Trion to look after her.

"How... is it?" Sofia asked, she was scared, at time like this she wanted Redmond to be here. That man would start talking nonsense and curse, but actually that sound was better than how Trion was being very quiet and this got on her nerves.

"I hope we will have enough food until we got further instruction," Trion said grimly, he watched how the crows attacked a woman, who unfortunately couldn’t reach her house in time. The crows poked her head with their beak until she died. It happened very fast and that woman was not the only victim.

Right now, there were so many people died on the street, women, men, children and some of them tried to shift into their beast, but to no avail to fight these countless crows. The snow died red.

"What is going on here?" Sofia sobbed silently, as she hugged her baby, while staring at the other baby on her lap.

The same question plagued a lot of people in the southern area, they were hiding inside their house and was dreaded by the horror these crows brought.

Meanwhile, Abby finally made up her mind, she came to a small room inside the main hall, where she knew, she could find Iris.

"The luna is trying to comfort her baby, you can come again later," Hanna said when she opened the door and found the Serafim.

However, from inside, Iris had heard that. "It’s okay, let her in, Hanna."
