The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 741: PROVOCATION

Chapter 741: PROVOCATION

"You are going to kill us if you threw us out of the pack!" Abby snapped when she realized what Iris meant with that, she glared at her.

However, Iris looked at Abby calmly, she was unfazed under the pressure that the Serafim emanated. The intimidation from her was nothing compared to Cane or from the people that she had met and hurt her.

More so, Jace and Ethan’s presence were very comforting. She knew the two of them would never let anything happened to her.

Not to mention the other five warriors out there.

"The same thing goes with our circumstance, since we shelter you, the Decratic will put their aim on us. I can ask the same question to you." Iris stood up too. She was half head shorter than the Serafim, but there was something inside her that demanded respect from her opponent, especially the aloof air that surrounded her. "Are you going to kill us?"

Abby was taken aback when the question was thrown at her, because she couldn’t find a way to retort it.

"Luna Iris. Does it not bother your conscience when you know that your harsh decision will cause the death of thousand of our knights?" Liam finally opened his mouth to speak after he saw how flustered Abby was.

Liam knew how the people in the Holy Kingdom treated Abby, thus she was not really good with provocation. She used to agree and lower her head to them.

"We have fought alongside each other and lost so many people during the battle. We have helped during your time of need, but you will throw us aside."

Iris shook her head. "I think there is misunderstanding here." Iris shifted her attention toward Liam. "It is ’us’ who have been helping your people, not the other way around."

Ethan was flabbergasted to see how well Iris countered what Liam accused them of, so did the beta, Jace stared at the luna beside him and didn’t know what to say. He felt like he just saw Iris for the first time. The calm air that she carried was hard to ignore.

She was the perfect luna. She carried herself really well during this argument.

Yes, the idea was coming from Cane about how to deal with this matter and put the pressure on the Serafim. It was a bluff, because they knew it was Iris that Decratic wanted, but of course, since the Serafim and her people was giving them a hard time and was reluctant to cooperate with them, there was no way they would give them an easy way.

"Luna Iris..." Cedric was about to speak when suddenly someone opened the door and the red robe fluttered in the air.

Lou entered the room with a grin on his lips, his limpid eyes fell on Iris and turned very gentle. "I am sorry for being late." It was clear to see that he was only feeling sorry for Iris. "Where are we now?" Lou pushed Ethan aside and pulled a chair to sit next to Iris.

The gamma was about to protest, but Iris had given Lou a brief explanation about what they had discussed.

"I agreed with you!" Lou declared happily, very excited to see Cane was not there. He was at the point, he would agree with anything Iris said no matter what was that. "Why would we need to support them when they don’t want to cooperate? We are not going to lose our people anymore!"

Lou was supporting his head, while staring at Iris openly.

"You look so pale, are you sleeping well?" Lou asked, this question was not appropriate and out of the content of their discussion.

However, Lou’s happiness didn’t last long, when he thought Cane wouldn’t come and he could spend the entire meeting by teaming up with Iris and supported her idea, the big bad alpha entered the room. Lou’s happiness was quickly shattered, he pursed his lips like a sullen child.

"What is he doing here?" Lou grumbled.

Cane sat next to Iris, while Jace gave up his seat for him.

"Where are we?" Cane asked, he stretched out his hand and caressed Iris’s face. "I am sorry for being late."

Just like Lou, Cane only apologized toward Iris, he treated the Serafim and the other knights like air.

Iris then proceeded to tell him more detail of what happened and that the Serafim still refused to share the information with them.

Cane nodded, listening to her carefully. The result was within his expectation and after that, he took over the discussion.

"I think my mate has concluded everything. Now, the decision is in your hand." Cane shifted his body to face the Serafim and the knights. They were still standing and looked displeased with the whole thing.

"Is that a threat?" Liam asked, he narrowed his eyes.

"That’s our decision, as the alpha and the luna of the pack. Our main priority is to protect our pack member. We have nothing to do with the battle between you and Decratic," Cane spoke solemnly. "We can’t put such threat within our wall. You are free to discuss this with your elders, I will give you time until tomorrow to exchange letter with them."

Cedric glanced at Abby, she seemed having a hard time to make a decision. "Let me know why you can control the black wisp. What was that?"

Cane held Iris’s hand under the table and relaxed, while Lou scoffed at the sight and crossed his arms. He looked unhappy when he spoke.

"That’s me." Lou hated it when he had to talk about his other identity, as the sorcerer. "I was the one, who controlled the black wisp. As you already knew that I am a sorcerer."

This was obviously a bullshit, Lou and Cane knew how unbelievable this claim was, but their aim was to agitate them.

"There is no way it’s you, that’s not the power that a magic user could summon," Abby stated.
