The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 735: UNTIL THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN

Chapter 735: UNTIL THE DAY WE MEET AGAIN

"Don’t!" Aliana said that word more stern and firm than before, she glared at Maria, who was trying to approach the bedroom and see Iris for herself.

Seeing the look on Aliana’s face, Maria startled, she recoiled and lowered her head. All of the pack member were close with one another, like family, there was this special bond between them, they were bonding over their trauma.

However, things started to be different, not everything would stay the same understanding their current situation and now the relationship between Aliana and Maria, which used to be close, started to drift away.

"Aliana, you shouldn’t treat her like that!" Kaz reprimanded Aliana. "If the luna is crying because she lost her baby, Maria can help her!"

"How she can help her?" Aliana narrowed her eyes and stared at Kaz coldly. The two of them had been desperate to be on the alpha’s good grace because their last assignment had been completed and they shouldn’t be in this pack house anymore, but Cane had been very busy and he didn’t have time to pay close attention to the two of them, while the other servants and warriors felt reluctant to be strict with them, because they saw Kaz and Maria as their elders.

"Aliana, have you forgotten? It was Maria, who stayed by you when you lost your baby, she made you feel better. She had experienced with grieving mothers, who lost their babies, of course, she can help the luna!" Kaz argued with Aliana.

However, his argument didn’t make Aliana felt good at all. What he said only angered her.

"This is different case, Kaz." Aliana gritted her teeth, but her murderous eyes rested on the old man now, which made him took a step back. It startled him to see the hostility in Aliana’s eyes. "If I were the luna, I don’t want people, who hurt me to be by my side when I was down."

"We are here to apologize and move on from our old grudge, we can start new Chapter." Kaz was still adamant with the ideal ending for this dispute.

"That’s not up to you to decide." Aliana stared down at Kaz, who was being very stubborn now. "You can’t force someone to accept your apology, just because you apologized to them."

"The luna is not like her father, right? She will not hold grudge against us if we had a talk with her and made her understood..." Kaz grew frustrated because Aliana couldn’t see things from his point of view.

Aliana cut his words when Kaz started to downplay the situation and use the same statement over and over again. "Yes, the luna is not like her father, but I think after so many years of slavery, it’s you who had turned like her father instead."

"Aliana! How rude is that?!" Maria exclaimed, to be compared with that devil was a great humiliation.

"How can I be rude?" Aliana threw a dagger look at Maria and swatted away her hand in her grip. "You treated her badly even after you knew she had helped us during the slavery and now you demanded her to forgive and forget? The luna is too nice, if I were her, I would have thrown you out of the pack house long time ago."

"How can you say something like that to us?" Kaz was shocked to hear this words came from Aliana’s mouth.

"Because you never understand, even now, you don’t feel you are in the wrong. You want to apologize because the alpha finally punished you and you wanted to treat the luna well because she gave birth to the future alpha!"

"She gave birth to a baby girl! The baby is not strong enough! Grace has been keeping an eye on her! How she can be the future alpha?!" Kaz was furious, when he learned it was twin girls, he was very disappointed, but then he chucked it out because no matter what the baby was still the alpha’s flesh and blood.

However, what Aliana did next, left them stunned speechless.

A slap landed on Kaz’s face, which startled the five warriors behind Aliana, who watched from the distance.

Aliana actually slapped him so hard the old man took two steps back.

"How dare you talk like that Kaz!" Aliana growled and Zephyr needed to intervene because she looked like she was going to lose it.

"Al- Aliana..." Maria stuttered.

"Kian, escort the two of them out of the pack house, the alpha had ordered to not let them stepped in the pack house once the preparation for the funeral is done," Zephyr ordered one of the warriors, while he held Aliana back.

Kian immediately escorted Kaz and Maria away from the pack house. Kaz was too stunned to speak after the slap and Maria was crying her heart out, asking to meet with the luna and to see the baby.

"Are you okay?" Zephyr asked Aliana.

For a moment, Aliana only stared at Kaz and Maria, who had been ushered away from her sight, her eyes were cold, she hated it when they brought up about her dead baby and used that reason for comparison. Everyone grieved differently and Aliana didn’t think she was done mourning the lost of her baby.

More so, how dense what Kaz said about Iris and Cane’s baby. Kaz was being insensitive and unnecessary cruel.

Aliana took a deep breath and forced a smile. "I am fine." She turned around and stared at the closed door. "Don’t let anyone came into the room. I will be back with hot meal."

Zephyr only nodded and let her left, while they were listening to their Luna’s heartfelt cries for another hours. It was indeed very cruel of Kaz to talk about the baby like that.

Zale and Ezra came over to see Iris, but Zephyr told them not to bother the luna for a while. After that, Joyce, Celia and Leena came over too, but they were told to go back later. Joel also came, but he didn’t ask to meet with the luna, he only asked about her condition right now, after that he left, dragging Zale and Ezra with him because they refused to budge from there.

The two young boys complained because they wanted to stand guard with the other warriors in front of their luna’s bedroom, but Joel was unfazed. He kept dragging them away, while the three girls followed from behind.

Later at evening, close to midnight, the funeral for the fallen warriors would be held after the family funeral, where Cane would walk with Crystal in his arms, he needed to carry the baby from the pack house to the family grave in the bottom of the Goffa mountain, where all of his family was buried.

Everyone was holding a candle or a luminous pearl to illuminate the way.

While Cane carried Crystal, Iris walked beside him. All of them were wearing black, it was the color of their pack.

After her outburst this afternoon with Hanna, she didn’t sleep and barely ate something, she looked haggard and as if the cold wind would be able to topple her.

Cane suggested for her to stay behind, but how could she miss this? Iris would come and finish the whole process even if she had to crawl... Cane knew that and he didn’t insist.

They walked side by side with their baby in Cane’s arms and Aliana followed behind with Rora in the healer’s arms.

Under the pale moonlight and the cold wind of winter, they walked step by step with all the member of the Howling Wolf pack walked with them too, illuminating the way with the candles and luminous pears in their hands.

Lou, the Serafim and people from the Holy Kingdoms were among them. They were wearing black too and this was the first time for the merchant to wear another color without complain.

Once they arrived at the cave, it was only Cane and Iris, who went inside, where they would put their baby to her last resting place, along with her other family member.

There was this small little casket where they would lay her down there.

Gently, Cane put Crystal down on the casket, where inside had been decorated like a little bed for her with flowers around.

"Cane, I can’t leave her alone here..." Iris stopped Cane when he was about to close the casket lid. "She will be alone here... I don’t want to leave her alone..."

Cane held Iris to support her body, because she was about to collapse.

"Don’t do this, Cane... please take her back, let’s go back... we can’t leave her alone here in this place. Let’s bring our daughter back, Cane..." Iris had been very calm on their way here, but suddenly she had this breakdown. "Cane, don’t leave her alone... let’s go back... let’s go back with her."

Iris wanted to pick her baby from her little casket, but Cane hugged her from behind to prevent her doing so.

"Cane, what are you doing? We can’t let her sleep there, this is cold, she must be feeling cold..."

"Iris, please..."

Iris kept begging Cane to take their baby and her voice echoed throughout the cave walls, while the alpha held her, hugged her, but all the luna wanted was her baby...

"Our baby will not be alone, love... she will not be alone," Cane whispered to her ear.

’Now we have to remember you for longer that we have known you and we are going to miss you until the day we meet again.’
