The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 617: WHY THE ALPHA SENT ME ALONE?!

Chapter 617: WHY THE ALPHA SENT ME ALONE?!

"What?!" Nala widened her eyes. There must be something broken inside this merchant’s head to even give her such suggestion.

It was well known that Aliana served Iris and how bad things between her and that luna, there was no way she could get close to Aliana.

"Are you crazy? There is no way I can get close to Aliana! You know very well, how much that luna hates me, do you really think her servant will like me?" Nala was annoyed beyond words.

"In that case, can you get close to Iris then?" Lou didn’t seem to think what he was saying, he simply blurted it out. "It will be even better."

Nala was exasperated to hear that. She wanted to punch this man on the face now. Of course, she had done it countless time in her mind.

"What do you want!?" Nala was upset. There must be the reason why he wanted her to be close with Aliana. "Do you want to know about that luna’s movement?" Even now, Nala was still reluctant to call Iris by her name and whenever she said ’that luna’, her tone would be filled with mockery and disdain.

Nala didn’t love her father and his death didn’t really affect her emotionally, but it gave a grief impact in her life because she didn’t have anyone to back her up and her plan to get into Cane’s side was ruined because of Iris.

If she died during the attack from the royal, it would be great!

Somehow, it was so easy to hate Iris and direct all her negative feelings toward her. Hating someone was way easier than accepting that you were in the wrong.

"Yes!" Lou nodded excitedly. "Being close to me makes you smarter!"

Nala hated it whenever Lou was being overly proud of himself, but she liked his caring side too, since no one had ever shown her such thing and paid close attention to what she liked and disliked. A small thing he did for her, sometimes, made her heart fluttered.

"There is no way I can get close to Aliana," Nala said in a matter of fact tone. "But, I think I can get close to one of her warriors... what information do you want?"

"Good girl!" Lou exclaimed, he leaned over and kissed her lips. "You know how to solve a problem now!"

As it turned out the injury that Ethan caused on Jax, the beta of the Winter Moon pack, was quite severed. He had clawed Jax’s left eyes too deep and now his left eye was blind.

Oh. Ethan regretted it... he should make him completely blind.

"An eye for an eye!" Jax roared, as he stood next to alpha Nolan. He glared at Ethan with his healthy eyes, which now seemingly suffused with venom and hatred. "I want his eyes too!"

"I am here to apologize," Ethan stated, he didn’t interest to hear Jax’s wailing for justice. This was funny to hear someone like them demanded justice. "If you want to punish me, you have to discuss this with my alpha," he said nonchalantly.

Currently, Ethan was inside the room that filled with people, who wanted to shred him to pieces, but the gamma didn’t show any hint of fear whatsoever.

"I have apologized and now I need to leave, there is a lot of things I need to take care of," Ethan excused himself, but four warriors stopped him in his track, as they stood in front of the door. "Do you want to keep me here?"

"Gamma Ethan. I don’t think you understand the situation well enough," alpha Nolan finally spoke, he leaned forward in his chair. He looked so old and calculative.

"I am sure, I understand it very well, alpha Nolan." Ethan kept his voice even. "Everything that happened is not entirely my fault. If you can discipline your beta better and he could keep his mouth shut, all of this will never happen and he will not suffer the consequences of his own action." He swiftly shifted the blame on Jax instead. Being so close with Cane all this time had shaped him to be cunning too.

When Ethan could control his anger and emotion, he knew when to play innocent and read the situation better.

"Are you trying to blame my beta for the reason why you attacked him?" Alpha Nolan narrowed his eyes.

"Yes!" Ethan replied shamelessly, which set Jax off, he really wanted to shift into his beast, but the healer told him not to shift, until his left eye healed. Currently, he had a bandage over his head to cover his blind eye.

"The audacity!"

"Gauge his eyes!"

"An eye for an eye!"

There was an uproar inside the room. There were around twelve people here and they were from Winter Moon pack.

"Did Cane want to kill me to send me alone here?" Ethan grumbled under his breathe, he was rather annoyed than afraid for people here to show their hostility toward him.

"Gamma Ethan." Alpha Nolan stood up from his chair and approached the gamma. "Cane is like his father. He upholds justice..."

"I think you are wrong in that sense, alpha Nolan," Ethan cut his words before he could spit another nonsense. Alpha Josh wouldn’t have killed prince Vemion and walked the path that Cane treaded now.

"I don’t think so." Alpha Nolan strode toward Ethan and the gamma didn’t even take a step back, as he held his eyes.

"Alpha Nolan, you will not do anything to me. You are not in the position to piss my alpha off." Ethan tilted his head. "Just to inform you that I am is my alpha’s favorite person. He will be pissed if something happened to me. You do realize, right? Alpha Cane is the sovereign in the southern kingdom and you are in his territory."

"How dare a gamma like you threaten the alpha!" Jax roared angrily, but it only caused his eyes hurt even more.

"Ck. I should have clawed your mouth instead," Ethan said not so quietly.

==============================

Iris was very sleepy when she taught Celia how to read and write, she yawned a few times and this made the little girl suggested for them to take a break and walk outside.

Meanwhile, Haco was sleeping, he slept more often now and started to forget about his surroundings. The lesson from him became non existence now. He didn’t even remember himself and spend his time to stare out of the window.

"Haco forgets about me," Celia said in sad voice when the two of them walked in the corridor, the six warriors were with them, following behind. "Sometimes, he will talk about a few places that he visited when he was young in the Andelus continent. I think he missed his home there."

It would be more than five decades now Haco was away from his homeland because of the lycan after he was being kicked out from the Holy Kingdom.

"Luna, is there no way for him to be cured? Grace said he only needs to rest because he is very old, but he has been resting all the time."

Iris caressed her cheeks, she didn’t know what to say. "Grace is right, Haco needs to rest. He has done a lot of things and went on a long journey, it’s time for him to rest."

Celia looked very sad. She stared at her feet.

Not so long, Zale approached them from the opposite direction, he was holding something in his hand. Now he was well fed and trained, he looked healthy and in good shape.

"Luna Iris, I heard you are here," Zale greeted her. "Do you like flower?" He had fresh red rose in his hand. "I found this on the way to the training ground and I thought it’s so beautiful and maybe you will like it."

Iris smiled and accepted the flower, she brought it to her nose and smell the refreshing scent, this made her happy. "Thank you, Zale. I like it."

"I thought you are allergic to flower."

Iris almost jumped out of surprised, while the six warriors growled at the sight of the merchant. He walked leisurely toward them with Nala followed behind him.

"I remember Cane said in the meanest tone that you are allergic to flower when I gave you one," Lou stood behind Zale and the young boy gave him a dirty look.

Zale didn’t know this man, or who he was, but he already disliked him. He looked very tacky with his red robes.

"Maybe it’s not the flower that luna is allergic to, but the person, who gave it," Eron muttered under his breath, but it was pretty loud enough for them to hear.

Hearing that, Lou narrowed his eyes at him, he was ready to give the warrior a snarky comment.

"I am allergic to a certain flower," Iris said to deescalate the situation.

"Are you allergic to this one, luna?" Zale asked worriedly.

"No, I am not, Zale. Thank you for the flower, it’s beautiful." Iris smiled at the young boy, who sighed in relief.

"Luna, I think this is the time for you to have your lunch," Kian said, he glanced at Nala briefly.

"Yes, you said you were hungry," Asher chimed in. They still remembered the alpha’s order not to let Lou around his mate.

"Great!" Lou clapped his hands excitedly. "I am hungry too, let’s eat together. I know a good restaurant around here! It has been a while, since I came here. I will give you a tour! Cane must have confined you here, right?"
