The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 599: THE BORN OF A NEW LIFE (2)

Chapter 599: THE BORN OF A NEW LIFE (2)

If the baby was the alpha, he should have the golden eyes for a few days until the color faded away and his natural eyes color appeared. That was why you couldn’t deceive the royal descendent.

However, this baby didn’t have the golden eyes! The newborn has dark brown eyes!

"There is no way... there must be a mistake here..." Maria was too shock to be coherent, as she stared at the baby with horror in her eyes.

However, how could there be any mistake when she was the one, who held the baby first once he came out from Sofia, still bleeding and crying. There was dozen pair of eyes that witnessed it, there was no way the baby could be swapped.

But, how? How the baby didn’t have golden eyes?!

"What do you mean Maria?!" Kaz barked, a few people tried to hear the conversation inside the bedroom, as they craned their neck to see what happened inside.

"The baby is not the alpha’s... no golden eyes..." Maria mumbled, as she kept shaking her head, as if by doing so, she could change the reality she was facing right now.

"What?! No way! You must be mistaken!" Kaz entered the bedroom and marched toward the healer, who was holding the baby. "Let me see!"

The healer showed the baby in her arms, that was still bleeding and crying. "The baby doesn’t have golden eyes, Kaz." The healer confirmed what Maria said.

However, the head of the steward didn’t believe it until he saw it with his own eyes. Upon closer look, you could see the baby indeed had different eyes color than they all expected.

"This... what is this...?" Kaz staggered back and fell to the ground, he opened his mouth, as if he was about to say something, but there was no word that came out. He was too shock to utter a single word, while his finger pointed at the newborn baby. "No. No. No... this is not happening..."

Meanwhile, Redmond had enough with their antics. He approached the healer and glanced at the baby, but he didn’t dare to carry this fragile, grumpy little thing.

"Are you not going to clean the baby?!" he growled at the healer, who was still flustered.

"Oh... yes, I- I will clean the baby..." The healer immediately went to clean the baby and swaddle him in a warm blanket.

"What about you!?" Redmond roared at the Ardand and the other healer. "Are you not going to help and stand there like a fool, while watching her bleeding to death?!"

Ardand and the other healer were still in shock to learn the baby was not the alpha’s, they couldn’t think straight at this point and only followed the motion, as they helped with Sofia and tried to stop her bleeding in order to save her life.

Outside of the room, the joyful cheer and pray had died down, everything was so quiet, it was so eerie, as they blinked their eyes in confusion.

So, the baby was not the alpha? The baby was really not the alpha’s firstborn? Shouldn’t she give birth to the heir for the pack? That was what they believed all this time. That was why they accepted her with opened arms and readily welcomed her as part of the pack. What was happening here?

The healer moved quickly to change Sofia’s dress and cleaned her up, as Ardand channeled his healing power to keep her alive after such gruesome experience and hours of agony, it left Sofia powerless. She was extremely exhausted, but her eyes looked around, trying to see her baby.

"My... my baby... where is my baby..." Sofia asked weakly. After such commotion and how Maria and Kaz reacted, she knew, there was no way the baby was alpha Cane’s. She was not pregnant with his baby and the man that night was not him, it was Redmond...

She thought, she would be so sad and depressed, but after life and death experience she just endured, she couldn’t care less about the father. She only wanted to see her baby. This little thing had put her through hell, but she didn’t think she minded it...

"Give her the baby." Redmond glared at the healer, who was holding his baby. He peeked to see the little thing had calmed down and sucked on its tiny fingers, seemingly wanted to cry again.

At the same time, Kaz snapped out of his reverie when he heard Sofia’s voice, as if he just realized the gravity of the situation and finally came to his senses.

"Swindler... a fraud..." Kaz mumbled under his breath and then his eyes fell on the baby before he shifted his hatred toward Sofia, who was still laying weakly on the bed. "Slut! You are a slut! How dare you to deceive us by saying you were pregnant with the alpha’s child! How dare you to give birth to this bastard?!"

Kaz’s body was trembling when anger coursed through his veins, he charged forward as he shifted into his beast, he was ready to kill Sofia with his own hands. He would rip her apart for deceiving them, for deceiving him!

He had endured all the pain to side with her when the alpha didn’t want to recognize the baby as his, he had offended the alpha by siding with her and incurred his wrath. He had been in dispute with the luna because he believed this slut was carrying the alpha’s firstborn.

But now when the baby was here, he was not the alpha’s! Who knew, who was the baby’s father! It could be alpha Gallot’s or some random men she met! Either way, it didn’t make things better! How dare she claimed to have the alpha’s child?!

Kaz and the other people had endured the punishment and stayed in the dungeon for weeks, they even offended the luna and what they had gotten?! He even lost his position that always be his pride because of this!

He thought it would be worth it, since he chose the right decision to stand by the future alpha of the pack, but he was so wrong. Completely wrong.

Kaz’s beast rushed toward bed, where Sofia was still lying tiredly.

Everything went so fast and they didn’t expect Kaz to be so livid, until this old steward had the intention to kill Sofia, thus when they watched Kaz shifted into his beast, they were too shocked to react in time.

But, a grey beast knocked him out before he could harm Sofia. The grey beast was bigger and stronger than the brown one, which was no other than Kaz. He was too old to tangle in a fight with a warrior in his prime. There was no way he could fight Redmond in his beast’s form, neither he stood a chance if he was in his human form.

The grey beast roared dangerously at the brown one, warning him to back off, or else, he would have ripped his limbs one by one, pieces by pieces.

Maria whimpered, she was trembling, while shaking her head. Tears streamed down her face and she looked like she had gotten older by a few decades now.

She was a mess, everyone was the same.

The brown wolf shifted into his human form again and whimpered, because his body knocked on the wall and left a huge dent there. Ardand immediately came to him and check on the old steward.

"Ho- how dare you to attack me!" Kaz wailed. He was in so much pain. "I am going to kill that slut! That whore has deceived us! Step back, Redmond! Or else, I am going to kill you too!"

It was laughable. His threat wouldn’t work when he was the one, who needed the healer after such collision.

Redmond shifted back into his human form and barked at the healer. "What are you doing?! Give the baby to her!" his anger was uncontrollable when he heard the baby started crying, while he stalked toward Kaz, who was still laying on the floor, holding his broken arm. "Do you want to kill me? Do you have the skill to do that?"

"You bastard! You should kill that woman and that baby to show your loyalty to the Howling Wolf pack!" Kaz barked back, while Ardand tried to make him stopped talking to no avail.

The old healer could see the situation had escalated quickly and neither of them could think clearly, as they were too engrossed with their emotions.

"Loyalty?" Redmond repeated the word in mocking tone. "My loyalty is with the luna, not to this pack, you idiot old thing!"

That was true. It was Iris, to whom he pledged his loyalty to, not the alpha or this pack. He couldn’t care less about this bunch of stupid people!

"Redmond!" Kaz growled viciously at him, he was very angry, he wanted to kill this warrior from the Blue Moon pack, who had defended the slut, who had deceived him.

But then, a realization crossed his mind, which he didn’t pay close attention before. The baby’s eyes had the same color like Redmond’s beast.

Was that... it couldn’t be, right?

"Don’t tell me..." Kaz was shaking, he was trembling with this new realization that just hit him. He was having a hard time to breath and Ardand kept telling him to calm down.

"Redmond! Don’t take it too far! You shouldn’t defend the swindler, who had deceived us!" People from the outside of the bedroom started to make commotion.

"Back down, Redmond! This is none of your business!"
