The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter -
Chapter 428: HORRIFIED
Chapter 428: HORRIFIED
Iris didn’t know whether she should laugh or cry at this point. She was completely speechless, but for an entirely different reason.
It was clear to see that the lycan and Cane had two totally different personalities. They were actually polar opposites.
"Why are you crying at something he said, that’s the bare minimum a pack member has to show you," the lycan said nonchalantly. "They should have kissed the ground you walked on for everything you have done for them."
Not knowing how to react to this, Iris shook her head and took his hand. "Let’s eat our breakfast," she said in a defeated tone and the lycan followed her happily.
The four trays, piled with dishes with most of them made of meat, greeted them and Iris could clearly see how elated Cane was to see so many dishes in his eyes.
"They brought so many dishes." Iris was worried the food would be wasted. She felt particularly bad about this kind of thing, yet the lycan had a different thought.
"They should have brought more."
"You can finish it all?" Iris knew Cane ate a lot, but even as his portion, this was too much.
"I can eat more." Cane pulled out a chair and let Iris sit down at the table, as he took a seat next to her.
"No. You can get sick if you eat too much!" Iris didn’t want this lycan to ruin Cane’s health, after all, Haco had told her how reckless the lycan could be when he took over his body once a month.
However, Cane shoved a piece of meat into her mouth to make her stop chiding him. "Eat more, you need more meat than I do."
Iris munched on the meat and could only sigh. This lycan was a handful. It was less than a day since he took over Cane’s consciousness, and Iris could already say it was not going to be an easy job to deal with him. Thankfully, he listened to her thus far.
When they were having their breakfast, Jace, Ethan and Haco came to the study room and sat there, to discuss what they were going to do when the royals arrived the next day with Cane still like this.
"I can do something to his eyes," Haco said, nodding at Cane, who gobbled up a big piece of meat and nudged Iris to eat more, while she had given up a long time ago. Her stomach was not as big as his.
"Don’t you dare do anything to my eyes!" Cane growled.
"Lu!" Iris reprimanded him and the lycan lowered his head, focusing back on his meal, while Ethan and Jace were both dumbstruck.
"I don’t know if I can recover from this sight..." Ethan mumbled. "I have never seen Cane so docile, not even when he was a child."
"I don’t think I can either," Jace agreed with the Gamma. The sight of Cane being reprimanded by Iris was too absurd for them, they were in denial to see how ungracious the Alpha was. This was something Cane would never do. People would start seeing the difference between their Alpha and the lycan sooner than later.
"Yes, but the problem does not only lie with his eyes," Iris stated their main problem. If it was Cane with red eyes, the Alpha could find a way to get himself out of the trouble with some story here and there, but they didn’t think the lycan would have the decency to care so much about the whole situation.
"I know." Jace looked defeated. "We can say the Alpha is being cursed or something, so no one could see him for the meantime."
"No way!" The lycan strongly rejected the idea. As a cursed creature, it was an insult to him. "What do you want? You want me to meet with that useless king, who can’t keep his dick inside his pants? If I meet him, see what I am going to do to him."
The four of them felt like they were going to have a hard attack to hear such a declaration.
Jace clutched his head. He concluded he was going to deal with a constant headache, while Ethan started to think that was not a bad idea. After all, he hated the royal family, while Haco could only slouch in his chair, mumbling. "I am doomed." He had cursed Princess Osana and Cane was the only protection he had and now, this lycan was going to ruin his life again.
On the other hand, Iris could only stare at him, unable to say anything.
"What?" the lycan frowned at their reaction. "Your alpha also thinks the King is useless."
"Yes, but he will never say it out loud," Jace argued and the lycan scoffed at that statement.
"Because he is a coward. If he wants the throne, kill the King and take his seat, easy," the lycan said nonchalantly, as he munched on his meat. "I have killed a thousand beasts for him, do you think I can’t kill a measly man, who only knows how to reproduce?"
"I think I am going to see Grace after this to get some medicine for my headache," Jace said under his breath.
"Actually, I like that idea, though..." Ethan tilted his head, voicing out his opinion calmly.
However, the lycan seemed pleased to hear such a confession. He raised his greasy hand at Ethan, curled his fingers inside and gestured to the Gamma to exchange a fist bump with him.
"Great thinking, Gamma!" Lu said with a big grin.
Ethan raised his fist and bumped it against his, grinning as well.
"Don’t give him ideas!" Jace scolded the Gamma and the latter just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "You know it’s not that easy to kill the King!"
"I am just saying, is all," Ethan said in a small voice.
He knew it was not as easy as saying it. Though the King was incompetent, at the end of the day, he was still the King.
He had a hundred times the number of warriors than them, not to mention the several packs that were still under his control. Even with the help of the lycan, it would not make their strengths equal and if the whereabouts of the lycan were made known and it was proven the Howling Wolf pack had a connection to this cursed creature, it would not only be the continent which they lived in they had to face but also the Holy Kingdom. They would get involved too.
Not to mention the fact that Cane had gotten the Seraphim to come to this continent, seeing from their current situation, that whole plan looked nothing short of a suicide mission.
They were deep in thought, mulling over what they were going to do about the King’s arrival the next day, this was their main focus now.
"Can’t you give us Cane back?" Iris asked gently, she even made a gesture to touch his arm while looking at him pleadingly.
"Don’t want to," Lu said simply.
"Or at least, give us a chance to talk to the Alpha, so we know what his idea is about this situation," Jace coaxed the lycan. They were so desperate for their alpha’s guidance now. They were not meticulous schemers like Cane, thus they were at a loss now.
"Don’t want to."
"Or, at least, do you know what Cane has in his mind? There are a lot of things that need his instructions, but he never explained the whole thing to us. Can I ask you a few questions about it? See what he is thinking and what his next instruction is?"
"No. His way of thinking is too complicated, I don’t like to hear it."
Apparently, the lycan could spy on Cane’s thoughts, but because he was too lazy to listen to his thought process, he just chose to lay dormant. The only thing he cared about was when the new moon came and he could feel Iris nearby.
Knowing it wouldn’t work, they gave up making any suggestions.
When the room fell silent, as they wrecked their brains to think of a solution, Lu suddenly spoke to Haco.
"Fix this," Lu said, as he leaned his back against the seat, wiping his dirty hand with the napkin.
"Fix what?" Haco frowned, nothing good came out of a request from the lycan.
"This." Cane nodded down. "My penis."
Iris felt like the little lizard just spit fire at her face, as she turned so red, while Jace and Ethan choked on their own saliva and Haco facepalmed himself. He had heard about what had happened to Cane and what he had endured, thus he knew what he meant.
However, Lu didn’t seem to be bothered by their reactions as he continued.
"I want to have a child with my mate. Fix this," he said in a matter of fact tone.
"If you are looking for healthcare advice, you are asking the wrong person." Haco rubbed his face roughly. This was not an appropriate conversation, more so, this matter was not as important as what they had to face tomorrow. At least, not at this moment.
"You can fix this." This time, Lu pointed at his member. "Try."
"I am not in the mood to see that part of your body!" Haco freaked out, so did the rest of them when Lu was about to stand up and pull down his pants. Iris immediately pushed him down to sit again, now her face was as red as her hair.
"You can use dark magic, you know."
"I will need to sacrifice thousands of people’s lives!"
The lycan then looked at Ethan. "How many people live in this pack?"
"NO!" All of them shouted at the same time, horrified.
