The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter
Chapter 407: THEY FOLLOW YOU

Chapter 407: THEY FOLLOW YOU

Not only did Cane bring Iris along, but he also took Alpha Dristan and some of the warriors from the Red Claw pack as well, leaving only Koda in this pack. He was an insignificant person in this whole project, he was no longer even the Beta of the pack.

Sir Elijah and his warriors also left to the Howling Wolf pack, which meant, all the hard labor and everything related to the building of magical devices around the tunnel would fall under Lou’s responsibility.

It would be a long entourage and there would be a welcoming party for the King in the pack.

At this point, Lou felt like an abandoned child, who was being left behind to get the chores done. He felt sick to his stomach, knowing he walked straight into Cane’s trap and now he was trapped here!

"Damn you, Cane! Damn it!" Lou threw anything that he could reach and smashed it against the wall, while Sabian tried to calm down his master.

"Master, you need to calm down, you need to calm down, or else, someone will hear you cursing the Alpha of the Howling Wolf pack," Sabian said desperately. He had warned Lou about this, but the latter didn’t take him seriously, believing he could counter whatever scheme Cane threw at him, but as it turned out, Cane was too cunning for him to handle.

Moreover, people from the Riverside pack were in favor of the Alpha after being fed and clothed by him. The Luna also contributed with some effort and was on good terms with the people in this pack. They would be in trouble if they heard Lou cussing the Alpha out.

Lou grumbled, pacing back and forth, his skin was itchy, as a burning rage crept all over his skin.

"Master, why are you so hung up on that woman? You know the Alpha likes her. You will only put yourself in trouble if you pursue her, right?" Sabian couldn’t understand this. His master was usually very cautious and never acted out of impulse, but right now, he chased a woman like a madman, disregarding who that woman belonged to.

"I want her," Lou grumbled in frustration.

And that was the answer he would give Sabian whenever the latter asked. Ending the conversation. Only Lou himself knew why he really wanted Iris in the first place and no one could pry the truth out of his mouth if he was not willing.

==========================

Iris entered the carriage and was surprised to see the inside. "Is this... the same carriage as before?"

The interior and the exterior of the carriage had been changed and even the crest of the Riverside pack had been changed to a black wolf, which was the symbol of the Howling Wolf pack, but Iris was sure this was the same carriage.

"Yes," Cane nodded, as he entered the carriage as well and sat down next to her.

Iris tilted her head at him and frowned. "Why? You took the carriage of the Alpha from the Riverside’s carriage? I thought, you didn’t want this thing because..." Iris’ voice trailed off, but Cane understood what she wanted to say.

"I have asked people to clean and change a few things in this carriage, Haco has also done his job cleaning up everything," Cane explained. "Moreover, this carriage is made of some rare and expensive wood, it will be a waste if I don’t use it."

This carriage must have been used by the Alpha to sleep with countless women during his journey here. It was kind of disgusting, but it was built of expensive wood, designed beautifully and built in such a way, which made the passengers feel comfortable traveling in it.

Cane didn’t like wasting such good things. Moreover, Haco had put a few spells around this carriage as well. It would be simply a waste of effort if he threw it away.

"So, this carriage belongs to you now?"

"This is the official carriage for our pack."

Iris was slightly taken aback with the way Cane said ’our pack’, and the Alpha immersed himself in all the reports that flooded in from all the spies that he put in various places.

Aside from the former six spies, Arthur had trained more spies for Cane to use, that was what Iris had learned when she read his reports. Cane knew she was reading them and didn’t mind it.

"I didn’t know that you are into luxurious things," Iris stated.

"Everything has its own value." That was how Cane saw things.

And with that, the half day journey to the Howling Wolf pack began. They would finally return to the pack after almost four months.

If Iris was correct, that woman would be around six months pregnant. It would be another three months before the baby could be born and they found out the truth that it was not Cane’s baby.

But, during that time, all the pack members would treat that woman like a savior, just because they thought she was carrying the firstborn of their alpha, his heir.

An heir was so important for a man in this world, that was why many men in high positions usually had more than one woman, aside from their own mate.

"Cane." Iris tugged his sleeve, calling his name in a small voice.

Cane knew how to read people, that was how he could often get himself out of troubles, thus he knew when Iris was being conflicted and something was bothering her mind.

"What is it?" He put down the report in his hands and gave her his whole attention.

"I don’t think your pack will accept me."

"Because of that woman?" Cane didn’t even mention her name. He watched how Iris nodded. "You are their luna, you don’t need their acceptance. They must follow you."

Iris was frustrated to read what he said. It was easy for him to say that when people followed him without a second thought.

"People assume she is carrying your child." Iris grew agitated when she mentioned that.
