Chapter 366: PREDICAMENT (3)
Chapter 366: PREDICAMENT (3)
Iris bit her lips until she could feel her blood in her mouth, tears rolled down her eyes, as she tried to reach for something in the side pocket of her dress, which now gathered around her waist.
Alpha Gill wasn’t paying close attention to her, as he was busy enjoying whatever he could do at this moment to satisfy his own needs.
Iris fought the waves of disgust and hatred feelings she was going through right now. She hated the feeling of his hands on her and how he touched her. It brought back more memories of when Kellan assaulted her when she was a child.
The images that flashed before her eyes were so vivid, the touch from Alpha Gill and what he was doing to her, overlapped with the images of what Kellan had done to her. Everything came crashing down on her at the same time, rendering her petrified.
Her hand stopped moving to find the dagger that Cane gave to her, her mind froze, caging her in her own fears and trapping her in her trauma, as the same thing was happening to her again, right now.
She should fight, but she couldn’t move a finger. She should scream asking for help, but she lost the ability to do so as well.
Her brain was entrapped in the darkest memory of her life, which she tried to forget and her mind was her enemy right now.
Cane...
She kept calling that name to keep herself sane, yet, even so, it was so hard for her to stop the stream of thoughts, flooding her senses, from dragging her down.
Iris stared at the ceiling, trying to move her body, as she breathed erratically. Though Alpha Gill was no longer covering her mouth and nose and she was supposed to be able to breathe freely, she still felt like she was being strangled.
Cane...
Iris tried to ward off image after image of Kellan. Her memories returned in such a time, where she really didn’t need it.
And when she thought she would be done for, Iris saw a wisp, which gradually took the shape of a wolf... a dark grey wolf. The wolf was akin to a puff of smoke and it descended down on her, close enough for Iris to touch it if she could lift her hand.
For a moment, she was distracted by the sight. What was this? Could other people see it? But then, she felt this ominous feeling, where she felt a sudden rage within her, like a storm that hit you so hard.
Iris hated the sight of the grey wolf somehow and eventually lifted her hand to strangle the dark grey smoke, which had the form of a wolf. She tightened her grip and the smoke evaporated.
And at the same time, Alpha Gill let out a shriek, so loud, it rang throughout the walls. The sound was akin to a goat being butchered.
He clutched his chest tightly and rolled his body to the side. Curling over in pain.
Once Alpha Gill got off of her body and Iris could move easily, she immediately grabbed the silver dagger from the crumpled mess of her dress and stabbed the Alpha on his shoulder several times.
"DIE! DIE! DIE!" Iris screamed, as if she was possessed. "GO DIE!"
Because of the commotion and the constant screams from inside the room, Redmond, who was looking for Iris, because he couldn’t find her in her bedroom, immediately approached this room. He wouldn’t be mistaken, it must be her voice.
And the sight before his eyes was something he had never thought he would ever see. He was petrified to see her right now.
Just less than an hour ago, Iris was that bashful woman, who was scared to ride a warhorse on her own, but right now, she basked in blood with a silver dagger in her hand and a murderous intention so strong in her dark blue eyes.
She glared viciously at Redmond, as if he was interrupting something important she was doing and out of instinct, he took a step back out of fear...
"I- Iris...?" He was not sure this was the same person he had known until now, such a ferocious sight... would it be really her?
Somewhere, miles away from this pack, across the sea, in a certain hall, the light around the five swords dimmed...
==============================
The monster attack lasted for six hours and took the lives of a dozen warriors from the Red Claw pack and the royal warriors.
Thankfully, the warriors from the Howling Wolf pack managed to survive the attack and none of them lost their lives.
"Let me see," Will said curtly upon seeing the wound on Hanna’s arm, he made her sit down on a huge rock, so he could check how deep her wound was. He was worried the monster that had attacked her was poisonous.
Hanna got hurt when Will wasn’t paying close attention to her, since he had to fight a troll by himself.
"No need, it will heal eventually," Hanna said gloomily, as she retracted her hand from his grip, but Will grabbed her wrist back and pulled her sleeve up to check on her. "I told you, there is no need for you to care!" Hanna raised her voice slightly.
Yet, Will didn’t budge, he held her hand firmly, not letting her go, even when Hanna glared daggers at him.
"That’s all it takes for you to talk to me? Should I bleed first for you to deign me with your presence, or should I be dying for you to finally look at me?" Hanna poured out her grievances through her gritted teeth, she kept trying to pull her hand away from him, but he was way stronger than her.
Meanwhile, all the warriors around them immediately moved away to give the two of them some personal space. They didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire. Hanna could be very scary when she was angry and Will really needed to get scolded for his behavior and the way he treated her.
"I will get something to stop the bleeding." Will ignored Hanna’s sarcastic words, as he stood up, about to leave, but Hanna grabbed his hand and used all of her strength to make him turn around and face her.
"If you want to avoid me, keep avoiding me! Your actions leave me confused! I don’t understand what’s going on with you, but if you don’t care about me, stay away from me!"
After saying that, Hanna left Will alone, as the man stared at her back and for the first time, he felt something. He felt the pain upon seeing how much he had hurt her.
=========================
"What happened?" Cane asked darkly when he saw Redmond waiting for him in front of a certain bedroom.
Jace couldn’t explain the situation in detail because he was also clueless. The Beta only told Cane something bad had happened to Iris and the Alpha rushed here, disregarding the other alphas.
"You need to do something," Redmond said quickly, as he opened the door to let Cane see what actually happened to Iris.
And the sight before Cane’s eyes made his heart lurch, he stopped in his tracks upon seeing the gruesome scene in this room.
