Chapter 9: SysDi 9: Information about Stardust Academy
Eating dinner with a guest is surprisingly pleasant.
Evan doesn’t remember if they’ve ever had someone visit them before that they had to serve food too. But this is really nice.
He could see that Spire is having a great time eating the same food that they were having. She wasn’t complaining, and she is also very polite.
Evan guessed that her rude personality is just reserved for him. He wonders why that is how she acts around him. He couldn’t really ask her straight since her smile would just turn upside down the moment he started talking.
So, he lets it be for now.
"Evan, buddy, can you grab the brochure from the bedside table?" Erwin says, once he saw that Evan is done eating.
Evan nods his head and stood up. He made his way towards his parents’ room, taking the brochure and went back.
He gave it to Erwin and sat back on the seat he was on earlier.
"Oh! Stardust Academy!" Spire says, recognizing the brochure. She turns at Evan and tilts her head, her fox-ears standing in slight attention. "You’re planning on getting to the academy too?"
"Yeah, that’s the plan." Evan replied, before turning his attention to his dad.
Erwin unfolds the brochure. It is folded in two, each page inked with a very neat handwriting.
Evan leans in while Erwin started reading what each pages contains.

There is a bit of silence in the dining room after Erwin finished reading. He puts down the brochure and looked at Spire. "It doesn’t say here how much the enrollment fee would be."
Spire nods her head. "Yes, because that would be depended on the child’s performance. They sometimes waive the fee if they see great potential on a student."
"So, there really is no concrete way of knowing huh?" Evan says, eyebrows furrowed a little.
That would mean that he needs to find out a way to get more information. If Evan didn’t want to be a burden to his parents, there should be a way...
Erwin hums. "That’s fine. They are very thorough here."
Spire shook her head. "Not really. They don’t mention when the classes start there. Since I’m from Xertle, most of us there know that. There are three batches of exams that will begin three months from now. Actual classes starts next year on the first month, but students approved after enrollment could get in as early as they were approved."
"From what I heard, Xertle is a big city." Evan tells at Spire. "Just... You seem to know a lot about the school. It’s not like you know everything unless you did some asking right?"
"That’s true. I would’ve been applied already since have my requirements were prepared if I wasn’t kidnapped." Spire sighs. "It’s an amazing magic school! Are you going to be sending requirements too? We can try the exams together." She looks very eager and hopeful somehow.
Her fluffy tail behind her wags from side to side energetically, seemingly excited.
The sight is cute that Evan couldn’t look away.
He only snapped out of it when Sylvia cleared his throat.
"Well, if your mind is set, we can help you prepare the requirements. We’ll figure out the next steps once we get there." Sylvia smiles and stands up. "All right, you two. You can both go to your room. We’ll clean up here."
Spire was the first to stand and leave, getting to their shared room.
Evan stayed for a bit. "Are you sure you’re really allowing me to apply?"
Erwin nods his head. "Yes, I told you we’ll try right? Let’s talk more in the next few days about this. Good night."
Evan kissed his parents good night before heading to his room.
