Most of the relic’s abilities in general could only become available when the holder reached a certain [Soul Order].
That was the case, usually for almost everyone who had resonated with their divine relics, especially those who had an ego and recognized their holders as their true owners.
However, Caelen, whose head rolled on the ground with his expression painted with utter incredulity, seemed to have belatedly realized in his last moments that something of an unknown ability or [Talent] struck him.
The information about the Divine Weapons of the Astraea Family was widely known to every Hero Bloodline. Of course, talent-wise, it’s a different matter.
That’s why Caelen, before his fading consciousness ate away his existence, couldn’t comprehend what just happened.
With his time seemingly slowing, he saw Alana, whose body was bloodied and battered at the very least, staring at him with emotionless eyes—something that a 17-year-old girl shouldn’t have.
Was it because she had lived alone all this time?
Or was it due to her estrangement from her mother and father?
Politically, the Seven Hero Bloodlines were a cesspool of desire, and the Astraea Family was not an exception in this case.
That’s why, witnessing Caelen turn to the other side, Alana slowly opened her mouth, and as the sense of hearing was the last to vanish during someone’s demise, Caelen heard her cold words filled with conviction.
"I will purge everybody that taints humanity—everything that my brother protected."
Thud.

Finishing Caelen off, Alana didn’t waste a second to reach for the [Atlan Sphere] labyrinth.
Her body eventually healed, thanks to one of her [Talents], specifically the [Luminous Physique], which granted her the ability to be as light as a feather and regenerate whenever ’light’ existed. In other words, as long as the sky provided light from any sources, Alana bathed in it would recover any wounds her body suffered.
Then, just Caelen’s figure disappeared from her view, a familiar voice echoed in her head,
< "Hey, miss with always a deadpan expression." >
It was Maya.
Alana didn’t know how such a girl could possess the ability to just grant absurd nicknames to everyone. However, she immediately dismissed the idea that this battle maniac contacted her simply because she was excited to see her.
That being said, Alana surmised that it wouldn’t be surprising at all if Maya already knew that something had gone wrong in this supposedly mere island exam that turned quickly into a genuine survival.
< "It’s possible there are students aligned with the demonkind." >
Alana responded without an ounce of hesitation. Then, on the other side of wide-range telepathic communication, as if Maya was momentarily amused, a reply came back after a few seconds that felt like an eternity,
< "I see. It seems you’ve encountered at least one of them, huh." >
Alana didn’t clear Maya’s guess—that she, in truth, faced the Head Counselor and her own blood relative.
< "Contact everybody. Warn them of the lurking danger." > Alana said.
< "Why are you ordering me around?" > Maya found it displeasing.
< "Just... Just do it! Would you?! Is your pride more important than some innocent lives?!" > Alana screamed in her mind.
Maya found it pleasing, weirdly enough, that Alana’s composure was totally different when it came to dangerous matters and the presence of demonkind.
< "Miss to-be True Hero, you owe me a spar with your overbearing attitude, remember that. See you in the labyrinth." > Maya immediately cut off the connection.
Alana, sensing that the connection vanished, proceeded to activate Seraphmire’s function—Heaven and Hell—causing it to be split into two.
Then, with her grip and throwing strength that far surpassed her jumping power, she let go of the Scythe of Light and hurled it towards the direction of the labyrinth, the central region of the island.
The scythe then flew at incredible speed, recognizing the will of its master.
Whoosh!

A few selected students who were playing cat-and-mouse were taken aback by the girl’s voice that invaded their consciousness.
However, even though they initially doubted Maya’s words that was momentarily viewed as some sort of psychological trick to spread panic among the different raid groups, they didn’t ignore the underlying and potential threat.
Rosanna Quinn-selah Al Divinia, the Imperial Princess who had a complicated relationship with the genius magician of the Hero Academy, asked,
< "Are you sure you’re not spouting lies, Maya? If there are demonkind among the students, they would have been detected by the pious priests of the Church of Light in the academy before we traveled for this exam..." >
Walking in the premises of the Hero Academy as a demonkind was tantamount to suicide; that’s why the Imperial Princess’s concern and reluctance were warranted.
But then, there’s something she had overlooked as Maya corrected her seemingly naive mindset.
< "You adorable foolish princess. Since when has the demonkind been the only race that blasphemes against the almighty?" >
Humans could ally with the demonkind without being demonkind themselves.
< "..." >
The Imperial Princess was at a loss for words, understandably so.
Sometimes, the absence of the Demon King caused harm far one could imagine among humanity.
Sensing her silence, Maya continued,
< "Don’t panic princess. Use your head. Even if your reputation has been taking a hit recently because of your intriguing unknown condition, they will instinctively obey you. In the end, status-wise, you are superior to them. The only way those who have allied themselves to the demonkind can prove or show themselves is through... a surprise attack, perhaps when everyone’s sleeping." >
Hearing this, Princess Rosanna’s complexion paled.
< "T-Then, what should we do?" >
< "Find and go inside a dungeon, then sniff out the demonkind’s ally. You know... Just kill them, for fuck’s sake." >
Princess Rosanna gulped, sensing that the situation was no laughing matter.
After that, the others Maya had contacted—the Crown Prince Vaeron and Golden Crown’s heart, Ravelle—also questioned her information. However, when she tried to contact at least one or two from Class Mu, specifically the girl who stood out for opening her mouth without brakes despite being a noble herself, confusion spread over her face.
Maya, who began her plan to invade the [Atlan Sphere], could not reach anyone belonging to Class Mu!
It was as though they had been cut off from the world.
There were two possibilities—either these two raid groups of thirty-nine (39) students had quickly found and gone inside a dungeon... Or that they were all wiped out in such a short amount of time.
Not that she would expect there’s a third unthinkable scenario.
< "I thought you were all dead. Were you inside a dungeon?" >
Finally, a connection was established.
Even though they weren’t close, Maya was somewhat drawn to Morgan’s attitude—it was as if they were in the same root of being personified rude.
< "Ah. Yes. Who’s this?" > Morgan asked, a hint of surprise filled her voice.
< "Of course you wouldn’t instantly recognize. It’s Maya from Class Alpha. There’s something you have to know..." >
Maya was not aware that she might be affiliated with the demonkind among Class Mu. Nonetheless, she had to at least contact two different people in the same class.
After hearing the situation, Morgan fell silent, though Maya had no clue regarding her present circumstances.
< "Okay. I’ll work on my side." >
’That’s extremely suspicious.’ Maya thought, gauging that Morgan seemed to be talking half-heartedly... and pretending to be surprised by everything.

Near the place where Caelen’s head and body had fallen, a dark crimson warp opened.
A moment later, a foot appeared, and the entire figure of a woman with crimson eyes and ashen hair fully emerged from it.
Seeing Caelen’s dead body, the woman murmured,
"A dead body with a living soul shall not know death."
