Supremely Talented Tyrant
Chapter 916 - 915: Have a Meal

After smoothly resolving Old Man Zhang's issue, Hao Jian got back in his car and drove to the school to pick Tongtong up at the school gate.

After chatting briefly with Tongtong's homeroom teacher, Hao Jian took Tongtong and left the school, rushing home. By the time they arrived, Wen Lan had just returned as well. Hao Jian barely had time to get comfortable before receiving a phone call from Li He. He had no choice but to hand Tongtong over to Wen Lan and dash out the door again in a hurry.

Li He had said that he'd just been discharged from the hospital and wanted to properly celebrate with a feast. Considering this was obviously a good thing, Hao Jian agreed without hesitation. Wen Lan, knowing the situation, didn't bother asking Hao Jian to stay home for dinner.

Tongtong, however, wanted to tag along with Hao Jian. But before she could act, Wen Lan scooped her up in her arms and shot Hao Jian a withering glance. If Tongtong went along too, she'd be the only one eating dinner at home tonight—now that was absolutely not an option!

"Haha, this is killing me! What you did this afternoon really had me laughing nonstop!" The moment Hao Jian arrived at the food stall and saw Li He, Li He erupted into laughter before Hao Jian could even say a word. His exaggerated mirth had Hao Jian itching to go over and smack him.

"Seriously, what was up with that old guy…?" Hao Jian pulled out a chair, sat down, and rubbed his face in exasperation. Then, reaching over to pat Li He on the shoulder, he smiled faintly and said, "But keep laughing like this, and you might end up worse off than that old guy…"

"Gah—cough, cough, don't joke like that! I just recovered from illness; the doctor said I shouldn't get too worked up…"

Although Hao Jian was still smiling, Li He's boisterous laughs suddenly cut off, like a duck with its neck clamped, replaced by an embarrassed chuckle.

"How did you even hear about this?"

Li He chortled awkwardly and replied, "Someone told me about it, of course. The moment I saw you, I couldn't help thinking about it, and then I just couldn't stop myself from laughing…"

"Hm…"

Hearing Li He's explanation, Hao Jian was about to nod when, suddenly, laughter rang out again like an explosion…

"Haha! I can't take it! I remembered it again, it's killing me! Haha!"

Li He was clutching his stomach with laughter so contagious that others dining nearby began casting curious glances. Hao Jian's expression turned slightly awkward. Sighing in resignation, he grabbed Li He's shoulder, pressed him down onto the table with force…

"Ow, ow, ow!"

"Bang bang bang! You think it's funny? Laugh! Go on, keep laughing! Oh, it's hilarious, huh?!"

Hao Jian followed up by punching Li He repeatedly in the face. His punches appeared fierce, but their actual strength was perfectly measured—not too heavy, nor too light—executed with precision.

The food stall's owner watched Hao Jian's actions but didn't step in, knowing him well. He also knew Li He and understood that the two were close friends—brothers, really. Hao Jian wasn't actually going to hurt him. Otherwise, Li He wouldn't be putting up such dramatic cries.

Li He's howls sounded as pitiful as possible, but underneath the theatrics, it was clear most of the agony was for show…

"Ahh, ahhh!"

Li He's cries grew progressively more exaggerated, morphing until, unbelievably, they started to sound rhythmic—almost like he was beating out a tune with his voice.

"Alright, that's enough. Get up already!"

Finally fed up, Hao Jian ceased his mock punitive assault, stomped his foot on the ground, and caused Li He's prostrate body to jolt upward. With a small flick of his toe, Hao Jian nudged Li He back onto his chair.

"You're too cruel! You've ruined my incredibly handsome face! It's going to take me days before I can go out again!" Sitting in his chair, Li He gingerly rubbed his panda-like bruised eyes, looking plaintively at Hao Jian with an air of protest.

Faced with Li He's exaggerated grievance, Hao Jian suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. While rarely fazed, this ridiculous display managed to shake him slightly.

Rolling his eyes, he shrugged and explained flatly, "You brought it on yourself. I didn't force you. If you're going to act like a fool in front of me, be prepared to face the consequences."

With that, Hao Jian turned and gestured toward the busy stall owner, yelling, "Boss, bring us a dozen ice-cold beers and all your best barbeque skewers!"

"Got it! Coming right up!"

Responding cheerfully, the stall owner instructed a waitress to bring over the beer while he quickly threw the best ingredients he had onto the grill.

"Wait a second… The boss has at least dozens of different dishes here. Judging from how he's served us before, he'll probably bring four or five skewers of every dish. You…you don't seriously expect me to eat all this, do you?"

Li He pointed at Hao Jian, then himself, his eyes widening as he swallowed nervously. This guy was clearly trying to make him eat until he burst!

"Cut it out, you definitely eat the most out of anyone here. If you don't finish everything tonight, don't bother coming to me again!" Hao Jian was deliberately messing with Li He. Ever since Li He had been discharged, his liveliness had reached a new height. If he didn't rein him in soon, the guy would probably start flying.

The two bantered jovially back and forth, as the stall owner soon served up their order. Seeing the variety of barbeque dishes now laid out before them, the duo immediately dug in, their mouths watering.

Although someone fresh out of the hospital should ideally be cautious about their diet, such concerns scarcely crossed Li He's mind—and, evidently, neither did they trouble Hao Jian.

Don't forget, Hao Jian also dabbled in medicine. With his expertise, he could precisely assess Li He's physical condition and knew exactly what he could and couldn't eat.

The two guzzled beer and devoured skewers with great gusto, savoring every bite just as time began to slip by. They ended up eating and drinking for over two hours straight…

"Alright, it's getting late—we should head back."

Hao Jian tilted his head back, taking a final swig to finish the last bottle of beer. Setting it down on the table, he burped, his cheeks flushed from the alcohol. He shook his head lightly, ignoring the mild pressure in his stomach and brain, and addressed Li He.

Given Hao Jian's physical fitness, drinking was no big deal. Even after all that beer, the worst he felt was a bit bloated and dizzy—nothing serious.

As for Li He, the guy was a complete alcoholic. No matter how many bottles he downed, he'd burp once and act as if nothing had happened.

Between the two, they had polished off two dozen beers, with occasional breaks to dash to the restroom. Their bottomless consumption left many diners nearby somewhat unsettled. Were these two even human? How could they drink so much without any consequences?

Only the food stall's owner knew just how special these two were—he'd never seen either of them falter from overdrinking.

"Boss, here's payment for the meal. Thanks for the hospitality!"

Hearing Hao Jian announce it was time to go, Li He pulled out his wallet, retrieved eight crisp bills, and slapped them onto the table before laughing, stepping over the chair, and heading for his sports car.

The owner was surprised to see Li He leave so much money. Attempting to call him back, he shouted, "Young Master Li, that's too much! There's no need for this!"

"Hah! Boss, you know how this guy is, right? Once he hands over money, there's no way he's taking it back. Just keep it!"

Hao Jian stopped the stall owner from chasing after Li He. He chuckled and said, "Better take it. Otherwise, next time we eat here, you can't blame us for skipping the bill."

"Young Master Hao, if you're eating here, I wouldn't charge you anyway!"

The owner's words made Hao Jian pause in disbelief. For a moment, he felt he had sabotaged himself with his own cleverness.

"Alright, now that we're stuffed, it's time for my beauty sleep. See you!"

Hao Jian ignored the owner's reaction and swiftly stepped over a chair, sprinting toward his car.

Once inside, it took him a mere three seconds to start the car, slam the accelerator, and head toward home.

Li He, who had left earlier, took a different route since their destinations didn't align.

"Ah…"

Listening to the fading sound of engines, the stall owner sighed helplessly, grabbing the pile of cash from the table and tossing it into the register without another glance.

"Hao Jian, Shu Ya is coming over for dinner tomorrow night. I'll need to go shopping with her—wanna come?" Wen Lan asked when Hao Jian returned home.

"Sure!"

Hao Jian paused for a moment while kicking off his shoes. Then he smiled warmly and nodded in agreement.

Seeing that Hao Jian had no objections, Wen Lan also nodded. She didn't bother him further, continuing instead to watch a children's cartoon with Tongtong on the couch.

Hao Jian, on the other hand, went to the bathroom to shower, eager to rid himself of the smell of alcohol and the lingering odors from the food stall.

No matter how immune he was to alcohol, the overwhelming stench of booze and grilled food clinging to his clothes was unbearable.

"Hello, Shu Ya? Let's meet tomorrow at 3 PM. Should your work schedule permit it?" While Hao Jian took his shower, Wen Lan dialed Shu Ya's phone number...
