Chapter 1005 - 63 Radiant Sovereign

Chapter 1005: Chapter 63 Radiant Sovereign

After Annan advanced to the Gold tier, his original skill bar and spell list underwent a drastic transformation.

At a glance, one might not even be sure whether this was still a profession within the Wizard category.

Radiant Sovereign LV31: [Hindrance Mastery LV1 (Frost Aura, Shocking Aura, Frost Domain)], [Enhancement Mastery LV1 (Radiance Form, Group Radiance Weapon)], [Healing Mastery LV1 (Healing Aura, Divine Domain)]

Most of Annan’s previous spells had almost completely disappeared.

Or rather, they had all been merged and upgraded. Nearly all of them had been upgraded to "Aura" or "Domain" style, enhancing the spells Annan had previously mastered.

It looked a lot cleaner, too.

Because the change was quite significant, Annan stopped in the void and carefully reviewed his skill descriptions.

However, his basic skills as a designer hadn’t fallen behind... he wasn’t dizzy from reading text of this level.

"...So that’s how it is."

Annan muttered to himself.

He roughly understood what was happening.

Simply put, "Aura" and "Domain" could each only activate one at a time.

The "Aura" had no consumption and acted like a passive aura, a trait of Annan’s own soul. One couldn’t acquire new Auras, but the effects of the Aura could grow stronger in sync with Annan’s increasing power.

That is to say, Annan could freely switch between the three Auras he commanded: "Frost," "Shocking," and "Healing."

When Annan switched to Frost Aura, he could freeze enemies, ground, and buildings within a certain range at will. The effect was equivalent to spells such as Cold Touch, Wheel of Frost, Frost Bind Force Field... just without the special effects and with immediate activation.

As for the "Shocking Aura," it was the other side of the Spell of Disabling. It corresponded with Lazy Eye and higher tier spells of Lazy Eye which Annan hadn’t mastered.

It allowed Annan to directly strip others of their consciousness. Like being hit by a stun grenade, it momentarily blanked the minds of those who failed their will checks.

As for Healing Aura, it was as if Annan had gained a new healing ability... no chanting or casting materials needed, simply switching to this Aura allowed him to slowly heal those around him.

As for the speed of healing, Annan hadn’t tested it yet, so he was unclear on the specifics.

"Domain" abilities, unlike Auras, could also only unfold one at a time. But when it was deployed, it required channeling some adaptable "Elemental Power".

Like the puddle of black mud beneath the feet of that Soulbearer. Once the Domain was suffused with Elemental Power, it could be materialized.

This was the most correct and traditional way to use Elemental Power. Compared to the rather wasteful "big move" of enchanting Elemental Power onto weapons or skills, using Elemental Power in this manner was the most efficient in terms of soul-burn.

Annan’s previous "Chanting Spells" were still retained, but no longer seen as a power Annan possessed. Since similar abilities could be used directly without chanting just by unfolding a similar Domain, Chanting Spells had lost their significance.

—In simple terms, within a fire domain, all fire-based spells like fireball, firewall, fireblast, and firestorm could be molded at will.

After all, Chanting Spells—like Wheel of Frost, for instance—required the invocation of Elemental Power during use. This process was essentially a temporary permissions request for Elemental Power, and the enchanting spell was effectively a "one-time password" for accessing the corresponding power when "not yet possessing this element".

Now, naturally, this process could be skipped.

So, since neither Aura nor Domain required the consumption of Order Mana, did Annan necessarily have to force a cast to use his mana?

Not really.

Because "Enhancement" abilities still consumed mana...

The [Radiance Form] ability was probably the completed form of "The Traces of the Celestial Chariot" Annan had previously pilfered from a nightmare.

[Radiance Form: Can be activated when Radiant Element is not occupied, consumes 50% Radiant Element and 0-100% Understanding Element when active, continuously using Order Mana upon activation. Chanting the spell of the Celestial Chariot, one can immediately become light incarnate and enter Radiance Form.]

[Radiance Form: Considered an elemental creature, creature of the realm of light, Angel Envoy, Summon. Cannot be targeted by any spells from the Idol School or School of Prophets, immune to any form of instant death, immune to damage exceeding 66% of max health, immune to mundane damage, immune to fear, immune to charm, immune to poison. In Radiance Form, one can teleport instantaneously within their field of view; no enemy within that range can stealth or hide in any way; the field of view becomes spherical and can penetrate all inorganic substances except gold, silver, and mirrors.]

...Although Annan had received The Traces of the Celestial Chariot a long time ago and had used it many times,

He didn’t know the specific effects until now, which just goes to show that this was likely a Golden tier ability he had obtained prematurely. Even if he could use it, he wouldn’t know the principle.

Group Radiance Weapon, on the other hand, was a new skill Annan acquired.

It was also an inherent ability of the "Radiant Sovereign" profession, and its strength did not disappoint Annan:

[Group Radiance Weapon: Requires 50% Radiant Element to activate and be effective, one-time consumption of Order Mana upon activation. Blesses all allied units within a range equivalent to "Radiance Form", temporarily turning their most commonly used weapon into a Radiance Weapon. Used during the day, duration extends until sunset; used at night, duration extends until sunrise.]

[Radiance Weapon: Adjusted to Dark Purple tier, Sacred Weapon quality. The weapon temporarily gains the prefix "Radiant", the wielder gains a temporary Curse Binding "Lightbound".]

[Sacred Weapons: When dealing damage to living enemies, can ignore their natural armor for full damage; when dealing damage to Specters, souls, and similar entities, converts all damage into Divine Arts damage.]

[Prefix "Radiant": Continuously emits light, when striking an enemy deals an additional 20% Radiant damage; during noon from twelve to two o’clock, Radiant damage will always critically hit; at night, the light trail produced by the weapon is considered a temporary substance, dealing Radiant damage only to enemies.]

[Curse Binding "Lightbound": You cannot use weapons other than "Radiance Weapon"; however, you are immune to the blinding effect when using a Radiance Weapon.]

[When using this ability in "Radiance Form", it affects all weapons held by allied units.]
