They had just walked a few dozen meters along the rugged path ahead when they turned a corner and saw two huge steel beasts on the open ground before them.

These two steel beasts were pitch black, standing six meters tall and equipped with eight mechanical legs each, resembling two giant spiders with a fiercely terrifying appearance. These were Yan Fei's Spider Platforms, set up in ambush in advance, aimed to catch all the armed militants in one go and rescue the hostages from Dream Island.

Now, at a distance from the cave entrance they had just left, retreat was impossible for them, and they could only face the ferocious attack of the Steel Spiders on this ground with no cover.

In an instant, under the barrage of gunfire from both Heavy Machine Guns, all the militants were dispatched by the Steel Spiders, leaving only the seven terrified Dream Island hostages lying on the ground. With their eyes covered by blindfolds, they had no idea what had happened outside and could only intuitively fall to the ground at the sound of gunfire, their bodies trembling nonstop.

After eliminating all the militants, one of the Steel Spiders moved forward to stand in front of the hostages. Then it lifted one of its mechanical legs, which rapidly transformed at the front end into a sharp Dagger. With swift motions, it sliced through the ropes binding the hostages in an instant.

A gruff voice then came from the loudspeaker of the Steel Spider in Chinese, saying, “Hostages of Dream Island, don't be afraid. I am here on a mission accepted from the net to rescue you. You are safe now, you can remove the blindfolds from your faces.”

The hostages had been frightened, but upon hearing they were being rescued, they dared to pull the black cloths from their faces. Once they adjusted to the outside light, they saw two huge Steel Spiders before them. Nearby were signs of bullet impacts, and all the militants had been killed, but the deaths were gruesome, with bodies torn to pieces, leaving no intact tissues.

Seeing the fierce Steel Spiders and the mutilated corpses of the militants frightened the Dream Island hostages even more. However, a member of the Dream Island Guard managed to hold himself together and asked with a tremble, “Please, how can we trust that you really are here to save us?”

The voice from inside the Steel Spider responded, “My name is Destroyer, tasked with the mission to rescue you. So, there's absolutely no need for me to deceive you. Moreover, this place is very dangerous, and you aren't completely safe yet. Hurry and board the Spider Platform alongside; it came specifically for your rescue.”

Following the direction indicated by the Steel Spider, they saw the other Steel Spider fold its mechanical legs back in, reverting to a large spherical shape. A door then opened on the sphere, revealing some control platforms inside, where a person could vaguely be seen operating controls.

The Guard immediately said to the other hostages, “Folks, I've heard of the name Destroyer. He and our Dream Island should have a friendly relationship. I believe he is here to save us. Hence, we should follow his instructions and enter the Spider Platform right away.”

No one objected to the Guard's suggestion. Thus, the group passed by the talking Steel Spider and made for the entrance of the other Steel Spider with its doors wide open. The last to go was another hostage from the Dream Island Guard; as he passed under the Steel Spider, a sudden transformation occurred. The Guard shuddered, his muscles and bones making a loud noise as his shape and features changed rapidly–in an instant, he grew into a two-meter-tall, gaunt middle-aged man.

The muscles of the middle-aged man pulsated rapidly, flinging off the paint from his body to reveal his black skin. Then with a jump, he reached six meters into the air and landed atop the talking Steel Spider, delivering a fierce punch to the glass on top of the Spider's head, cracking the glass extensively.
