Such a delay meant that the US Forces were rapidly closing in on Yan Fei's position. Upon detecting the army's rapid approach, Yan Fei had no choice but to give up searching and leave the area. However, he had recorded the terrain so he could return later, after evading this peril. There were items essential for the Drone Upgrade here, and Yan Fei was not going to give up on them.

Shortly after Yan Fei left, when a tracking dog crossed a branch and ran onto another, the following US Army troops suddenly accelerated and pursued along the underground fissure. Past this junction, there was only one way out. Furthermore, the fissure ahead was about to disappear, so once Yan Fei and Yang Qi's whereabouts were confirmed, the US Army chose to encircle them, intending to entrap them.
