Chapter 85: Beating Up
Chapter 85: Chapter 85: Beating Up
Not having a car is really inconvenient!
After taking a bus to the provincial city, Peter Brown took another bus to the location Edward Martin had mentioned.
It took an entire morning to travel this route!
After getting off the bus, Peter had the idea of buying a car for the first time.
It seems he really needs to buy a car in the future!
Thinking about buying a car, Peter thought about getting his driver’s license and other things done quickly. He didn’t know the status of Reuben Taylor’s promise to help him get a driver’s license, but of course, he’d have to learn how to drive first.
As a cultivator, Peter has extremely strong abilities in various aspects, so he wasn’t worried about learning how to drive.
After starting cultivation, Peter had already discovered some changes, including reaction ability and improved memory. With the strengthening of his spiritual power, he found it easier to remember things.
As he was walking, Peter saw a red sedan turn the corner. Although he didn’t know much about cars, he could tell it was a luxury car.
The car wasn’t driving very fast, but something startling happened. An old man suddenly ran towards the car and, just as it was about to stop, he lunged forward and pretended to be hit by the car, then fell to the ground.
With Peter’s keen vision, he could see that the car had stopped urgently before the old man even got close. The old man had time to dodge, so it seemed like a planned route.
Others might not understand, but Peter saw it very clearly. The old man wasn’t hit at all. When he lunged towards the car, he even used a cloth-wrapped object to smash the car, denting it and breaking the car lights.
Interesting!
Seeing this, Peter stopped and watched.
Looking back at the old man, Peter was somewhat taken aback to see blood seeping from somewhere on the man and from his mouth.
Blood quickly spread on the ground, making the scene look terrifying.
Damn!
Seeing this, Peter couldn’t help but secretly admire the old man’s professionalism. The whole thing was staged very convincingly, and an uninformed person would have really believed that the man had been hit by the car.
At that moment, Peter saw several young people rushing over, and one of them started shouting.
"Dad, what’s wrong with you? What happened?"
This young man was burly, and his voice was earth-shattering.
The others ran up to the car and started shouting as well.
Many onlookers had gathered, and lots of people surrounded the scene.
At that moment, the car door opened, and a fashionable, beautiful young woman got out of the car. Her face turned pale, clearly frightened by what had happened.
When the woman got out, the people yelled even louder.
Just then, Peter saw the cloth-wrapped object on the ground being quietly picked up by a young man. He walked over and stood in front of him.
The police arrived at that moment. The young people shouted, demanding compensation from the woman. The entire situation spiraled into chaos.
Further adding to the chaos, two more women ran in, crying, and without any hesitation, they grabbed the young woman and started attacking her.
Peter initially was watching the commotion, but his anger rose when he realized what was happening. He understood that this was an organized group of scammers and, although he didn’t know what they planned to do next, anyone could see that the young woman would not escape trouble without substantial evidence.
The old man was lying on the ground, covered in blood, and the car had been dented as if the woman was at fault. Even the police had that kind of expression.
"It’s not the woman’s fault. I can prove that the old man intentionally ran into the car."
Although Peter’s voice was calm, it instantly silenced the chaotic scene. Everyone looked at him.
"You little bastard, what did you say?"
One of the strong men charged towards Peter as if he would beat him if he didn’t provide an explanation.
Unintimidated, Peter pointed to the cloth-wrapped object at his feet and said, "This is what the old man used to hit the car. Officers, please take it for verification."
"You little bastard, you must be the woman’s lover. How dare you make things up."
This time, several people charged at Peter.
With a smile, Peter said, "I have evidence that the old man is fine."
As he said that, Peter kicked the old man lying on the ground.
Ah!
Seeing Peter kick the old man who seemed to be unconscious, everyone was dumbfounded, wondering what the young man was trying to do.
However, something no one expected happened. As soon as Peter kicked him, the old man, who seemed near death, suddenly jumped up and started laughing loudly.
Looking at the old man again, it was clear that he was full of energy, showing no signs of having been hit by a car.
At that moment, everyone noticed another detail: a bag full of what looked like blood fell out of the old man’s clothes.
Everyone stared blankly at the old man.
The young men who were previously enraged now glared viciously at Peter, and one even drew out a knife.
A police officer was knocked to the ground by one of the young men at this time.
"Let’s go!"
One of the young men glanced at Peter and tried to get everyone to leave.
Hmph!
Peter wasn’t about to let them go. His body flashed and he charged at the group, punching each of them to the ground.
"So you’re scammers!"
Peter shouted as he hit them.
"Damn, it was a scam! I almost fell for it."
"Same here, I thought someone had really been hit by a car. Turns out it was a group of scammers."
The onlookers became angry, especially when they saw Peter’s ferocity in taking down the gang members. They rushed forward and beat the scammers, who begged for mercy.
At that moment, the police car arrived with sirens blaring, and the scammers were all arrested.
