Chapter 758: Joining the Company
Chapter 758: Chapter 758: Joining the Company
The enormous size of the Alchemy Hospital greatly exceeded Peter Brown’s expectations. As he looked around, he thought this place was less like a hospital and more like a city.
"You must be Peter Brown. I’m Steward Liam Smith," a thin middle-aged man stepped forward to greet him.
Peter quickly saluted and replied, "That’s me. Nice to meet you, Steward Lee."
Liam Smith smiled and said, "Please follow me to complete the entry procedures."
"Alchemist, I’ll leave first."
Karry Armstron said to Peter before leaving.
Peter wasn’t very familiar with these apprentices, but Karry had left a good impression on him. He nodded and said, "Thank you."
Liam Smith then explained, "These apprentices will enter each department, and after your arrival, you will also join a department, with Karry becoming your subordinate."
Peter just smiled and didn’t say much, after all, he wasn’t too clear about how the Alchemy Hospital operated.
As he entered deeper into the hospital, Peter found his eyes widely opened with surprise. There were so many beautiful women walking around, each one more stunning than the last.
Looking into each office along the way, he saw people just like those on Earth, working in offices, focused on their tasks.
If he hadn’t known that this was the Cultivation World, he might have thought that he was in a large corporate office on Earth!
Peter found the familiarity amusing.
"This is our Human Resources Department. This is the head of it, Noel Woods."
When Peter saw the slightly overweight middle-aged man, he saluted once more.
Noel Woods smiled and said to Peter, "I’ve heard about your accomplishments in the county. I heard your alchemy skills are quite impressive?"
"It was just a necessary move."
"Alright, Jessica, please help Alchemist Brown with the entry procedures." Noel Woods said to a young married woman, who looked at Peter with a smile and said, "I didn’t expect that you would be so handsome."
Making a joke, the woman efficiently helped Peter with the entry procedure.
"Alchemist Brown, now you are ranked as a lower-grade Alchemist. If you want to adjust your rank, it can only be done next month."
"It doesn’t matter; I’ll accept being lower-grade."
Peter didn’t really care about his ranking.
Noel Woods then explained, "According to the regulations of the Alchemy Hospital, after joining, your monthly salary is twenty thousand cultivation coins. Additionally, as long as you complete the tasks assigned to you, you can sell the elixirs you refine yourself without the hospital taking a share."
Peter already knew about this and nodded, "That’s good."
"Your current residence is an employee dormitory provided by the Alchemy Hospital. It’s small, but if you want something bigger, you can buy one yourself."
At that, Peter furrowed his brows slightly. He knew he wouldn’t be staying at the Alchemy Hospital for long, as he had many secrets. Plus, he was thinking of setting up a teleportation formation to see if it could directly link to the Land of Decay.
Of course, Peter didn’t mention those thoughts right away, and simply responded, "Alright."
"Your job is with the Ninth Division. You’ll belong to the tenth alchemist team under the Ninth Division."
The tenth alchemist team in the Ninth Division?
Peter memorized the location of his new workplace. He was quite curious about it.
With his new uniform, identity card containing updated information, a Pill Furnace, a permit to enter the Elixir Chamber, and twenty thousand cultivation coins added to his Identity Card, Peter was now officially an Alchemist.
"Jessica, will you show him around?"
"Alchemist Brown, my name is Jessica Wilson, please take care of me in the future." Jessica, a beautiful woman from the HR department, introduced herself with familiarity.
"I’ll be relying on you, too," Peter chuckled in reply.
"Let me tell you about the situation in your division. The Ninth Division is managed by Elder Lucas Armstrong. Although he’s an elder of the ninth division, their ranking isn’t based on cultivation. It’s said that Lucas Armstrong has the highest cultivation among the nine elders. It’s quite a fortunate thing for you to join his division."
"Oh!"
Peter hesitated, thinking that the reality didn’t match his speculations. Did the Nelson family put him under the ninth elder’s division? Was the ninth elder one of their people?
"What’s the ninth elder like?" Peter tried asking indirectly.
Jessica seemed to see through his intentions and whispered to him, "You want to ask about the ninth elder’s relationship with the Nelson family, right?"
Peter was surprised at her perception and wondered how she knew what he was thinking.
Seeing Peter’s puzzled gaze, Jessica puffed out her chest and said, "What are you looking at? Is it that big?"
This woman!
Peter was left speechless, not expecting such a beauty to be so bold.
Jessica laughed, "Are you blushing after a joke?! Haha, I won’t tease you anymore. Let me tell you, the ninth elder isn’t related to the Nelson family. I know about the situation between you and them, but don’t worry. This time, the ninth elder personally requested for you to join. I think his goal is to protect you."
Unexpectedly!
Peter had not expected the ninth elder of the shire to specifically request him.
Now, Peter had even more guesses. He thought that the Nelson family might have arranged for him to join the Alchemy Hospital and even placed him under their people. Somehow, this ninth elder must have pulled him into his own division.
The more he thought about it, the more interesting it became.
Jessica added, "By the way, the Ninth Division is also quite large, and there are many people and beautiful women in it. With your handsome appearance, you won’t lack female attention."
Another joke!
Through their conversation, Peter finally understood that this place was an area dedicated to refining elixirs, and it was likely that most of its occupants were assistants and apprentices.
Peter felt as if he had truly entered a secular office rather than the Cultivation World.
As they spoke, they reached a designated area.
Upon seeing the large words "Ninth Elixir Division" on a wall, Peter knew this was where he would be working.
This Cultivation World wasn’t too different from Earth, after all!
Peter followed Jessica inside.
