Chapter 475 - 474: Mess

Chapter 475: Chapter 474: Mess

The workers dispersed, and Nellie White came out, her eyes filled with gratitude as they looked at Peter Brown.

She brought Peter to her office and sat down.

Nellie sat there, staring at the factory outside the window, as if talking to herself: "This factory was built by my uncle from the ground up. He was a very capable man, and the factory grew bigger and bigger day by day. It is a toy processing factory – there’s not much technology involved, but this factory is the accumulation of my uncle’s hard work."

Peter also looked outside and poured a glass of water for Nellie and himself.

Nellie continued: "The competition between toy processing enterprises is actually very fierce. In this city, my uncle was in competition with a company called Circum-Sea Group. I’m not too clear about the specifics. But while the two companies were competing, my uncle suddenly died in a car accident. My aunt, overcome by the shock, collapsed and had no choice but to hand the factory over to a hired general manager named Kade Brown."

At this point, Peter remembered hearing about the general manager purchasing equipment from twenty years ago and began to have a better understanding of the situation.

Sure enough, Nellie continued: "First, the chief engineer of my uncle’s factory led a group of technical staff into a factory called Windsea Toy Factory, emptying the entire factory of its technical workers. Then Kade Brown spent all the factory’s money to purchase a set of equipment – the equipment we received today. No one knew that he was the biggest culprit. After purchasing the equipment, he resigned and then became the boss of the Windsea Toy Factory."

At this point, Nellie’s eyes revealed a look of resentment.

Peter said: "All these things he did must have been approved by your aunt, right?"

"My aunt was listless and completely handed over the factory to him. Who knew he had intentions of hollowing out this factory all along?"

Peter suddenly thought of Nellie renting a house, and asked in confusion: "There should be houses in the factory, right? Why did you go out to rent a house?"

"Who knows how many of Kade Brown’s people are still in the factory? I thought I would observe from outside for a while. I didn’t expect the equipment to arrive suddenly today. The money has been paid, so we can only accept the equipment first. What I didn’t expect even more was the workers coming together today to force me to pay their wages. There’s no money left in this factory!"

"Yeah, it’s clear that Kade Brown and his people are behind this, trying to completely shut down this factory."

"Yes, that’s what I think too, but even if they didn’t do these things, we wouldn’t last much longer."

"Did your aunt let you take charge of the factory?"

"Yeah, I wanted to help my aunt a little bit."

"You must have studied management or something like that, right?" Peter asked curiously.

Perhaps having seen Peter’s performance today, Nellie no longer treated him like a simple farmer and shared some of her thoughts with him.

Through the conversation, Peter found out that Nellie wasn’t a management person at all, but a dancer. Her ambition was not to manage this factory.

"What do you plan to do?" Peter looked at Nellie and asked.

With a bitter smile, Nellie said: "You’ve seen it all. I originally thought that this factory could still be maintained for a while, but under the current circumstances, what can I do? It’s just a mess, and I can’t accept it!"

Peter knew that she didn’t want to see her uncle’s factory destroyed in her hands.

"In five days, they will come for their wages, what will you do?"

Nellie’s complexion worsened, and she sighed: "I guess I’ll have to sell the equipment and pay the workers’ wages; it seems the factory can’t continue operating."

"Can you sell the equipment all at once?" Peter shook his head upon hearing Nellie’s words. This beautiful woman was not a born businessperson, or rather, she had never dealt with a business before. Many things are not as simple as they seem, like selling the equipment for example. If someone were to interfere, it might not be possible to find a buyer, and even if one was found, they could potentially significantly lower the price.

As expected, Nellie had no confidence, saying: "I don’t know. Anyway, I can only make up for the wages we owe the workers first."

Peter said: "I have a general understanding of your company’s situation now, and I have a feeling that this company is being hollowed out by someone with a premeditated plan. You should communicate with your aunt about this, after all, she knows more about this company than you do."

"Hmm," Nellie White replied with a sound.

"Do you want to go back to your dance?" Peter Brown took a sip of his tea and asked.

Looking at Peter Brown, who treated this place like it was his own home, Nellie White stared at Peter for a while before saying, "There’s no point in telling you all this. No one can save this factory."

"How do you know it can’t be saved?"

Nellie White gave a bitter smile and said, "This factory is just a processing factory. The toys we process are still piled up there and can’t be sold. I have no capital and no technology. Now even the technical staff have left. How can it be done?"

Peter said, "Actually, when I was moving the equipment, I noticed that although they are a bit outdated, with some improvements, they can still produce good products."

Nellie White was surprised, "You know that too?"

Peter said, "Why not try to develop a new product? If we can really develop a new product, maybe your factory can be revived."

Nellie White laughed, "You think product development is easy? So many technical staff in the factory couldn’t do it, how can you possibly do it?"

"How can we know without trying? I specifically research machinery manufacturing, and making some toy products is possible."

Nellie White looked at Peter again and again with some uncertainty, "Really?"

"It’s up to you. If you don’t want to do it, just forget I said anything."

Peter was sincere in wanting to help Nellie White. He originally wanted to do machinery manufacturing, but after getting into some trouble and not lacking Dao Source, he lost interest. Now seeing Nellie’s worried look, Peter felt a little itch in his hands.

"But, what about the salaries of so many people?"

Peter said, "When I was moving the equipment, I saw that there are still some stockpiled toys in the warehouse. As cheaply as possible, sell them to pay some wages. Then use the factory building as collateral for a loan or something. I believe it can be done. Of course, this is just my thought. It’s up to you and your aunt to consider doing it."

As he said this, Peter looked at the time and said, "I’m going back to cook. Do you want to come with me?"

Nellie White said, "Actually, I don’t know anything about this. If you have a way, can you come up with it so that we can study it together?"

"Alright, I’ll come to the factory tonight to take a look."

"Good, I’ll come too and help you with the research."

As they could see, Nellie White was really out of options and began to believe what Peter said.

Looking at Nellie White, Peter shook his head. This beauty was not cut out to be a boss!

"By the way, you’re good at fighting. Why don’t you accompany me for the next few days?"

Nellie White was scared by what happened today and seemed to want Peter to be her bodyguard.

As long as it didn’t interfere with his cooking time, Peter didn’t mind. He really wanted to do something he wanted to do.

Nellie White went to find her aunt, while Peter took a bus to the seed company, where he bought some vegetable seeds before heading home.

Peter had also considered planting some vegetables in his ring space, so he wouldn’t have to eat pesticide-laden vegetables.

When he returned home, Peter first planted the seeds, and then began to prepare dinner.
