Chapter 2176: Chapter 2174: Faith Network
Sitting cross-legged here, Peter Brown focused his entire Divine Sense, using his unique eyes to observe the flow of faith energy in the void.
Peter remained seated for a long time. Suddenly, his eyes lit up as he discovered something different.
Peter had always believed that faith energy originated from humans, created by people’s acts of faith. However, today he finally noticed something unusual—it wasn’t entirely the case, and there were differences.
Where exactly does this thread of faith energy come from?
It was clear that a strand of faith energy was colorless. If not for Peter’s special eyes, capable of penetrating illusions, and his intense focus this time, he wouldn’t have discovered this new phenomenon.
Take a closer look!
Without hesitation, Peter followed the strand of faith energy.
This was a very long thread of energy—though thin as silk, its depth was incredible.
Peter’s Divine Sense was strong, yet he had to transform nearly half of it into fine threads to follow the strand. Even then, he couldn’t locate the source of this colorless faith energy.
How much longer? Where is it coming from?
As Peter traced it in a circle, he suddenly realized the strand of faith energy was remarkably odd, as if it was created from nothing. No matter where his Divine Sense reached, it simply existed there.
At this point, Peter finally stopped and began to withdraw his Divine Sense.
The result left Peter even more shocked. His hypothesis was correct—the strand of faith energy had indeed appeared out of thin air. It had no origin, no point of arrival, and no destination. Wherever his Divine Sense extended, it was simply there.
What is going on?
Peter stared at the strand of faith energy for a long time.
Suddenly, Peter noticed something new—the strand of faith energy actually encircled him. In other words, it was likely his own faith energy.
Whom exactly do I believe in?
Reflecting for a while, Peter felt a sense of confusion. He had never harbored any faith—he didn’t believe in others. If he had any faith at all, it was faith in himself.
When Peter confirmed that his faith was in himself, he saw the strand of faith energy converge toward him and quickly sink into his body.
This energy was different from other types of faith energy. What exactly was it? Could it be of any use to him?
For now, Peter couldn’t figure it out.
Peter firmly believed that if it was something he generated, it must have a purpose; he just hadn’t found a use for it yet.
With this thought, Peter strengthened his intention, commanding the strand of faith energy to emerge.
Sure enough, as soon as Peter established this intention, faith energy appeared above him out of nowhere again.
After observing it for a while, Peter felt inspired and tried to connect other strands of faith energy to his own.
It actually connected!
Just then, something astonishing occurred to Peter—his Divine Sense, which initially could only follow faith energy, suddenly transformed. When his faith energy linked to the strands, it extended infinitely outward.
This was an utterly marvelous sensation.
Without resistance, it traversed millions of miles in an instant!
Peter followed the strand and saw a mortal praying to a god in some distant place.
This was clearly an ordinary person. His devotion to the deity he was worshiping was genuine, as he prayed reverently.
Peter could even hear his murmurs.
"I beg the Great Spirit to bless my son, so he can enter Starlight College and bring honor to our family."
Peter didn’t know where this place was. Upon first glance, it appeared to be a shrine, where an unknown deity’s tablet was enshrined.
Suddenly, Peter noticed that the shrine was surrounded by strands of faith energy, each carrying different attributes. Some were even opposite to the energy the middle-aged man emitted.
Seeing this, Peter formed a hypothesis: this was a family, and the family members weren’t united in their wishes. The middle-aged man prayed for his son’s success, but other family members held different thoughts, indifferent to his hopes.
But such matters didn’t concern Peter. What he did next was attempt to connect these strands of faith energy together.
With a single thought, perhaps because Peter’s will was so strong, the strands of faith energy truly became interconnected.
It worked!
Once the faith energy strands aligned, Peter found himself akin to an internet hub, receiving data from all directions.
Peter’s vision brightened as he realized he could see the entire family’s situation clearly, even their inner thoughts were revealed to him.
What kind of phenomenon is this?
Peter was genuinely perplexed. From such a vast distance, he could extend his observation to this place. How was this possible?
At this moment, Peter distinctly realized this area belonged to a nation under the Starlight Domain, though the citizens here weren’t aware the domain had been seized by him.
Examining the area further, Peter noticed it was a sanctified energy abundant land, home to many Strong Persons.
However, the cultivation level of the people here only reached around Star Rank 200, which wasn’t particularly formidable.
Strands of faith energy seemed to function like network cables, connecting everything to Peter’s brain, which resembled a central server!
Those with faith, especially those who were devout, left their minds completely open to Peter, allowing him instant access to their thoughts and details.
If this is the case, does it mean I can use faith energy to control everything?
An idea suddenly emerged, sending Peter into a wild frenzy. If it truly worked, Peter, seated here, could know everything happening everywhere at once.
Right, one strand of faith energy isn’t stable enough. If I could intertwine all strands of faith energy and connect them back to myself, even if some people in those locations were killed, the information would still reach me.
Peter immediately began combing through the faith energy here, linking the strands one by one.
