Chapter 2020: Chapter 2118: Teleportation Artifact
Peter Brown was contemplating the crafting of a Divine Artifact, and after some thought, he realized he needed to create something that people needed and would be of great use. Only that kind of item could sell for a high price.
What kind of Divine Artifact should he craft?
Sitting in the teahouse, Peter ordered some items to eat while pondering this matter.
At that time, the waiter came over to place the wine on the table.
Peter said subconsciously, "What kind of Divine Artifact is most useful nowadays?"
"The kind for escaping, of course," the waiter replied, causing Peter to be taken aback.
"Why an artifact for escaping?"
The waiter smiled and said: "You’re joking, right? Everyone knows that escaping is most important. Look at those who’ve gotten their qualification certificates; aren’t they all being pursued and blocked? If they had the means, they would naturally use the fastest way to escape and not be caught by anyone."
"Are such artifacts for sale?"
"You’re joking again, guest. Such artifacts would probably only appear in places like the Starlight Domain. Even if they exist in those places, they would be exorbitantly priced. How could there be such items here? If there were, they would have already sold for a high price."
"You’re right!"
Peter gave a word of praise.
After the waiter left, Peter’s mouth curled into a smile.
He casually picked up a promotional brochure left here by an auction firm and started browsing through it. Sure enough, he noticed that the upcoming auction had quite a few Divine Artifacts. However, with Peter’s discernment, those couldn’t really be called Divine Artifacts, they were merely some low-rank crafts.
From Peter’s perspective, Divine Artifacts were categorized into four major levels of top, mid, and low, each with an additional superb grade. Each of those major levels was divided into high, mid, and low third orders. The Divine Artifacts up for auction were at best low-grade, low-rank Divine Artifacts, hardly worth a glance.
However, despite being such items, Peter noticed that a Divine Artifact capable of teleporting over a distance of one li (Chinese mile) was tagged with a high price.
If such an item could sell for so much, what about something of even higher quality?
Peter hesitated for a moment at the thought of crafting items; he truly dared not suddenly produce such a high-quality Divine Artifact here. Crafting a low-grade, high-rank item might be more appropriate.
With this idea in mind, Peter closed his eyes and began to contemplate.
For an ordinary person who obtained a qualification certificate, they might be surrounded and all they could do might be to fight desperately. However, if they could instantly leave the battlefield, their chances of survival would be greatly increased.
No wonder that artifact capable of moving only one li was so valuable. Peter could certainly craft a Teleportation Artifact.
Upon thinking of a Teleportation Artifact, Peter felt that he ought to have one himself.
Peter had already gathered plenty of materials. The difficult-to-acquire Life Energy and Faith Energy were abundant for him; thus, for Peter, crafting such a Divine Artifact was not a challenge.
Returning to the courtyard he had purchased, Peter took out the materials and then pondered the entire Refining Secrets for a while. Only when he was sure there were no issues did he begin crafting.
After a day, Peter conducted several tests and experienced a few failures before finally crafting a successful Teleportation Artifact.
This Teleportation Artifact could only be used ten times, teleporting ten thousand li at a time. Peter did not want it to be used indefinitely; he believed that even so, there would still be many in need.
After this successful experience, Peter crafted another artifact for himself, capable of teleporting one hundred thousand li, the farthest distance he could manage at the moment because Divine Sense Energy consumption during crafting increased with distance.
After completing this task, Peter disguised himself and headed toward the biggest auction firm in the city.
As soon as he entered the auction firm, a beautiful lady came to greet him.
There was none of the disdain that might be expected; after a conversation, Peter was taken to an Appraisal Room.
There were several Appraisers busy at work.
"Bring out any Treasure for appraisal," an old man looked at Peter and said.
Peter took out the Teleportation Device that could only be used ten times.
"Tell us, what’s special about this Divine Artifact?"
"Nothing much, just that when this Divine Artifact is activated, it can teleport a person ten thousand li away. It can be used ten times."
What?
The people who were busy working all stopped and their gazes focused on the Teleportation Artifact.
The old man who had asked the question immediately picked up the Teleportation Artifact and scrutinized it intently.
They were experts in the field of appraisal and naturally had their special methods for authentication.
After the appraisal by several elderly men, the head of the group expressed excitedly, "It’s real, this is a Divine Artifact that can teleport someone ten thousand li away!"
Soon after, the head of the auction firm, a middle-aged man, hurriedly arrived. He inspected the Teleportation Device over and over and then turned to Peter to say, "Esteemed fellow, I’m in charge here. Your artifact is a rare treasure. We have two proposals and would like to hear your opinion."
"Go ahead," Peter replied.
The middle-aged man identified himself as Christian Green, and he said, "We have once auctioned a Teleportation Artifact that could move once over one li and it was bought for one thousand Top Grade Divine Stones."
Peter nodded slightly as he was aware of this.
"Your artifact can move ten thousand li and for those who want to quickly escape pursuit, it is a treasure. Naturally, its value will be very high. The only regret is that it can only be used ten times, but it is still a rare treasure. We want to offer one billion Top-grade God Stones to buy this Teleportation Artifact; of course, there is another option, which is to auction it off, and we believe it should fetch more than a billion."
Saying this, he looked at Peter.
Thinking that he didn’t want to stay here any longer, and considering that it was a low-cost artifact to begin with, Peter said, "Selling it for one billion to you is acceptable, but I also need some materials."
Hearing Peter’s agreement, the middle-aged man’s eyes lit up with excitement as he believed they would make a great profit and he promptly agreed, "No problem, just list the materials you need."
Peter listed them.
When Peter left the auction firm, his Ring was filled with various crafting materials.
