Chapter 1954: Chapter 1952: Dragon Attracting Tree

"Quick, we’re about to get out!" White Wolf said while they were in the midst of running.

Hearing it announce their imminent arrival, Peter Brown said, "Stop for a moment."

Everyone halted in their tracks.

Gabriella Graham asked, "What’s wrong?"

"I’m feeling waves of heart palpitations; are any of you feeling the same?"

Alice Thompson replied, "Indeed, I’m feeling it too, as if danger’s lurking."

At that moment, White Wolf also said, "My feeling is much stronger than before when I entered. It’s intensified a lot."

"That’s right, with so many mutations occurring here, it wouldn’t make sense if this place wasn’t affected by them. I suspect there have been changes inside."

"What should we do? Are we not going to go in?" Moira Johnson was very keen on finding medicinal herbs; seeing that they were about to reach their destination, she was becoming somewhat anxious.

Peter Brown glanced around and then noticed a space up ahead that looked like a cavern.

"What’s the situation over there?" Peter asked White Wolf.

"It looks like a collapse."

Gabriella Graham took a look and didn’t think much more of it.

Peter Brown quickly approached, examined it more closely, and said, "We’ll need to set up a defensive formation for hiding here. If a large number of fierce beasts suddenly arrive, we simply won’t be able to hold them off."

Anyway, everyone was following Peter’s lead, so when he mentioned setting up a formation, no one objected.

Taking out a formation disk, Peter started inserting them into the ground one by one.

As the formation disks were placed, the area that seemed like a cavern was transformed into a section of the mountainside, indistinguishable from the rest. Even careful observation might not reveal the existence of a cavern here.

"I’ve constructed a formation that uses the underground energy for defense. It should be effective to a certain degree."

After this task was completed, Gabriella Graham asked, "Master, can we enter now?"

Shaking his head, Peter Brown said, "We’ll stay hidden within the formation first. I’ll use Puppetry Technique to investigate."

While talking, Peter took out a specially refined puppet. When he struck it with a Talisman, the puppet came to life.

Everyone curiously watched Peter.

"Into the formation!" Peter called out.

Several people entered the formation, and then, with a gesture from Peter, a screen resembling a water curtain materialized in front of them.

"Master, what kind of technique is this?" Alice Thompson was truly astonished. She was increasingly baffled by Peter’s methods – one after another were completely unknown to her.

"Look over there."

Moira Johnson pointed at the water curtain.

As everyone looked on, it felt as though they were the ones walking, with every detail of the path unfolding before them.

Peter smiled and said, "Through the puppet, we can see what’s happening. It’s always better than taking risks."

Everyone became still and focused their attention on observing.

Soon enough, the puppet reached the exit.

When what the puppet saw appeared before everyone, they were all stunned.

In the center up ahead was a small tree laden with Fruit, emitting white vapor, enveloping the entire tree. The Fruits glowed with golden light that scattered in all directions.

The space inside was gargantuan, the size of a soccer field, and filled to the brim with an assortment of fierce beasts.

"Ah!"

Moira Johnson exclaimed in fright.

"How can there be so many fierce beasts?" Gabriella Graham was also shocked.

Alice Thompson gravely noted, "Did you see? The lowest cultivation of those beasts is at the Hundred-Star rank."

Only then did everyone turn their attention to the beasts, verifying that indeed, each beast possessed strength no less than that of the Hundred-Star Rank.

Just at that moment, following a thunderous roar, they saw numerous fierce beasts spotting the puppet, and then they watched as barrage after barrage of power struck the puppet.

Afterwards, the puppet was destroyed.

The content on the water curtain disappeared, leaving fear etched on everyone’s faces. If so many fierce beasts descended upon them, even with their formidable strength, death seemed the only outcome.

"Master, if we rashly appear now, it will be dangerous!"

Gabriella Graham was filled with retrospectively terror.

Peter Brown nodded slightly and beckoned with his hand, causing the imagery to reappear.

All eyes focused on the small tree.

"What tree is this?"

Alice Thompson asked.

Everyone’s gaze turned to Moira Johnson, as she was likely the only one who could identify the plants of the Divine Realm.

Sure enough, Moira Johnson said, "This tree is called Dragon Attracting Tree. It’s usually planted in areas with a Dragon Vein and used by Families to stabilize the vein. The tree doesn’t grow big or need sunlight, but it thrives in places rich in Dragon Qi. However, its fruits aren’t normally like this."

Peter Brown said, "After mutation, anything is possible. The Fruit must have absorbed holy energy, perhaps a great amount, leading to the mutation."

"If that’s the case, could these Fruits upgrade one’s Star Rank?" Gabriella Graham’s eyes lit up with excitement.

Alice Thompson chuckled bitterly, "While it’s good to dream, they might be even more potent than the average Holy Grass, possibly letting us breakthrough again. But have you thought about how we could possibly get them with our current power?"

As she said this, everyone could only respond with a bitter smile, acknowledging the conundrum – facing thousands of powerful fierce beasts and attempting to seize the Fruit seemed like a one-way trip to death.

"Master, what do we do?" Their eyes once again turned to Peter, faced with such an opportunity; it was impossible not to be tempted: they all longed for it.

Peter once more beckoned with his hand, and the scene of the fierce beasts reappeared.

Peter Brown studied the scene intently and then said, "We’re not completely without a chance."

"A chance?"

Everyone was a bit excited.

"These beasts guard this place surely to vie for the Fruit. Judging by their behavior, those Fruit are about to ripen. If we can stir up trouble and cause the beasts to fight among themselves, we might have a chance to snatch the Fruit."

"But if they do fight among themselves, the entire cavern will descend into chaos, and we’ll be caught in it!" The thought of thousands of Hundred-Star ranked fierce beasts stampeding and fighting was enough to make everyone’s courage falter.

Peter Brown smiled and said, "Let’s set things up first and then see if there’s an opportunity at the moment."
