Chapter 1953: Chapter 1951: Competing for the Quota
So powerful, everyone saw this mountain range as an abode of peril, but to the seven of them, it seemed no more than a playground.
Looking again at the streaks of light entering it, everyone’s heart swelled with immense doubt.
As if knowing what everyone was thinking, the leader of the group cracked a slight smile and said, "Don’t take this place too highly. Let me tell you, the world out there is the truly boundless one. If you want real eternity, you must venture out."
Another young person said, "We’re just first-year students at the academy, yet even students like us, who come out to undertake tasks, are beyond your reach. These one hundred spots are precious to you—it’s up to you if you have the chance. Of course, you can give up too."
"Alright, from now on, it’s your choice. What I want to tell you is that these qualification certificates are imbued with powerful saintly force. Once they enter in there, even fierce beasts will guard them as treasures. Without more than a hundred star positions in cultivation, you stand no hope at all. Even with such cultivation, if you meet a group of guardian fierce beasts, it’ll still be hard to obtain them; danger is a given."
"How do we find you after obtaining them?" An elder asked at this moment.
"You don’t have to look for us. Once obtained, you’ll naturally know how to reach the academy. Go on your own; also, let me tell you, start of school in two years—if you don’t arrive on time, it’s the same as giving up your spot."
Their gaze swept over the people present, and the seven young people had already soared into the air, quickly departing from the direction they came.
"How can they fly?" It was only then that someone noticed, exclaiming in astonishment.
Peter Brown’s heart was shaken; he didn’t expect there to be such a group of people. He had always had his suspicions, but when these suspicions turned into reality, Peter realized he knew next to nothing about the Divine Realm.
"Master, is our region really the countryside as they mentioned?" Alice Thompson was also unsettled by these remarks.
Not just her, everyone present was stunned, never expecting such a situation.
"Go for it!"
After a moment of silence, someone shouted and rushed inside.
"Go for it!"
More people surged forward.
Everyone had different thoughts about gaining this power. Those few young people had said they were so powerful in just their first year; how formidable would higher-level individuals be? Would the even stronger ones be the eternals?
"Master?" Gabriella Graham was tempted, looking at Peter.
"No rush."
Peter was not in a hurry at that moment. With so many people having dashed inside, could these qualification certificates really be that easy to come by?
"But there are only a hundred!" she protested.
Peter continued, "It’s not that easy. Those who enter first might not necessarily obtain it first. I see, there will be even more people coming, possibly even Sects from the Purple River Star Region. It’s going to be a fierce battle!"
Peter had participated in enough such battles to infer that those young people were selecting the strongest. Even if someone obtained a qualification certificate, whether they could keep it or not and manage to reach the academy with it was a question. Only those who arrived at the academy could be considered successful.
The three women understood too and upon considering the risks, their expressions changed markedly.
"Master, this means that even on the road it won’t be safe, right?" Moira Johnson said, visibly shocked.
"Let’s enter and search for Holy Grass or Holy Fruit. I want my Moira to quickly upgrade to more than a hundred star positions. Then, with five experts above the 100 star positions, we’ll have a chance in the battle."
"If that’s the case, we don’t need to rush into the Third Level. We should be able to find Holy Grass even within the range of the Second Level," Moira suggested.
"No, we must go in. If possible, weakening the opposition is also useful. Plus, we need to race against time. If we’re lucky, we’ll get those qualification certificates. If not, we’ll search for Holy Grass first."
Since everyone followed Peter’s lead, they naturally followed him into the Third Level.
Originally, the giant tree had made entry impossible, but now, with its disappearance, it was much easier for everyone to get in.
As they proceeded, Peter noticed that due to the excessive number of entrants, everything had been picked clean, as if swept by a storm—none of the valuable items remained.
"Master, this won’t do. If we follow after them, we’ll miss too many opportunities."
Peter set his sights on the White Wolf and said, "You must have come here before. Find us places where holy energy might appear, and we’ll head there."
"Follow me."
Upon hearing this, the White Wolf quickly metamorphosed back into its Wolf Shape and bolted toward a certain direction.
This direction wasn’t straight ahead, but rather toward a spot to the left.
"White Wolf, what kind of place is it?" Gabriella asked as they ran.
"It’s a strange place. We fierce beasts dare not enter, but it’s also very special. From time to time, bursts of special energy emerge. Now with this mutant event, I suspect that if there is a most mysterious place in the Third Level, it must be there. I just don’t know if it’s too dangerous."
Curious about what he heard, Peter said to the White Wolf, "Let’s rush there."
Upon reaching a primordial forest, they saw the White Wolf make for what seemed to be a cave entrance.
Once inside the cave, the White Wolf explained, "We need to go through this cave. The spot is on the other side, I’m not sure if there are risks."
"How far?"
"Two hours’ run."
Looking at the entrance veiled by mountain vines, Peter thought that even if someone came, it would be hard to find this place—only fierce beasts could manage that.
Initially worried about potential dangers, Peter glanced at the two experts of more than one hundred and eight star positions, and his concerns eased a bit; their power should protect them from too much danger, especially with the White Wolf. That was a formidable force indeed.
