Chapter 1859: Chapter 1857: Return to King’s City

After successfully refining a first-rank beast skin talisman, Peter Brown began working on high-rank talismans. Despite requiring a lot of Life Energy, he still managed to craft quite a few high-rank beast skin talismans under his skillful hands.

Beast skin talismans were much more powerful than Energy Bombs, possessing enormous might.

Peter even tested one; he had an eighth-level fierce beast skin, the killer of which he did not know. A fire talisman crafted from this skin was potent enough to kill a person of 80-Star strength in theory, though it had not been tested on a person in reality.

These few talismans had become the ace up Peter’s sleeve.

He kept all the important talismans inside his Ring and concealed them further below the navel.

"Your Highness, everything is ready. James Shore is urging us to depart."

Seeing Peter appear, Philips Williams hurried forward to greet him.

Peter looked at Philips and asked, "Is everything ready?"

"Your Highness, everything is ready. All eunuchs and palace maids have been dispatched; we have a contingent of a hundred and fifty people, and with the Beast Sect’s forces, even more."

Taking out a fifth-stage talisman and three third-rank talismans, Peter passed them to Philips with a serious tone, "These are a few talismans; keep them safe. The first can strike at those in the Fifty stars; the other three can annihilate those in the Thirty Star Rank. Don’t use them unless it’s crucial."

Philips was astounded, but he had always blindly trusted Peter and carefully put the talismans away.

Seeing Philips’s attitude, Peter felt pleased inside; this was the behavior of a truly loyal man.

Now Peter felt at ease concerning Philips.

After explaining how to use the talismans, Peter said, "Each use will consume energy equivalent to one Star Rank; be mindful of that when you use them."

"Please be assured, Your Highness. Unless absolutely necessary, I will not use these, nor reveal them to outsiders."

"Select another ten experts and ensure they’ve mastered the Ten Absolute Array, then issue each one a Fifty stars talisman."

Quickly, Philips brought ten individuals to Peter, all of whom were clearly experts, at least amongst the eunuchs.

After handing over the talismans to Philips and instructing him to manage the situation, Peter prepared to set off.

Regardless of how Philips trained them, those eunuchs were loyal.

Soon, Peter was no longer able to see James Shore.

James gave Peter a look. Noticing that Peter’s cultivation hadn’t progressed much, he didn’t comment further and simply smiled, "The current situation is very clear. All sides have entered King’s City; we should hasten there as soon as possible."

"I will listen to the Sect’s arrangements."

Peter had no objections to the Beast Sect’s arrangements.

Seeing Peter’s compliance, James felt more at ease, "One important thing on our journey to King’s City is to try and seize the Imperial throne. Only by doing so can we maximize our benefits, and the Sect support you receive will be even stronger."

After discussing for a while, they finally started their journey.

The procession was quite long, with Philips and the others, both eunuchs and palace maids, closely surrounding and protecting Peter.

Along the way, Peter didn’t engage in other activities, seemingly following the Beast Sect’s plans, merely sitting cross-legged in the carriage every day, meditating on the Cultivation Techniques.

As his understanding of the Body Refining Technique deepened with continued practice, Peter gained a greater grasp of it.

Their route had become much more desolate, clearly a consequence of the aftermath of great battles.

Peter occasionally peered outside, growing concerned about the empire’s situation.

"Master Sun, what’s the current internal state of the country?" In a conversation with James, Peter took the chance to ask.

James let out a bitter laugh before replying, "I can only say that the situation is very complex on all fronts, especially since all forces have their supporters. Our Beast Sect is not the strongest power here, and once we reach King’s City, we will have to play it by ear."

It was apparent that James’s confidence in seizing the Imperial throne was also low.

Realizing this, Peter knew he had to reconsider his approach.

However, he did not express his thoughts, instead, he just nodded slightly, "We’ll do our best. We do have our own Army, so there’s no need to fear them."

"You shouldn’t worry either," James reassured, "The Beast Sect will also dispatch experts to be stationed here. No one will dare to cause trouble."

Experts stationed?

Peter shook his head. He’d seen the Beast Sect’s fighters in action; even their experts wouldn’t be overly impressive.

Their journey had been unimpeded thus far, and not even bandits dared to rob them given the formidable size of their entourage.

Ten days later, Philips approached with apparent excitement, "Your Highness, we’ve arrived in King’s City!"

At that moment, Peter was observing the enormously tall City-protection barrier that seemed to pierce the heavens.

It was a massive barrier that Peter believed could enclose the entire Earth if it were on his home world.

"Have the people sent ahead arrived at the Mansion?" Peter asked briefly.

"Rest assured, Your Highness, they have arrived and the Princess has sent someone to greet us."

The Princess?

Peter was momentarily puzzled; he hadn’t expected Prince Harvey to have a Princess.

"Your Highness, this affiliation was a matter of necessity. The Princess’s Family got entangled due to Your Majesty’s demise; thus, the Princess had no choice but to seek refuge in the Prince’s Mansion."

Peter began to understand. It seemed to be a Princess who had yet to marry into the family. He hadn’t expected such a development.

He wanted to inquire about the Princess’s situation, but he held back, not yet having fully adjusted from some Earthly conceptions.

"Your Highness, it would be best for us to stay together at your Prince’s Mansion."

Hearing James say this, Peter was truly at a loss for words.

"Fine, have Philips make the arrangements; he’s very familiar with the local circumstances."

After explaining the whole situation, Peter stopped meddling in the affairs, knowing that the battle was just beginning and wondering how long he would survive.

What kind of woman was the Princess?

Peter thought it lucky that the Princess hadn’t truly married in yet; she was, in fact, still unclaimed – and was, therefore, his woman by right.
